When…read moreevery store in Salem that ought to carry safety rain jackets told me that they don't carry them (not sold out, mind you---they don't CARRY them), I was up that one creek without a paddle. I needed those jackets yesterday, and I was royally screwed! Not to worry though. Through word of mouth I was directed to this place, and the guy EZ (nickname). I met him at his little store on 12th and he drove me to his storage unit where I was introduced to the entire city of Salem's safety rain jacket supply. So this is where they all are! Prices are just about right for these 3M Safety Certified yadda yadda jackets. There's no way you'll find them cheaper online, especially if you include shipping. I found out that EX does much of his business through word of mouth--so here I am, spreading the word. Call this guy if you need safety gear!

When I started dumping the trailer, it flew off my ball hitch and smashed into my back bumper causing damage to my suv! I allowed them to hook up the trailer, "my fault that I didn't double check their work, I own this part..." Needless to say, the ball hitch collar lock was way too tight. So I had a hell of a time putting the trailer back on the hitch. Then it dawned on me, I drove to Salem and back without the trailer fully hooked into the ball. Wow, this could have been a lot worse then just the damage to my truck! The owner was very apologetic, but dam! I should have gotten half off, or no charge for this at least. Nope, full charge and damage to my rear bumper.

He said $20.00. I tried to use it but the generator I had wouldn't run the air compressor so I couldn't use the driver. I took it back and explained what happened to the girl at the counter. Her response was "well the minimum is $50.00" which is what they charge for a day. So, I was out $50.00 for absolutely nothing. I will NEVER go back.

Once the forklift arrived, it appeared NOTHING had been checked out - the extinguisher was expired and an error came on the screen when drive was engaged - and either of these make it undriveable in a warehouse environment. Their 'new paint job' was overspray on the obvious surfaces, and nothing everywhere else. There was very little acknowledgement that we were the customer in this transaction - poor all around. Getting anything fixed after delivery was also a crapshoot - it seemed the GM wasn't interested in happy customers, only collecting their payment. HARD PASS

If you climb rocks for fun - think Smith Rock - they have a larger selection of climbing ropes, ascenders, descenders, and harnesses than any local outdoor store. Petzl is their main brand. They also have arborist belts from Buckingham. If you need long rope, they can provide it up to 600 feet. They have a huge indoor warehouse by their showroom. They have a large lot filled with machinery. If you were a landscaping company or a tree service company they have machines for you to buy. They have grinders, skids, lift trucks and more. The staff is knowledgeable but they are used to dealing with professionals, not so much homeowners.
