I didn't want a new pet from the pet store, but a rescue that needed all the love I had to offer. So i emailed Herpaderp last night. I got a quick and friendly response and a request to send current time-stamped photos of the enclosure I had to offer to my new friend. I really like that they do that, definitely shows how much they care for their reptiles. Everything worked out great and my husband and I were able to go there today and meet up with Christian. He was super friendly. They had a very large designated room where they kept quite a bit of reptile friends, all in appropriately sized enclosures. All the reptiles looked relaxed and healthy with a super chill vibe. No one surfing or distressed. We had the privilege of walking around their beautiful yard where they have ample fruits and vegetables planted. We met some outside turtles in an awesome pond and a silly tortoise that followed us around the yard. We ended up adopting Chester, a spunky bearded dragon that was missing an eye. What he lacked there he makes up in personality. My husband and I were really impressed, and grateful for the work that these kind hearted people do. They absolutely care about their rescue and have put fourth a lot of time and effort into creating a safe space for their reptiles.
