The way she intentionally uses curriculum for experience and confidence building with her new puppies and meticulously discovers personalities so that families can find the right fit is truly outstanding. Our Sunshine pup Millie Jubilee is now 7 months old, and she is a delight to all. Critical life decisions are worth considering carefully, and the combination of the size and temperament of Laura's dogs as a result of her program, along with her personal commitment to her clientele every step of the way is absolutely priceless. ⁃ Cheryl Lowe, Washington State

Puppies are handraised using the Empowered BAB advanced service dog curriculum by Jeanette Forray and start neonatal exercises and massage at 3 days. Puppy curriculum starts at 4 weeks to increase confidence and trust in humans. Temperament testing is used to help families find the dog which is the best match for them. While we specialize in psychiatric service dogs, we place dogs in other service roles, therapy, facility placements as well as pets and emotional support animals. Pocket Full of Sunshine participates in community education and collaboration with other breeders encouraging ethical breeding practices. We were co-organizers of the Northeast Ohio Breeders Conference in 2023. Wellness and nutrition is essential to our program. Our dogs and puppies are fed pawTree food, nutrient dense, no by-products and made in the USA. We provide free wellness evaluations to pet owners as well. We advocate for healthy weight and nutrition for all dogs.

I should have walked away but as it goes once you see the adorable puppies you get quickly attached. Fast forward to 8 years later, my golden retriever from Nathan died from cardiac hemangiosarcoma which has a high hereditary component. He does not do the necessary health testing to ensure the puppies are healthy. If you don't want your heart broken stay away from this backyard breeder.

We bought our 9 wk old golden retriever puppy here from Nathan for a very reasonable price…read more Initially I was skeptical because Nathan did not have a website and his price was so good. But I went through with a visit because he answered every question I had thoroughly and quickly. Upon arriving at Nathan's family home where they breed goldens I felt very good about our decision. When you first pull up, there is a large professional AKC breeder sign. Down the drive way there is an large fenced in, grassy area and huge building devoted to these dogs. We were greeted by several very happy golden retrievers behind the fence. Nathan came out to meet us and was incredibly friendly and helpful. He introduced us to our new pup's parents, both looked very healthy and well-adjusted. Our little guy, Andy, was very sweet and happy-go-lucky. Nathan provided us with all of the official AKC paperwork, along with shot information (Nathan and his son give the animals their shots under the supervision of a veterinarian). He explained to us that, in his 12 years of breeding, he has never had anyone call him back with concerns of genetic, hip, or other major health issues. But encouraged us not to hesitate to contact him if we encountered any issues. He also sent us in our way with a bag of dog food and requested we send him updates with photos! I would absolutely recommend this breeder to a friend. His style of breeding is more "old-school" with fairer prices and no website, which I ultimately appreciated. UPDATE: Andy is now 1 year and 5 months! He is in perfect health, very well trained, and is soooo sweet. He has the funniest personality! Andy is the greatest thing that's ever happened to me and my fiancé.

The BEST breeder EVER…read more Something I appreciate but never would have thought of myself is waiting 6 weeks to "pick" our puppy on "puppy picking day." It makes so much more sense to hold off on your decision until the pups develop their personalities instead of solely going off looks. Jennifer is super thorough and maintains constant communication throughout the entire adoption process. She was constantly sending us pictures and updates in our group chat of puppy parents. Before we even thought of the question, Jennifer already had given us the answer! Her constant communication was something that truly made the entire experience as easy and enjoyable as possible. That's is the way it's supposed to be - adopting a puppy should be more fun that it is stressful! I'm from California. Jennifer personally delivered my puppy to me. YES, across the country! She flew with her at no extra cost to me (other than flight costs). She left her home at 3am and got back home at midnight. She had 4 layovers and nearly 24 hours of continuous traveling. Now THAT kind of effort is unheard of. She has so much kindness to give and it truly shows through her breeding program. While there are so many amazing components to Doodles & Doxies program, the true dealbreaker is the training they do BEFORE your puppy comes home. My girl came home 100% crate trained and 95% potty trained. I was expecting long, sleepless nights with an unhappy puppy crying in her crate. Not only am I happy that I didn't have to deal with the headache that comes along with crate training, I am more happy than my dog was never miserable and in distress while in her crate. A puppy coming home 95% potty trained sounds like a fairy tale. I knew that they were beginning potty training before they arrived home, but I did not expect this a perfectly potty trained pup. Once again, Doodles & Doxies exceeded expectations! I'll only get puppies from Doodles and Doxies from now on. They are the best from coast to coast! I highly recommend them.

We work hard starting with genetically tested parents. We take great thought in putting together parents that compliment each other in genetics, temperments and looks. Next we feed all our dogs with the most holistic food we have found to make sure the foundation of their health is solid. We have an amazing relationship with our vet who oversees the mothers during heat. When the pups are born, we catalog their journey during their 8-9 weeks with us with pictures and videos to share with all their waiting families. We start these sweet pups with Early Neurological Training, desensitizing them to things that will bring fear later on. Helping them adapt to change. We teach them to relieve themselves in one area of their whelping space, keeping where they sleep clean. This helps with potty training later on. We start potty training at 6 weeks old, and crate training at 7 weeks old. We are doing our best to make the transition from our home to yours as stress free as possible! Please don't hesitate to reach out if you want to learn more about our program.
