I was looking for a special cake for my 40th birthday, and it needed to be in my hometown. But it's always tricky to find something delicious that fits my gluten and dairy-free needs (with a few nut allergies). And I don't like ultra-sweet cake either. Petite Paleo Bakery's selection sounded like just the thing. I was immediately sold on the idea of a petite date pudding cake with vanilla cardamom frosting. Unique and just the kind of flavors I love! Texting worked well to order, coordinated payment via Venmo, and picked up from a cooler. The owner was very responsive and followed up with helpful details, and everything went smoothly for an early morning pickup. The cake was excellent! It survived a two-hour drive unharmed and was satisfying for five guests, with enough for leftovers the next day. The frosting was creamy with great cardamom flavor, the date cake was moist, dense, and sweet but not saccharine, and had a lovely spice undercurrent with a perfect touch of salt. An amazing fall birthday treat. (And I felt great *after* eating it too.) Highly recommend! If I lived closer, I'd likely be making up more special occasions to order cake here ;) read more

Disclaimer: I am not Paleo, am not on any special diets, and I have no dietary restrictions. I recently met the sweet owner of PPB at a Yelp event and firmly decided on supporting their small business for an upcoming birthday. I asked Rose what the most popular cakes are, and decided on one of the most popular, the Luscious Lemon. The cakes come in several sizes feeding 2-4, 6-8, etc. I really wanted something for 4-6 people but after speaking with Rose, it seemed the 6-8 person option was what I was looking for. Rose described the cake for 2-4 as being smaller than a Costco muffin and slight larger than a cupcake. Hence why I decided on the 6-8. Pickup was a breeze. I waited in the pickup lot for just a couple minutes before Rose happily delivered my cake. The presentation was nice. I really liked the packaging as it showed all the ingredients for the cake and the frosting. There was even a QR code that would link you to tips on serving/storing the cake. Nice touch. As instructed, I left the cake out of the fridge for about 2 hours and it was time to dig in. The cake reminded us of a very lightly sweetened cornbread. The frosting was "buttery", but in a unique way. As the frosting hit my lips it instantly coated them like butter. The cake smelled "lemony" when cutting into it, however I didn't get that same lemon flavor when eating it. And even though I'm not a fan of super sweet frosting, I desperately wanted more sugar in this frosting. I envisioned a PPB Paleo cake as one made with whole and possibly organic ingredients, having less sugar, or honey, and one that uses almond or coconut flour instead of unbleached white flour. While that may be mostly correct, I think I SEVERELY underestimated the whole "less sugar" part. That was my bad. Here's a rule of thumb that might help. Paleo and organic ingredients are simply more expensive than your typical cake ingredients. Expect your Paleo cake to be several times smaller to reflect that. The cake for 6-8, $50, was smaller than I anticipated. Working with Rose's PPB was super easy and extremely professional. I really loved the packaging and presentation of the cake. read more

I ordered a chocolate grain free cake with vanilla frosting for my 30th birthday celebration and it was absolutely delicious! I couldn't even tell it was a grain free cake! It was presented nicely, clearly labeled with ingredients, and it was super easy to get my questions answered and my order set up with Rose! Coordinating the pick up and getting directions was simple as well. I would highly recommend this business and absolute deliciousness. I will definitely be ordering from Rose again read more

I randomly found this business by searching for keto friendly/low sugar cakes for my dad's birthday. We don't have any dietary restrictions per se, but my dad has some markers for pre diabetes and so is watching his sugar intake. That context is important because this review is coming from people who love food and don't typically restrict any ingredients. And the chocolate cake with chocolate frosting we ordered did NOT disappoint us!! No, it does not taste like a typical wheat flour cake (I think Rose, the owner, uses almond flour), but it totally stands on its own! It's a bit less sweet than a traditional cake, but still rich and the frosting was so "fudgey" and decadent. I felt guilty because I kept going back for seconds and thirds despite this being a special treat for my dad lol (he loved it too!). Probably the biggest compliment is how much my 5 year old loved it and kids that age don't lie. Cake aside, Rose was so lovely to work with. She was super responsive and accommodating. I contacted her via text on a Tuesday evening and I needed the cake for that Friday afternoon which she was able to do for a small rush fee (totally worth it!). Bottom line, I will absolutely order from Petite Paleo again! read more

Every major holiday or occasion includes a dessert from Petite Paleo Bakery! From my gender reveal cupcakes to my husbands birthday to Christmastime, we've had some form of cake from Rose. Each bite has been absolutely divine. Rose is also excellent at listening to her customers, is very patient and very accommodating to whatever dietary restriction or requirement you may have. I didn't want the typical pink/blue colors indicating gender for my cupcakes, and she worked with me to come up with different colors and flavors for the sex of my baby (it's a boy!) I highly recommend Rose for any dessert needs, not just if you're trying to be healthy, but for any time! But also especially if you're following the paleo or keto diets. read more

"Muffins are for people that don't have the guts to order cake for breakfast" - some pastry chef character on a short lived tv series about the cooks in a restaurant. I got the luscious lemon & a German chocolate. Both were flavorful, moist, and filling! Because they're healthier than the average cake, I might've had cake for breakfast, too, and it got me through to lunch without hunger pangs. Very pleased with the level of friendly communication & accommodations for various needs around food. When going to a gathering of about a dozen people and am tasked with bringing dessert, Rose can make anything delicious while also observing any variety of restrictions. It's helpful & thoughtful- when you never know if someone will be vegan or keto or diabetic or gluten free/celiac - to just bring a yummy cake that 99% of the population can eat without getting an allergic reaction or have GI issues later! The hosts and the guests appreciate being able to have attractive & delicious offerings that a substantial majority of any group can enjoy. Order in advance for more options. I also appreciated that Rose is committed to flavors being fresh and real. Some of her flavors are seasonal (strawberry, stone fruits, etc) and she simply won't venture to make certain icings or cakes if the season hasn't produced the fruits to ripeness yet. Cake for breakfast! read more

I had been struggling to find a healthy cake that could accommodate my dietary needs and I casually ran into Petite Paleo Bakery on google. I contacted them right away and we began planning. I was going for a gothic theme cake and I noticed none were made like I wanted it but I figured I would ask. Rose experimented with colors and consistencies to make sure the cake was how I wanted it! She communicated to well throughout the whole process which was amazing. Can I just saw that the cake exceeded my expectations!! It was a hit! It looked beautiful and everyone loved it! Who knew such a healthy cake could taste sooo good! I'll definitely come back and order more from her again!! ***Note: I added the roses and cake topper Oh and the label was such a nice touch read more

I ordered a German Chocolate Cake for my fiance's graduation. He's on a strict AIP diet (no grain, no wheat, no dairy) as he has an autoimmune disorder. I loved all the ingredients were clearly listed! Rose fulfilled our order on fairly short notice. He was absolutely thrilled!! He hadn't had 'cake' in ages! Some we shared and polished off the rest ourselves! We'll definitely order again but wish the price point wasn't quite so steep but we can't find anything comparable ...top quality and totally delicious! Thanks Rose! read more

I was looking for a smash cake for my daughter's first birthday but due to certain dietary restrictions I knew I needed a cake that was a healthier option and with clean ingredients. My sister in law showed me Petite Paleo Bakery and from the reviews I saw, I knew I needed to place an order. I ordered a mini paleo chocolate cake and mini paleo vanilla cake and let me tell you, we all loved it! The chocolate was rich without being overly sweet like most cakes and just had the perfect balance. Vanilla was also so delicious, just such a buttery smooth texture and again not overly sweet at all. I definitely had to stop myself from wanting to eat all of what was left. The ordering process was easy and response time was quick. Customer service was excellent and so friendly throughout the ordering process to picking up the cakes. Thank you so much Petite Paleo Bakery for making the most delicious cakes for my daughter's 1st. I look forward to ordering in the future. read more

As a girl determined to find new desserts that are gluten free and tasty, I definitely do my research here on yelp. One ordinary afternoon I was yelping around for gluten free cake and Petite Paleo popped up. I never heard of it, so I immediately checked out the photos and started to drool with envy! I couldn't wait to try it out so I contacted them through their website and requested an order. Within 12 hours I received a reply with a date and time that I could pick up some delectable treats. I chose a mini vanilla cake ($22) and a half dozen chocolate chip cookies ($18) for my order. The ordering was very prompt and seamless. I had no issues with confirming my order. I paid through Venmo and patiently waited for the day to arrive! I was given a home address to pick up the goods and we met outside (both masked). Rose was really nice and friendly and her products were packed so cute! I barely made it to the main road before I opened up the cookie bag and tried one! Delicious was my first thought. They are moist with a nice subtle almond flavor and chocolate chips! I enjoyed these very much. My bigger purchase was the mini vanilla cake and it too was equally savory. It was rich and dense, with a nice icing that tasted of honey. I definitely enjoyed both. My daughter (who is 7 and not GF) loved both of the treats I shared with her. I definitely would recommend this bakery to anyone looking for GF, vegan or paleo desserts! I hope she is able to expand her baking empire into stores where it would be accessible to those who don't yelp to find her. read more

Petite Paleo Bakery is a hidden gem that I want to share with everyone. I am borderline diabetic and redoing my nutrition plan. Rose was amazing and very informative. She worked with me and my nutritional needs. I ordered a lemon cake with vanilla frosting to satisfy my sweet tooth and accompany my tea and coffee and avoid the high sugar. The cake was so moist and refreshing. The frosting was sweet enough without overpowering the cake and hurting my teeth. My young daughter loved the cake, too. I highly recommend Petit Paleo Bakery for pastries. Your cravings will be satisfied and your body will be happy for staying on track. OMG! had no idea this place existed, as I was coming down from LA for the long weekend. For three ladies celebrating golden birthdays Rose totally accommodated every need. Knowing that these cakes filled our bellies and the flavors were definitely mouth watering. We went with the salted caramel cake, red velvet and the dos leches. In all of my years of being dairy free- never would i imagine we would have a dos leches cake! My favorite cake growing up- it definitely lived up to my expectations. Let's just say all 3 cakes were fully devoured and would totally order again! Thank you for making them absolutely yummy!! read more

We used Petite Paleo Bakery to make smash cakes for our twin boys' first birthday in the hopes of not giving them too much added sugar with a regular cake. The mini vanilla cake was perfect to celebrate my birthday!! It's so difficult to find healthy bakeries that use ingredients you can trust and I was so excited to find this in my online search and even more excited that the cake lived up to my expectations, which has not always been the case with healthier bakeries in the past. I ordered a small vanilla smash cake for my son's birthday and it was INCREDIBLE! The size was perfect as he did not consume a ton, but more than anything, the flavors were delicious! Rose was incredibly friendly, professional, communicative, and accommodating. I was able to place a last minute order for a chocolate keto cake with whipped frosting in time for a birthday. The cake had a clean, minimalist presentation with ingredients to match. I was presently surprised to see the ingredients were vegan (which meant I could steal a piece of cake for myself :]). The cake was perfectly moist--a hard thing to accomplish for a keto cake! The chocolate was very rich without being overly sweet, and was complemented by the subtle but creamy frosting. Rose recommended we eat it at room temperature, but a few days into eating the cake we actually found it was delicious when ever so slightly heated up. Thank you again Rose, you really helped make this a special birthday celebration (even despite lockdown, haha). Making a keto and vegan cake so well is a difficult feat, so I was very impressed by Rose's skills. I would highly recommend Petite Paleo Bakery for anyone looking for delicious baked goods made with care. read more
