Took home a chocolate cream pie. Disappointing. It was…read moremostly just 'sweet' with not much chocolate flavour. The crust was crumbly and insubstantial. For the price of the pie, I expected better than this. Sobeys does just as well.

Pie Cloud... what was life like without you? Oh yeah, I remember... I wasn't even sure I liked…read morepies. Well, life it much more open to pie now. Also, my mathematically inclined friends, did you know that Pie Cloud is named after Pi because the address is 314. There, you're smarter for eating pies. Yup. First of all Mac and Cheese pie is amazing. You should just order that to make sure you've truly lived. If you are ok with meat, there is a bacon lattice. If you're veggie inclined you get two sides - woots all around are called for with that. Lucky for you it's available lunch and dinner. I reluctantly tried the veggie pie once (to challenge myself) and it was also good and something I would love to order but I felt sad I didn't eat Mac and Cheese pie... so I guess I have my regular here. We tried brunch recently. The cure is freakin' HUGE and I can't believe someone would order that much food knowing the portion. I'm a food stealer and my husband has a hefty appetite and he openly encouraged the stealing because he was so full. He is in love with biscuits and gravy though but will likely order a more reasonable size meal next time. I throughly enjoyed my chocolate french toast and am looking forward to banana cream waffles sometime soon... mmmmm. And I've gotten this far without mentioning the sweet pies.... well... they are also great. I love the banana cream (wouldn't normally say this about banana cream ... well, ever), the sweet addiction is a seriously sweet treat (even I recommend sharing this because a little goes a long way. Also, a current seasonal selection is hot chocolate and they really really need to make this a full time pie. Chocolate pie forever please. Thanks. Overall, this place is worth a looksie and they deliver through skipthedishes if you don't want to go down there.

When in Alberta one must indulge in some quality Alberta beef! Picked up some burgers for dinner…read morerecently from this amazing local Calgary butcher shop. Also a bottle of jerk seasoning which at the time of this review remains unopened in my pantry. The burgers were juicy and delish. This is a modern version of an old skool butcher shop where you can get pretty much any cut of meat your heart desires. Definitely carnivore heaven. These local butcher shops used to be on every neighbourhood block one time ago. But with prepackaged mass factory meat they have become a thing of the past. Good eats!

Stopped in to pick up some burgers, spoke to one of the guys behind the counter, and he recommended…read morethe brisket patties due to a gluten allergy, they do use a breadcrumb binder in some of their other patties. These patties are smaller than the others they have for sale but were perfect for what I needed them for, which was a large family BBQ. 36 patties will run you about $45 from what I remember so they are on the pricier side for 4 oz patties but they were as close to my homemade hand pressed ones that I make. If you are looking for a great tasting lean burger without that gristly fatty mass produced grocery store frozen taste then come here. They also had fresh patties that appeared to have a higher fat content, also had some with bacon and seasoned; personally I like as little extras in my burgers, typically an 80/20 mix and salt and pepper right before grilling. The brisket burger will need to be lightly seasoned before grilling. Saw around 5 guys working behind the counter cutting and wrapping meat like total pros, and the place is impeccably clean, only downside is their website isn't great and there is no product or pricing on it and if you do go in some of the pricing is on the higher end, once the weather warms up I will pop in for a few steaks to try them out.
