We were heading to the Academy before an event and parked here and decided to wander around a bit. Even in the parking structure there were really cool cars. Of course they were peoples personal cars but you could tell they love them and were well taken care of (and cool art work on the body). The staff was nice and helpful and pointed us in the direction of things we may like to see since we had a short period of time to wander this trip. Beautiful location as well. Pop's and I had such an awesome time here at the Petersen Museum, we came here during covid times when they somehow loosened the restrictions, I have to say, the museum did what they possibly can to assure everyone's safety, the staff are extremely nice and helpful especially to an inquisitive museum buff like myself... most of all their car collection makes me wanna weep - they are absolutely wonderful, a classic car enthusiast paradise! Parking is plenty, just make sure to book your visit well ahead of time for an expedient entry! Overall, I really enjoyed my visit here and for sure will be back to visit the lower level exhibit. read more

The museum was fun and a great walk. Learned a lot new things about cars I didn't know. Though our group did pay for the VIP Tour, BUT I have to say it was pretty boring. Our tour guide was informative, but he was putting us to sleep. We would stay too long in some areas, which 2 of the people we were with have bad knees which hurts them when they stay too long in areas. We didn't finish the tour for that reason, we had the security guy walk us out. read more

Great store to browse around and prices for Petersen branded merchandise is relatively reasonably priced! They also have mm branded merchandise/toys but the prices for a lot of them are jacked up. I like that they have exhibit specific merchandise. read more

What I liked a lot about this souvenir store was the insane amount of toy cars they had. It was really cool, like another mini car museum. They also had lots of other random items (key chains, apparel, chocolate) and glossy coffee table books. I didn't buy anything but it would be a great place to buy a car toy for a young kid. read more

My sister and I visited for the Hollywood Dream Machines exhibit and we LOVED it! We also enjoyed all of the other exhibits. The races cars are beautiful pieces of machinery. Everything is dIsplayed beautifully and well labeled. I have recommended the Petersen to everyone at work. read more

This store is a joke, they get 1 Star because I had to choose something. Not only is everything overpriced employee Christina P sits there looking as if she is in pain or hates her job. Each one of my kids made a purchase with their birthday money, one of them forgot theirs so I went out to the car for it. As my husband waited for us he paid for parking until I reminded him it was supposed to be free since we spent over $75 in the store. Granted yes that was his mistake but we went back to the store for the last purchase I asked if they could take $ off our transaction or somehow get our $ back and Christina sends me to the front desk. I asked her how come she didn't say anything knowing I wS coming back and she has no words. Of course front desk says nothing other than there is no manager available? And tried to direct me to security.,. So let me get this straight ... all that $$ sitting in the museum and you're telling me you have no manager? Doesn't sound right to me, went back to the store by then another person was there to help he says I can take something off the transaction I said that's fine (thinking he was going to give us something to make up the $15) I let the transaction get done only to realize yes he gave the $ back but didn't give my husband the item free!? So in the end we were still out the parking $... so frustrating. First and last time to go there. Museum was nice but for that price I did expect a bit more. Let's just say the lack of customer service and how security follows those of us with kids around left me not ever wanting to come back. Once in a lifetime experience I guess (literally)! read more
