I loved the tree at the entrance to the store used to display local jewellery! I found most of the clothing a little out of my price range - but many beautiful pieces none the less. The studio is fairly spacious given the size, and kept neat and tidy. The class I recently tried here was called Poundfit (by Tracey K). You use these cool lime-green drumsticks called Pound RipStix - specially designed for beating objects (floor, the other stick, mats)! It's a great whole-body workout that focuses mainly on core, thighs, and arms/shoulders. Also, if you like to make noise, relieve stress, smack things together, or feel like a 10 year old while getting your sweat on, this class is for you :) There's some coordination-involved movements, but as long as you move with the beat in some form and smiling because you're having a good time then it's great! In other Ricki's I have received great service, but this one not so much. If I'm in the area, I may pop in but I would not make a special trip to come to this store.

First walking in the store was pleasant enough, I was greeted and told about the sale they're having on all their jeans. But there came a turning point, I was approached by the same sales clerk four times! First two were to tell me about the sale on jeans. I thought nothing of it, there were a lot of people in the store maybe the clerk forgot she'd already seen and approached me at the entrance to the store. Third time I was looking at a sweater, I was approached and I was asked if I needed a size I said no thanks I see that there isn't a small. The fourth was to ask me if I would consider another colour. At that point I thought wow this girl is persistent! So I figured if she's not going to let me shop on my own I might as well make conversation. Seeing the condition of the store and having experience in retail myself I made comment in sympathizing with all the endless folding they must do ( making this comment while she was trying to get me to consider the sweater she was showing me). In response as politely as I could I said that it was not really my taste, she seem to take offense. My last remark to her was to say: "Thanks for your help but I think I will keep looking". Her reply was: "Well thanks for letting me unfold the sweater". Is this an anomaly in service? I hope so!! We all have off days but this is no way to treat customers especially if you want them to be repeat customers.

This store is obviously catered for the female customers as the girl's section is about two-thirds of the store. On the same note, the guys side is not too bad itself. Service here has been difficult to find, and I shop here not expecting a sales attendant to help me. The store is very clean and they have loud fast-paced music pumping to just try and get you excited and shop more. If you've been dragged here, there is a couch and tv at the back of the store; although this is usually just playing accompanying music video to the store music, it is at least something to watch and the couches can be comfortable especially when walking all around the mall. They have plenty of fittings rooms so there is rarely a long wait, and if there are staff there, they will help you look for your size.

It's just that these shops look so cute on the outside! Windscape is actually a cute, bright yellow house, so if you didn't notice the sign outside you'd think it was actually someone's house. The basement might be, but the top floor is where the shop is located. It's small and cozy, stocked with sophisticated casual and business wear for women 50+, I would say. Seriously, my grandmother would love this place. While I can't wear the clothes here, I drool over the jewelry. There's never an age limit when it comes to jewelry! I fell in love with a handcrafted silver ring from Israel. They have stunning pieces here, and you'll probably have a hard time finding similar stuff elsewhere. I also saw some recycled silk bags that were a lot cheaper than what I had paid for mine somewhere else (don't you hate it when that happens?). Windscape also does custom work too, if a customer wanted a custom-made outfit especially for her. Pretty cool, if this was my demographic. But for now, at least there's the jewelry.

All Dots are like a thrift store version of Winners so you need to have time to hunt for the Easter Eggs or hidden treasures. Currently they have some pretty wicked novelty clearance items from Urban Outfitters as well as jewellery/accessories from Urban Outfitters. They have clothing brands from all over the world and they get progressively marked down; sign up for their emails for advance notice of sales and e-mail exclusive coupons. This is a great place for discounted books (I seriously found Choose Your Own Adventures in reprint at the other location for $3!!!!). They consistently have Dex clothing liquidations and other random brands including boutique brands. Today they had Eddie Bauer feather filled mittens! Definitely try your clothing on here though they do have a short 2 week exchange policy. They carry swimsuit 2 piece items throughout the year and usually around the $4-$8 price point. They carry the most random assortments but from time to time you'll find vinyl records, holiday greeting cards with the F-bomb in them, and funky magnets/office supplies. I've found sassy note pads here, great books for presents, hats galore (and usually about $5), runners for my kids (prices vary but cheap, cheap), and dresses for my daughter for under $5. Basically, you need to come here to figure out if this store is for you but plan on having some time to wander around and not be in a rush.

They go something like this: "Get down to Dots for the biggest blowout sale of the season! Mexx! Rock'n'Republic! Some other well-known brand name! Now a lesser-known brand name! Even lesser-known brand name! What is that, I've never even heard of that brand name! Jeans are $10! Shirts are $2! You can't miss this!" So, you can see why I was always a little bit skeptical. Why would I want jeans for $10? Those have to be knock-offs, or just terrible quality. Plus it never sounded like they carried a ton of brands I was super into. But I was having a girly day the other day (I know, that seems to be a theme in a lot of my reviews) and on my way back into the city from South Common I spotted Dots. Why not? I had half an hour to kill. Here's the thing about Dots. I can totally understand why someone would absolutely hate shopping here. It's like shopping at Winners, only more frustrating. The clothes are jam packed onto rack upon rack. And there are just so many racks. The items are helpfully organized by brand (and sometimes size as well), but that doesn't negate how completely overwhelming it is to walk in here. I would say that 95% of the clothes in Dots are things I would never wear. They're either off-trend, aimed at an older demographic, poor quality, or just plain ugly. But if you take your time, this place can be magic. I found the most beautiful dress I think I've ever seen. Regular $130 (and supposedly, would be more at other stores) marked down to $30. Bought it! Now, the zipper was broken, which cost me another $40 at the tailor's (I know, total rip-off, but that's a whole 'nother review), but that's still almost a 50% discount. Not too shabby. I also found two other very cute, age-appropriate modern working girl kind of tops. They were both really inexpensive and really pretty! I don't think I'll have the patience to shop here often, but it was definitely worth it to come by, and when the mood strikes me (and the sales are on), I'll be back.

They were sold out of most of my size which is a pretty average size (I understand it was just Christmas but they're advertising bra sales so you would think they would have inventory). The teen section is very small and located near the back where people wait for the changeroom. My daughter didn't want to go through all those people to look at panties. Staff were nice. Line moved quickly ish for try ons. Prices are expected.. I'll wait for sales and my size though.
