UPDATE: This place is horrible and should have been shut down years ago. After our ordeal, I…read morereported them to the dog warden who based on our photos, timeline, and our dog's vet record said it warranted an investigation. She reported that when they went there for an unannounced investigation, everything was to code so at that point, there wasn't much more we could do. I'm just glad that they took it serious enough to look into. As I had mentioned in my original post, which you can read below, the owners will try to twist things and put the blame back on the dog's owners. From my post on Nextdoor (if you live in Buck County, you can look up my name on Nextdoor to see the post from 2 years ago and read through the many responses of people sharing their shocking experiences with Holiday House), I have since learned that lack of care - to say the least - is not atypical. People posted about wrong dogs being returned, dogs coming back traumatized, dogs being returned extremely ill, and even one poster sharing that their dog died in while being boarded there. If you care for your pet, do not use this place. It's been a couple of years since our horrible experience boarding our dog there, and to this day, we are all still scarred by it and the memory of what our dog looked like when we picked her up, the thousands of dollars we spent to get her heatlhy, and her health issues she suffered from because of their lack of care for her basic well being. Also, our credit card company even reimbursed us for the fees we paid to Holiday House - again based on photos, timeline and medical records from out vet. They agreed that Holiday House did not provide the care they promised us.

They take into consideration that I get worried, even give advice and very patient. I appreciate this place & they are good prices .. specially for day care. I liked the place immediately, and it was clear that they liked our dog (dogs, now; we've added a second Corgi). I've gotten good advice on care and feeding from them, they've helped us out on schedules, and they offer a walking service that takes the dogs up and down the nearby canal towpath. About the canal: Amber Beech is between the canal and the Delaware River. We were on vacation this past summer when Hurricane Irene hit, and we were worried about the dogs. We called, they said they had it under control, but would stay open till we got there to pick up the Corgis. We love this place. There are a couple quirks. They want bordatella (kennel cough) vaccinations every 6 months, and our vet says annual is plenty...but our dogs have never had any problems with illness or fleas after returning from Amber Beech, which I can't say about other kennels in this area we've used. The offices are a bit rough, and the folks are not antiseptically cute...but that suits me just fine. They clearly love the animals, and care for them as if they were their own. We'll be boarding the dogs there during our Christmas travels this year...again.

Our dogs have benefited from the play groups organized at the kennel of dogs of similar size and temperament. Denise also has a great relationship with local veterinarians and has even reminded us of when vaccinations and check ups are due. Amber Beech takes special care of our dogs when we are traveling, sending updates and feeding special food at our instructions.
