However, we were less than impressed as new guests upon arrival. The staff was not as welcoming and the expectation that was set while making the reservation fell pretty flat. We decided to try the resort one additional time because of the amount of positive reviews, but the second time also left us in disappointment. It was extremely difficult to get through to anyone when calling to check on our dogs. When making my reservation, I was told there would be communication about how our dogs were doing. This has not happened, so we tried to call, but the phones are not answered. I received no response to my voicemail or emails while I was traveling. The report cards that we received were duplicates even though our dogs have very different personalities. One of our dogs came home not feeling well, although his report card said he was "rambunctious". I hesitated before writing this very honest review because I may give the resort one additional opportunity to change my perspective. I have attached a copy of each duplicated report card that was received for my dogs as well as the email that was left without a response. Consideration should really be given to the offerings that are promised if there is not capacity to provide quality results/products.

We have three dogs, three cats and a tortoise in the house and a horse, a small flock of chickens and three cats in the barn. Besides taking care of my wife and her health care needs I was running the ship alone. Several friends who were unable by distance or time to help physically helped monetarily to give us a break. We have great friends! One evening as I was getting ready for bed, I posted in the Bucks County Equestrian page that I needed some evening chores help several nights a week for short term. Owner of Nickers and Howls Pet Services Nicole saw it and jumped to PM me with information about her services. Two days later I interviewed her and liked her right away. She went through the chores with me and when I asked if she'd like to bring my mare in, she said yes without hesitation and confidently put her halter on and walked her inside the barn for her dinner. We started with four days that first week and by Thursday I asked if she'd be interested in doing M-F. I do the morning chores before work and she puts the barn to bed and sets me up for the next day with filling water and feed, cleaning the stall, collecting eggs and all the little things that need doing. She reminds me when we're getting low on things like cat food or meal worms She does a great job, remembers everything I ask of her, thinks things through on her own and does one hell of a bang-up job and gives me peace of mind. I would highly recommend Nicole to anyone who needs dog walking, (BTW she comes in and chats/updates us each evening and my dogs adore her!) pet sitting, daily check-ins if you go away or just all around help in their barn or home. She's trustworthy, smart and seems extremely compassionate.

The full story of how I lost my healthy dog while she was boarding at R.C. Dog Care is on Facebook…read more Everyone has the right to make their own decision with what to do with their pets. I am just sharing my story, advocating for my Phoebe, and for Bunny who passed a month before her. I have personally had former employees reach out to me sharing that they left because they could not witness the poor treatment of the dogs any longer. Phoebe went there in 2019 and came home. This time she didn't. I hate that Bunny's owners felt this pain before me and I hope no one else ever has to lose their dog. I attached a photo that haunts me. Phoebe in the morning, hours before she was taken to the vet. She looks so scared and in the video she was having trouble breathing. They did not send us this video. I believe she should have been taken in immediately and the vet should have been told that her breathing was labored, which is what I was told (2 days after she passed) was noticed that morning by the facility. Bad things happen, but I believe this could have been avoided. I also cannot believe that after taking Phoebe to the vet and then transporting to the ER and knowing the condition she was in, THEY NEVER REACHED OUT TO MY FAMILY. THEY NEVER APOLOGIZED OR SHARED ANY CONDOLENCES. In my opinion, that is just sick. In my opinion, that shows that they did not care. I am so sorry to my sweet Phoebe that I ever brought her there, I am sorry that I was not with her, and I am so sorry that she was hurting. I won't let people forget her Phoebe should still be here. Phoebe was the sweetest dog. She was my best friend. I won't recover from this loss. RC Dog Care, I will never forgive you for this. I have attached clips of what others have said about witnessing dogs being kicked by staff, getting sick without communication, and other stories. From what I know, Phoebe had a long and painful last day. She didn't deserve that. Rest in peace sweet Phoebe and Bunny

Ross Mill Farm - Outdoor piggies

After more than a year, Ross Mill Farm has finally reopened! COVID guidelines are being enforced,…read moreyou cannot walk around the place on your own like before. Instead, tours will be given. However, they are not available/given every weekend, so make sure to call beforehand. The maximum group size cannot exceed six people. And the requested payment is $50/group. Keep in mind the farm is a non-profit organization, and they have been closed over a year, so your $50 would really go a long way in helping support their efforts. Our group of three followed Susan, the founder, who gave us an in-depth tour of the farm. Even though we've been there a few times already, we were learning so much about the different types of pigs, and the farm's history. We were allowed to pet the pigs, but only the ones specified by Susan, as some pigs are just not as friendly and could bite. The whole tour lasted an hour-ish. Towards the end of the tour, Susan let us play with the smaller pigs in the larger pen for a good amount of time which we all loved. Looking forward to our next visit, and upcoming events in the future!

We all had a special and wonderful time! Susan is a leading expert on pig behavior and you can tell that the pigs love her. There are over 160 pigs here over dozens of acres. They definitely all have their own personalities and plenty of space. The farm itself was gorgeous and we walked around to see all the pigs. Some of the more social ones are permitted to roam about the premises and love saying hello. There's also an indoor boarding house with a piglet room. If you're looking to try a new experience and support a unique fun and silly nonprofit that does a world of good, I encourage you to visit!

It's important for me to make progress with my dog, so I Googled alternate options and stumbled upon Alex's page. I called him on a Friday and he picked up the phone right away. We spoke for a while about my needs and he came out the following Tuesday for what was supposed to be a 2-hour visit. I fell in love with him immediately, he is not only so personable and likable on his own, but he really takes the time to LISTEN to what you need and work on those things right away. I had mentioned my priorities to my previous trainer, but I found that she was teaching my dog commands that didn't actually accomplish what I was after. In our first meeting, Alex worked on SO MANY of my priorities. He got my dog to go into her crate on command, taught her to "stay," showed me how to "walk with" my dog better on her leash, and (using a 30' leash outdoors) started working on recall with her. We were so immersed in what was going on that Alex started to go a little bit over our time, but he didn't want to stop because we were making such great progress. I told him if he wanted to give me a third hour right then and there that I was prepared to pay for it, and he did!! I learned a lot of things from Alex myself during our first meeting, like how to employ the use of "deltas" (which my old trainer never once mentioned) and how non-verbal cues are arguably more important than verbal ones. Again, my old trainer actually discouraged me from using hand motions, but once incorporating them into my routine I noticed that my dog was much more compliant than she had been. Another positive difference between my old trainer and Alex is he really takes the time to teach you why he's doing what he's doing, and encourages you to participate. My old trainer just taught my dog a command and had me replicate/practice when she left. Alex really makes you feel like you are a part of the teaching process. After our private session Alex recommended some "Small Group Therapy" for my pup. He came at noon on a Thursday to pick up my dog and she proceeded to go on a several-hour outing with his two chihuahuas and a dog he was fostering. The entire time he was out with her he was recording and sharing videos on an iCloud album. It was INCREDIBLE to not only see everything that was happening, but to hear him narrate why he was doing the things he was doing. I could not get enough of his videos and felt like I was there during the session. On top of Alex's excellent communication, punctuality, reliability, friendliness, competency, and effectiveness, his rates are OUTRAGEOUS in the BEST way! I truly believe he is under-charging for his services. I can get three hours with Alex for less than I paid for one hour with my prior trainer, and I feel much better about the work that is done during that timeframe. I adore Alex, and most importantly, what he is doing works. He really gets into the mind of your dog, and has such a wonderful way of connecting with them and their needs. I am elated to keep our work going - my pup has lots more Small Group Therapy outings in her future and it's wonderful that I have the option to use him one-on-one to teach her even more commands in the house. One day I hope to move on from essential commands to more fun ones, like "roll over" or "go get X toy."
