While the food is great when available, this is the third time I've been turned away as they have nothing prepared.

Pie Cloud - Lucious lime pie at Pie Cloud Calgary. Amazing.

Took home a chocolate cream pie. Disappointing. It was…read moremostly just 'sweet' with not much chocolate flavour. The crust was crumbly and insubstantial. For the price of the pie, I expected better than this. Sobeys does just as well.

Also, my mathematically inclined friends, did you know that Pie Cloud is named after Pi because the address is 314. There, you're smarter for eating pies. Yup. First of all Mac and Cheese pie is amazing. You should just order that to make sure you've truly lived. If you are ok with meat, there is a bacon lattice. If you're veggie inclined you get two sides - woots all around are called for with that. Lucky for you it's available lunch and dinner. I reluctantly tried the veggie pie once (to challenge myself) and it was also good and something I would love to order but I felt sad I didn't eat Mac and Cheese pie... so I guess I have my regular here. We tried brunch recently. The cure is freakin' HUGE and I can't believe someone would order that much food knowing the portion. I'm a food stealer and my husband has a hefty appetite and he openly encouraged the stealing because he was so full. He is in love with biscuits and gravy though but will likely order a more reasonable size meal next time. I throughly enjoyed my chocolate french toast and am looking forward to banana cream waffles sometime soon... mmmmm. And I've gotten this far without mentioning the sweet pies.... well... they are also great. I love the banana cream (wouldn't normally say this about banana cream ... well, ever), the sweet addiction is a seriously sweet treat (even I recommend sharing this because a little goes a long way. Also, a current seasonal selection is hot chocolate and they really really need to make this a full time pie. Chocolate pie forever please. Thanks. Overall, this place is worth a looksie and they deliver through skipthedishes if you don't want to go down there.

Silver Sage Beef

I got to try their entry for Alberta Burger Fest 2016 and it was amazing! Typically I'm not a fan of anything sweet on my burger (aside from ketchup or maybe sautéed onions) but this one might've just changed that opinion forever! Their bacon jam & house made ketchup really made my day. ;) It's a messy burger (as all good ones ought to be!) I recommend giving it a try! On another note I got the sweet potato fries and they were also spectacular! They're the wavy/crimped kind and I guess it's all that extra surface area that gets them extra crispy when fried. If you usually don't order sweet potato fries or are on the fence about them I'd recommend trying silver sage's, that little extra bit of seasoned crunch just might make a believer out of you!

Silver Sage cattle are raised primarily on grass, but if you are specifically interested, they can detail exactly what the cattle are fed as they are raised. They aren't fed animal by-products, and they aren't injected with synthetic hormones or theraputic antibiotics. These guys care, and after the recent XL Foods issues, consumers are more and more starting to care more too. They do tend to sell out of popular cuts early in the day / weekend, but you can pre-reserve anything you want ahead of time. Just pop by the booth and place an order for a future weekend, or give them an email / call. We've found this very helpful, because showing up at an early hour on the weekend isn't something we are particularly good at. They are also really helpful with cooking tips and recipes! The Eden - Duck & waffles

The duck & waffles was a confit duck leg, vanilla liege waffles, foie gras gravy with a bistro salad that had a yuzu vanilla vinaigrette. Duck was delicious. I liked the salad, but honestly felt that the vanilla in the vinaigrette would be best removed. However, that's my personal opinion. The waffles were... ok. It was like eating cake and bits of sugar. I mentioned to the server that the waffles had chunks of sugar in them, but she said that they were sugar coated. To be honest, I'm not convinced. there was chunks of white sugar, not a glaze...In the waffle itself. And the batter was very heavy, thick and cake like. Not the best waffles. French toast was great, very filling and delicious. It has a foie gras caramel, maple pecans, maple caramelized apples, whipped cream cheese and back bacon. This can easily be your new favourite. My mimosa was amazing, best mimosa I've honestly ever had. Americano wasn't really anything special, especially for $6. While it was a decent breakfast, I don't think I would order waffles again from here unless they change their recipe. I was also a little disappointed they didn't have more than 2 flavours of latte. I don't think I would return with the competition that's out there, but it wasn't bad.

The menu doesn't give you appetizer options so all they have are expensive mains. I ordered the cabbage rolls and basically it was very small amount of cabbage with tons of pork sausage for $34. Yes it was alright but that was it! No vegetables, no side starch. Sides are not even in the menu for you to order. The dish was way too heavy. My husband's gnocchi dish was mediocre as well. The service was good though. It wasn't their fault that the restaurant menu was so bad. I ended up leaving and headed to Norleys to order Empanadas. Overall we will not go back. Such a bad experience.
