EXTREMELY RUDE STAFF!!!! I asked for the price on a puppy and they refused to give it to me. When I declined to sit in their little room the girl yelled at me as I walked out the door. I will never go back and recommend everyone go elsewhere. The customer service was the worst! read more

The moment you walk in, it feels more like a car dealership than a place focused on animal welfare. You're constantly pressured with questions like, "Why aren't you taking the dog home today?" -- before you've even had a chance to process anything. Then, when you finally ask about the price, you're hit with a fee close to $5,000. It's outrageous and we will never be going back read more

Petland was a very good experience. I felt like they listened and had an amazing helper named Sarah who not only helped us find our little love but listened to our story and made us feel heard. All of the staff was great but if you go and Sarah is there don't bat an eye she was amazing and so kind. read more

6k for a little Victorian bull puppy, looked at breeders with the same breed...only 4.5k. This place is a scam, preferably only buy from breeders. They tried placing vet bills etc. , yet the breeders I've looked around already have all this (including replacement fee) and still is placed arnd 4.5k! NOT ONLY THAT, the original price was 8k! yeah I may want insurance on my pup and make sure he's healthy, but his life shouldn't be worth almost 10k just to find a home! 40% off for the dog...still 6k?! $500 to keep for a day (not refundable) goes toward dog IF bought. I am a 19 yr old, and it's always been my dream to have a bulldog, yet I have to buy a whole house just to get the dog...? #Free Porky read more

I was quite literally FORCED into getting a dog from them. I constantly told our sales rep IAN that I wasn't interested in buying a dog yet they insisted on shoving an ipad in my face full of nonexistent "perks" that would come with buying this dog. I love my fur baby but I wasn ready/still not ready for this dog and what comes with it. I should followed my first mind and turned away but, that's very hard to do when you have a sales rep forcing a dog down your throat. Look away and save yourself 6k. read more

I had never heard of Petland until today. We saw a guy spinning a sign and decided to stop. Holy shit! Please do not buy a dog here. This place is a total scam! When the guy told us the French bulldogs ranged from $8-11k i almost fell out. Do some research and watch your six. But no matter what, get your pet somewhere else. read more

STOP SUPPORTING PETLAND!!! THEY NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN FOR ANIMAL NEGLIGENCE AND ABUSE!!!! The advertisement that they are under new ownership/management does not mean the same issues as before are not happening. There is still innocent animals being mistreated. My friend had this dog for ONE WEEK. Before this sweet baby died. His brain was full of fluid, he was blind, and having seizures. Petland refuses to take ownership and claims they have their dogs checked every two weeks by a veterinarian, but my friend's vet immediately knew there was serious health issues with their dog within minutes of examining him. It starts with the breeders not being reputable, but Petland is equally at fault. PLEASE SHARE! STOP SUPPORTING BUSSINESSES LIKE PETLAND WHO NEGLECT THESE ANIMALS! TYLER, DO SOMETHING! This is disgusting. Please fill out a report of Neglect on SPCA OF EAST TEXAS! https://spcaeasttx.com/report-cruelty/ or contact Tyler animal Control to report this bussiness! I just bought a puppy from Petland in Tyler on Easter weekend. He was diagnosed with anemia and dehydration within 36 hours of coming home with me. My vet stated the problem has been going on for a while. I got the medication and changed his food and he is doing much better now. I haven't even had the puppy two weeks yet and have spent over $1,000 at the vet. They state the puppy comes with a health guarantee but don't let that fool you. I started a claim with them only to find out that they will only reimburse for medications and nothing else. The will be sending me a check for $175. They won't pay for hospital bills or diagnostic tests. This place is a joke and should not be able to sell ANYTHING. THEY NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN. read more

It's unfortunate that I haven't found anywhere else in town to buy marine fish and coral frags. The person I spoke with yesterday was horrible. All I asked was if they had clown fish because I didn't realize there was a whole other row of salt water tanks, and then she scoffed at my decision to start with a larger tank. On top of that, every tank was filthy and sad, and I would not feel comfortable introducing anything from this store into my tank at home. read more

Just got our pup and had him for a little over a week. We haven't taken him out anywhere or near any other dog since he's not fully vaccinated. Went to the vet today to find out he has Giardia. Please look it up. He's also battling a "kennel cough" and on his second antibiotic. We spent almost more than $6k for him and now have to deal with this. I'd be very careful to buy from this place especially at this price. read more

If I could leave zero stars if I could. Place smelled bad. All the fish tanks were disgusting. Very little product assortment and all the live animals seemed unhappy :( will not return read more

DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST. Petland is 100% puppy mills. Petland purchased puppies have a reputation for having to be euthanized after adoption because of various illnesses. Either that or an extremely high vet bill. Respiratory disease is the most common thing vets see due to the conditions they are living in with the high amount of dogs, poor ventilation and cleaning standards, and lack of veterinary care during their time in the puppy mill and Petland. Other situations vets see that don't necessarily end in death (but can) include an array of genetic problems, parvo, portosystemic shunts, or general failure to thrive issues like hypoglycemia. I'm not surprised since they eat, sleep, poop, and pee in cramped, tiny glass prisons. I went to visit the other day and a puppy was covered in its own fecal matter while the other one was trying to eat the poop. It's 24/7 torture for every animal here, like a chaotic petting zoo with no rest and love. I don't know how they are still in business. People still buy their animals every single day and with the vast amount of information and horror stories out there they are somehow still giving them business.. Sad. read more

Petland Tyler - Pet Stores Near Me - Tyler, Texas

We went into Petland on a fluke after seeing someone spinning a PUPPIES sign on the Loop. We'd been looking for a maltipoo puppy which are apparently hard to find around here. Well, God was in control because one had arrived 4 hours prior to our visit! She hadn't even been bathed yet when I insisted on seeing her and they gladly bathed her and brought her out to us. We already knew she was ours and despite the ridiculous price they charged us, we thought saving her life was far more important than the money. She did come with a cart full of puppy supplies including a crate, heartbeat pillow, toys, food and practically anything one might need who has never had a pet before. They manager did mislead us about vet bills and we caught on immediately that Petland is all about the money but again, saving the life of this precious girls was worth it. After getting her home, we discovered she had giardia. Three rounds of medication, washing bedding, etc daily for weeks at a time to ensure she heals, was a major inconvenience and we think Petland should have compensated us for the vet bills. Again, the life of the puppy meant more to us than the money so we decided to put that frustration aside. The vet this Petland uses is a story of its own and I have reviewed them as well. (Premier Veterinary Hospital on Broadway) They got one star. I give 2 stars to Petland because the young guy who initially assisted us and had the puppy bathed so we could meet her was friendly, understanding, and willing to go the extra mile. Also because they do offer free training classes for the life of the dog if I understand correctly. read more

I bought two guinea pigs from this store on two separate occasions both females. One of them turned out to be pregnant. Not what I wanted but she was mine now . I kept the babies until they were done nursing from mom , gave them away and had one left . The tyler store told me I could surrender the last baby to them for them to sell only if I surrendered it with the cage . So I would have to buy the mother of this baby that I'm keeping another cage because they would only take a surrender with cage. Bad business Tyler read more

Pricing?? Wanted to bring daughter down to visit puppy we saw online. Called and asked if that one still available (knowing sales happen daily & websites aren't updated moment to moment) response was immediate "Yeah, we still have 'em"..he never even asked which breed. Asked price range, range not quote but price range to be certain she would not be disappointed if not in my budget and couldn't bring home.Nope. "policy price is in store only" .I again explained want to be certain I can get one she finds, again a flat no. Guess the sicker pnes are cheaper?? Why not price for breeds? So crass with human how uncaring are they with animals. Cautionary tale. Will find legit breeder. read more

Some friends of mine had a really poor experience when working with the associate named Richard in small animals when they visited just recently. Just really rude and snippy, unhelpful, and left a really bad taste in their mouths. Very unlikely to revisit the location due to this associate The area the small animals were kept in was absolutely rancid as well, it smelled like old litterboxes and puppy pads, and the reptiles were in sorry condition. This store really should reevaluate how it's running things. read more

Giving any establishment a one star review is pretty extreme, but if I could give zero stars, Petland would 100% deserve it. Their employees are rude, unprofessional, and possess zero knowledge about the animals in their care. Petland charges thousands of dollars for puppies that shouldn't cost nearly half their asking price, and the conditions that these poor puppies are living in are inexcusable. The animals stay in their tiny display cases with no human interaction or exercise other than when customers ask to see them, and they sit in their own feces for hours at a time. I was so shocked I completely forgot to take pictures. The puppies are so unstimulated and frustrated that they are borderline aggressive and they say it's simply "the puppy faze". No, it's not. These dogs are going insane doing nothing in those glass boxes with no toys or enrichment, and if you're going to charge me thousands for a puppy I would like for it to be taken care of prior to it being in my ownership. read more

Petland Tyler - Our new baby girl - Pet Stores Near Me - Tyler, Texas

We had a great experience getting a surprise puppy for our daughter! Thank you Halleigh!!!

Alex was awesome! I suffer from mutism and he was super patient with me having to basically communicate via text the whole time and helped me put together everything to expect when buying a snake. Super nice guy, amazing employee, and would 100% say that he needs a raise! read more

I wish this place cared for the reptiles and amphibians like they do those dogs. Almost everytime i've been here i've seen multiple dead lizards and frogs. Once there was a chameleon that was dried up like they haven't checked on it in weeks. My husband bought a frog there once and they put on hand sanitizer to pick the frog up. and if they actually knew anything about these animals the only thing you put on your hands to touch a frog is soap and water!! these weirdos hold a snake once in their life and think they know everything. We've tried to call corporate multiple times. nothing ever changes. A frog we bought from there one time got a skin disease we brought it back to store and all the frogs from the same terrarium were all dead. they way they reacted it seemed like they didn't check on those frogs for days. most pets stores try to help your animal when it's sick. petsmart recommends you to a hospital for frogs!! i'm pretty sure they just took our frog to the back and threw it away. then had the audacity to ask if we just wanted a new one. don't give this company your money they suck read more

I asked her again in case I heard wrong, but nope, only way she could tell me any info on the dog that was stepping in the other dogs poop that was in the same cage with was if I went and waited in a cubby with that dog while the associate went to the manager to find info.... i left..... I don't even know how this place is in business. They buy from puppy mills and breeders who don't know what they're doing. They don't take care of these puppies at all or do the necessary vet checkups because this place is a parvo playground... if you don't know what parvo is look it up. These puppies are ridiculously over priced I don't know how people believe these prices are a "good deal" also to put the cherry on top the puppies that do not sell they put down and quote from an actual employee "it's what is best for them" how is killing a puppy is what's best for them bc they don't get bought?? Make it make sense!!! They need to be shut down read more

The store has deceptive business practices. They do not disclose the lending rate at the time of purchase which is a whopping 44.67%. They upsell things that are basically not needed. The staff lies to yiu when purchasing. read more

This is probably one of the worst places to purchase an animal or anything of the like. The best thing for this place would be to shut down. I came to just to check out their fish tanks for plants. They have really horrible looking fish tanks that have a problem with algae and snails. All the tanks are dimly lit with what seems to be a poor choice of fish and plants. Of course they have what everyone else has with nothing to set them apart from other pet like stores. The fish tanks again were, for me, a huge let down. How does a pet store have such crappy fish tanks that look like they would be better off broken down and completely rebuilt. They should shut this place down and start with all new tanks. Disgusting. read more

My fiancé worked up here all of two hours when I get a call from her that she over heard the other girl workers talking mess about her and at the end called her a bitch. Keep in mind this is her first day and she has only been working there for two hours so there was no way she had pissed anybody off. She pulled the girl manager aside and asked about it and the girl manager said and I quote " these girls and me are like a family and if we don't like you, you won't work here and if you don't fucking like it you can get out" my fiancé then was very shocked so she just walked out. If you are looking to work here please save your time! read more

not nice. wouldn't let me pet the dog. wouldn't let my daughter inside the room. had to wait outside. threatened to kick us out.

BUYER BEWARE: We purchased a dog from them and spent several thousand dollars. When we went to pay for the dog, we were charged an additional $149.99 for the microchip and $149.99 for their puppy for a lifetime program, which we were told by our salesperson that this program was included in the price of the dog. When I called their customer service number about it, I was also told it was included and was transferred to "someone that could help me". That person told me that it was mandatory and not included. Essentially, the price they charge for the dog is actually $300 more because of their mandatory add ons. To top it off, we took the puppy to the vet 2 days after purchase and spent an additional $100+ because it had intestinal worms. Buyer beware if your looking for a pup here. read more

Please don't support this business. Nothing about it is ethical. I saw a bleeding hamster in a cage one time. They sell puppies from mills and charge around a thousand dollars for them and it smells bad and anyone can play with any of the pets at any time. Makes me depressed to go. read more

They have quite à scam going on...They over price their puppies and try to get you to finance the dog...A mixed puppy on the net would run anywhere between 450.00 and 900.00...Petland wanted 6400.00 dollars. But you can finance...get, the puppy would end up costing 12,000.00 . Yep, what à scam. read more

They are so misleading, and we drove an hour and half to just see the dog to find out that the sale pitch cost more than the dog. they want to force you to get package that is thousands of dollars that you don't want or need. I wouldn't recommend wasting your time. read more

Never do business with a company who won't discuss the price range of a product. I don't like to think of puppies as product but Petland is selling them for profit so there you have it. To my dismay, they don't even offer any reason e.g, logic for not giving a price via phone or email. I can only assume they use emotion or deceptive trade practices to market and sell their dogs. read more

I would leave 0 stars if I could the only thing that was good about my experience of buying a dog from these people was the help of getting me out the door other then that. Nothing. We got our dog to the vet first check up sick with Coccidia. Had to get that treated then 6 months down the road our pup keeps yelping while getting off the couch or after running. Took to vet again to find out he has growth issues in hips and spine that can not be fixed with surgery now our pup has to live in pain the rest of his life. read more
