This is an average business at best…read more When I bought the house, the cameras and control panel were already installed. I just had to take on the $50 per month charge. In exchange, the company left me hanging. Any and every time I need answers or instructions on how to operate this, or change settings for that, it takes a long phone call or chat experience that goes nowhere. If my alarm goes off, they are right on it. Great work there. However, with Vivint, the customer comes last. Need help? Last. Got a service order needing completion? Last. Expecting a follow-up? Last, last, last. Horrible customer service. Their outgoing service people do good work. When they come out, they work hard and generally know what they are doing. I've had two experiences with them. However, recently I had a guy come out to work on my garage door. After two hours of failure, he said he'd need to get a better part and follow up. That was weeks ago, no phone call, no email, no follow-up, and my garage door still won't open. I'll call them to see why they forgot about me. Again. Because, yes, this has happened before. As long as everything works and you don't need ANYTHING until your home is burglarized, or don't need them otherwise, Vivint is a good company. Okay bye.

Beware of deceptive long-term contracts and a nightmare cancellation process.I am beyond frustrated…read morewith my experience. Somehow, I was locked into a 5-year contract--something I explicitly would never agree to, as I move every 2 to 4 years.Beyond the contract trap, the service is terrible. The cameras are sub-par and do not perform well. Trying to cancel your service is an absolute nightmare. Calling customer service feels like an Olympic sport; I was transferred 5 different times, forced to repeat the exact same information to every single representative, only to have the call suddenly disconnected. I am currently deep into my second hour of phone calls just trying to get a straight answer.Do not let this company lock you in. Save yourself the stress and look elsewhere for home security. DONT DO IT!

PLEASE READ THIS IN FULL PRIOR TO WORKING WITH THIS COMPANY. These are things I desperately wish I…read moreknew prior to going into a 5 year contract with them. If I could give Guardian Protection zero stars I would. They don't protect a damn thing. If you were in an actual emergency situation, you would be screwed. BUYER BEWARE. ISSUE #1 Doorbell camera only records for 30 seconds max then stops even if there is someone beating down your door. I had a recent situation with a neighbor beating on my door, banging and yelling for nearly 4 minutes. The doorbell camera only recorded the first 30 seconds which showed her politely knocking and didn't get any of the rest. I called Guardian and they said there was nothing they could do and that is just how their cameras are meant to function. And they had the nerve to suggest I buy additional cameras. ISSUE #2 Cameras completely stop working once you reach a certain amount of recordings each month. I hit a maximum recording quota that I didn't even know existed (I only have a doorbell camera and back door camera). Hitting that quota stopped both of my security cameras from recording. And then to top it all off, because I hit that quota it subsequently turned off all of my recording rules without my knowledge so that even when the recording was supposed to restart, it still wasn't recording because they stopped all my recording rules. I had to go back in and manually restart them again. Thus, my cameras were essentially off for days, if not weeks. What is the point of having an expensive security system if this is what it does? I just wanted to feel safe in my home and thought they could provide that. Now, I'm stuck in a 5 year contract with a deceitful company and I'm thousands of dollars in the hole.

We were looking for a reputable company to provide security for us and this company will present…read moreitself to having great rights and great services the system is self worked for about 28 days and then if we start to have a complications we have by then refer someone and they too have them come to install the system at their house they are systems that didn't work at all Probably ever and that was a senior person in order to resolve the situation they wanted to come back out charge to look at the bail which was set $125 to look at the keypad which was in $75 it had not been working properly mind you they are still billing each month for the service that is not working properly They have your personal info/social security... on file and they can start into submit you too credit bureau's my advice is to stay away they lock you into a contract and really what's your in it it is hard to get out of it learn from my mistake do not mess with guardian
