I've been self-isolating for months now, and I'm on a special high-fat diet that is meat heavy, so I've been looking for a place that offers a wide variety of cuts for a great price. After discovering that CRM delivers on orders over $100, I thought I'd give them a try. I ordered Chuck/Blade steak, beef soup bones, and a pack of beef fat trimmings. Everything is so fresh and beautiful - I'm so happy! Their online ordering site is easy to use. Bought from Cut-Rite Meats 2 times and wasn't really impressed with the Premium Hickory bacon. Mostly fat with a bit of meat, burns to a crisp as there is so much fat, the smell is not very pleasing when it is being cooked and the taste isn't that tasty as it tastes like it is a "No Name" brand cheap bacon. Did I say it was Premium bacon, beg to differ on that. I love bacon but not this bacon they sell. I did buy over a $100 each time and did have some nice pork chops, lean ground beef, chicken breasts but this is where it ends as the sirloin steaks we bought taste more like minute steaks or cheap stake sandwich steaks you get at the bar. Lastly, the spicy pork sausage is not worth buying as it is tasteless and seems as though they have put too much filler in them. I have been going to Cute Rite Meats for years now and the service is just amazing. Friendly service and extremely knowledgeable about their products. During this COVID19 pandemic I was so impressed with the home delivery services that I took advantage of (min$100 and at you door in a day or two). The quality and price for the products is outstanding. My family does not eat a lot of red meat, but when we do its purchased from here. You will notice the taste and quality for sure. We also purchase all of our free range farm fresh eggs from Cute Rite Meats, the color and taste is so much better than any store bought eggs. The cost is amazing, 30 eggs for $10.95! Cut-Rite Meats is probably one of the least unassuming butcher shops in town in one of the most out of the way location as well in Forest Lawn. Going down 17 Ave SE, and a bit down the way from the Sobey's and Zeller's mall, you would find this simple white building with painted windows at a strange triangular corner. The quality of the meats are first-rate, with a wide selection in beef, pork, and poultry. There's even a selection of game meats in burgers and what-not, and Jimmy the Butcher offers wild game meat butcher services as well for all you Alberta hunters. I've enjoyed his offerings in the past, and the pricing is easily very competitive or better than supermarket prices, and at much better quality. And they'll break down the large cuts any way you like for free, which was especially useful for the short rib I went in to buy. If you need a full double brisket for smoking, this is your place too. Went in to get a T-bone for dinner. Left with 65 lbs of meat. About $300. Good selection, portioned the way I asked. As to what I've tried, the meat is excellent. Would recommend people give it a go. I like sausage and make a lot of it but when I'm out of my own I like to try others'. Tried their beef sausage a couple of times. The first time, I didn't get to cook it the night I bought it so stuck it in the fridge, next day it smelled spoiled. Second time, I noticed large chunks of easily identified hot dogs in the mix. I wonder if their ingredients list has all the ingredients from the hot dog package as well... probably not. If you shop around and buy on sale, you can easily find better prices at coop or save on foods, walmart etc. and not have to worry about the stuff self destructing in 12 hours. read more

DO NOT GO to cut rite meats to get your wild game processed!!!! Jim the owner charged me 1200 dollars to get my moose processed!!! I only wanted stew meat and hamburger and the backstraps and tenderloin. There was maybe 300 pounds of meat finished and 55 pounds of it was pork fat that he charged me $3/pound for over and above!! He's selling beef hamburger for $3/pound!!! Do the math!! Any way you look at it he is ripping good people off!! I supplied the meat and he cuts and wraps it for more than you could go in and buy beef for from his store!! DO NOT GO you will just end up being another victim!! read more
