We asked many questions and of course received very suspect answers, "why would you need a air bubbler? Just wait and if the fish start gasping for air at the surface then you should get one." Hmmm... we should wait for the poor fish to start suffocating eh? After the 'expert' advise we decided to start looking elsewhere for our aquarium keeping knowledge and we happily stumbled across Franco's Aquariums! A wonderful paradise for swimming friends of all types. The selection of gilled acquaintances was absolutely overwhelming, where to start? Who swims well with who? How much do they eat? In comes Linda, an upbeat kind and straightforward woman (not at all impressed by the aforementioned pet store). Her vast knowledge of this untapped world was astounding, she easily figured what we wanted in our tank and who would accompany them. It was a wonderful lesson, every one of her recommendations was a home run so we left with 9 wet companions, and 4 days later we returned for another 5. All as healthy as can be with personalities all in their own. It doesn't just end after you leave the store either, she makes sure you're tank is habitable and safe by checking the condition of your water frequently, which brings some peace of mind! We are excited to continue visiting Franco's for more wet pets and to expand our knowledge of the water world! Thank you for being a fantastic family owned business!!

Also, I was told to buy a water test kit even though my water seemed fine (after she tested it).

The only REAL problem with the entire store is the checkout and the till staff when you want to GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY !! You can go there at peak times with the entire line full or be the only one in the store and have to wait, every , single, time. I've been there and waited while the person on desk #1 will eventually wander back over to it after having a lovely chat with the girl on #3. I was there on Dec 11 and dropped a couple of hundred on dog food and that's how it happened! You will actually feel your life ebbing away and slipping closer to death waiting in that line, its THAT bad. (grin) I don't know if its their system, or the staff training, or the steps in the checkout process, or what, but the waiting in that bloody line is beyond ridiculous. Maybe its deliberate because of all the impulse purchase stuff they have CRAMMED in to the check out aisle. ...... it sure feels that way.

However, if you view their website and find a pet you wish to adopt, you must make an appointment to see that particular animal. The staff is friendly and informative regarding the condition and expectation of the animals that are available for adoption. The fees are much higher than I expected but the pets are microchipped, come with 6 months free pet license, 6 weeks trial insurance of some sort, spayed or neutered, and have all the shots except rabies. Hopefully, they will be able to increase the size and services of the facility.

Since expanding their raw food selection, Global has not kept up with educating their staff about canine nutrition, which made for an extremely awkward and painful experience listening to a staff member try to make it sound like she knew what she was talking about. Global has clearly caught onto a market that is demanding raw food nutrition for their pets, but has fallen sorely behind in backing these products up. There are many other highly knowledgeable sources available in the city if you are looking to buy raw food for your dogs, and I would highly recommend giving your business to people whose passion is extending genuine knowledge and sound advice regarding canine nutrition. In fact, when Milo goes outside to potty, his feet get so cold, he hobbles around as though his legs are broken until we get inside to the warmth. I knew I had to get him boots at minimum. And, I wasn't looking forward to it. I know how dogs HATE boots. Thank goodness for Global Pet Foods. One of the staff members energetically ran over to help us try on boots. She found the perfect ones for them, and helped me get them on. She made the process so easy and even brought treats over for Milo so that we could make sure he could walk in his new boots -- he wasn't wanting to move otherwise! Then, we moved onto coats. They had so many options and sizes. I found him a perfectly fitting Canada Pooch one with a cute scarf to match. I just HAD to... (haha)! When I was checking out, I was laughing with the ladies running the store about all the hilarious winter gear for dogs out there. I brought up this knit hat with braids that I saw on the Canada Pooch website, and we just died laughing. They said they would like to try ordering some and would call me if they end up getting them in stock. Such a fun place to shop with great customer service. She was groomed down to the skin on her belly and between her legs making it very painful to walk. Took her to the vet where I was told she either had severe razor burn or an infection due to improper sterilization of the clippers. I left the vet with painkillers and a numbing Mousse. Tried for a couple days to reach anyone at the Shampooch shop but the phone was not answered. After about 5 days I got a hold of the Owner Jessie who told me that he would get back to me after he spoke to the groomer. When he called me back he said that the groomer did nothing wrong and that was the end of it. So basically I was told that my dog's pain and $300 vet bill was not his issue. I came to Shampooch because of the former owner Cheryl who was a fantastic person who truly loved animals and only hired the best groomers. After spending a week looking into my best friend's eyes and seeing the pain in them I will not be coming back to Shampooch and if you care about your furry child you should not as well. The majority of the 5star reviews were for the previous owner, this shop has changed

I was also surprised that when I told the employees they also didn't know that other locations had dogs and they didn't . As for the store I feel like having the dogs, perhaps, has to do with the size of the store and this store did feel smaller than the other locations. However, it felt like they were trying to put the same amount of items in this store, therefore, making it feel very crowded and smaller isle space.
