Service was far superior to any Phoenix metro area Peter Piper Pizza. Ambience was on par with what we are used to experiencing in a Peter Piper setting. What was super cool was their game room had better/different prizes than the AZ Peter Pipers. Also, many different games than what we typically see. They actually had several (4 or 5) claw machines. It was super nostalgic to visit this Peter Piper as some of their games still accepted tokens and gave out tickets. There was also an old school ticket eater. VERY COOL!! Will definitely return. Inflation is here to stay, and our accustom to certain dealios are out the door. This is the only Peter Piper location in the area, after living in Arizona, where they are just as common as say Chuck-E-Cheese is in California. The once cheap lunch buffet during the weekdays went from $8.49-$8.99, which included a drink, to a whopping $10.99 and an additional $3.49 for a drink. My advice is to skip the coke and drink some agua instead! The items available in the salad bar are minimal at best, and it seemed like the containers were duplicated items instead of different toppings. Don't let the lunch buffet price tag fool you. Just because the price increased, it doesn't mean that this place isn't popping with customers. We had arrived right at 11 am for buffet, and it must've been a good 20-25 minutes before we even got to the register to pay, with the line reach the door. The game coins are no longer $20 for $100, I believe it is somewhere along the lines of $15 for 50 coins (don't quote me). The sad, the ugly and the bad. WHERE HAVE ALL THE COUPONS GONE!! If you are frugal like me, you live for those steal deals - but it seems that those days are long gone. I was able to snag a $1.00 off the buffet, but not coupons for coins for the arcade. The tables haven't changed much, and this location is pretty well stocked with enough seating to have multiple parties. The arcade games have changed a bit, and the price per game has increased. The prizes are something found on wish or the dollar store and definitely not worth the $50 it cost for those 1,000 tickets items. I normally come here for a mother/son lunch date and spend quality time winning tickets so he can get some items at the prize counter. Staff is always friendly. They do custom pizzas if you ask during buffet, which is a huge plus.... as they seem to not always have cheese pizza readily available, and they call out the pizza when ita ready. The downfall is that the prize counter consistently goes unmanned, which leads to unorganized lines and rude patrons who feel their child has priority. They do try and use multiple calculators, but it doesn't help much. Will probably still come here during buffets. I sure hope they start offering coupons again! read more

I felt $10.99 for a lunch buffett was reasonable when bidenomics were applied but then they hit me with an additional fee on $3.19 for a fountain drink this I felt was WAY too much. The food what little they had out was ok at best that is if you don't like hot pizza. They had peperoni, pineapple ham, jalapeño sausage and peperpni and some sort of dessert pizza, a TINY salad assortment and 2 types of pizza. No wings were avaliable for buffet and they ran out of pasta options before I got any. The service was non existing unless you count taking my money was service. I would have been better off in terms of getting full had I gone to China Buffett next door for about the same price. The dining room was fairly clean. The restroom needed a cleaning. I can't reccomend this eatery. I don't anticipate becoming a regular and I do believe I'll delete the app from my phone as this location doesn't give loyalty points.. Over all a big waste of my time. The only purpose it fulfilled was giving me an opportunity to write a review. But I'd rather write a 4 star review. I am so fortunate that Peter Piper exists here. This location serves the freshest and best tasting pizza that I've ever had and it reminds me of all my years growing up in Phoenix. The location is never crowded, the food is usually within 15 minutes, the service is excellent, and it's probably one of the better deals you can get on pizza in San Diego. if you have kids, it's a great place to take them to let them play games. Decided to take my 2yo here on a whim. I had never been, but always seen it off the highway and wanted to try it out. It was around noon on a Wednesday, so I figured it wouldn't be busy. There were only three small families when we walked in. I paid for the buffet for myself and 100 tokens for $25. I guess my child ate free because I only paid about $38, the tokens and the $10 buffet fee for myself. My little one had the spaghetti and I ate a salad and a slice of pizza. Not the best I've eaten, but okay pizza. The salad was generic and no cheese out, but I got olives and some dressing. The whole facility was nice and clean, from the bathrooms to the arcade. Some of the games weren't working, but I didn't mind since they didn't interest my child anyway. Many of the games were 1-2 tokens, my toddler really enjoyed riding the Clifford and Ice Cream Truck machines and playing the Gum Drop and coin pusher games. We didn't seem to get as many tickets as I'd have thought, around 3-4 unless you hit a jackpot. We did end up with 1046 tickets though because I played some games when my little one was busy on the rides, haha. The prize selections were great and we came away with a big art set and some smaller lollipops and bracelets. We spent about 2 hours here. A very spacious place.  I thought it was closed due to how empty it was. This was just before pre current situation. You order pizza or go through the buffet for lunch.  I choose the buffet for the greater variety. The buffet overall was ok.  The pizza was  not bad for a buffet. I ended up eating more pizza than I expected to.  The selection was good with about 5 types of pizza and 2 dessert pizzas available.  Bread sticks, salad bar, and a spaghetti and cheesey pasta were other options.  Overall, not bad for a buffet catering more toward feeding a family on a budget or children's function.  Place is very spacipus with a pretty good size arcade in the back. read more

I came here for the first time with my children recently. I was really pleasantly surprised. Parking is ample. We came on a Friday around 430 and the place was empty. We ordered a pizza, Garlic cheese bread and wings. I got each kid 50 tokens. The food was hot and actually really tasty and came out really quick. We celebrated my daughter's 7th birthday, December 29, here this afternoon. I was definitely pleased with the pricing of our party. We had only close family, my daughter's cousins and close cousins of mine along with a couple of my daughter's friends from school attend. The lady helping us was nice and catered to what we needed. I want to shout out to my good friend, Nancy, who paid for an extra pizza. Our package had 5 large pizzas and with one extra large pizza my friend ordered. It was enough for 20 guests! Spent my daughter's 2nd birthday here, and I've never been met with such unprofessionalism coming from the "manager" in my life. Let me just start off by saying that making the reservation online was easy. I purchased a party package for 16 people. I called a total of three times to verify my reservation, and asked for clarification with any questions I had (cancellation, last minute add-ons, etc.). I was told twice that I could do a last minute add on of a package the day of the party, Party day comes, and I added another package as soon as I arrived (because I was told twice that I could do that), and so I picked a package that would accommodate another 16 people. WE GOT THE FOOD, BUT NOT THE ADDITIONAL SEATING. My guests spent most of their time standing. We brought this up to the sorry excuse of a manager, Humberto. He told my husband and I, "I DON'T RESERVE AND INCLUDE SEATING IN THE PACKAGE." VERBATIM. It literally makes no sense to have a package for 16 people, and not have the seating for it. HE THEN WENT ON TO SAY "I COULD'VE GIVEN YOU GUYS ANOTHER TABLE, BUT IT WOULD'VE BROKEN YOUR PARTY APART." Point is, he NEVER even offered another table during the time we needed it. Additionally, he said "YOU COULD'VE PUT YOUR GIFTS ON THE FLOOR OR UNDER THE TABLE TO ALLOW YOUR GUESTS TO SIT." Our gifts took up a quarter of the table, and even then, we weren't offered another table to accommodate the additional guests that would not have fit even if we had put our gifts elsewhere. I've never been greeted with such bitterness, and unprofessionalism from a manager. I even reported that our hostess was not very attendant as evidence by, me having to come and find her multiple times to order our food, and to get our cake (I had asked her twice to bring out our cake at a certain time, which was 15 minutes late), and the manager literally rolled his eyes. My husband and I are both professionals, and we make good money. Money isn't the issue, BUT to not have been compensated for the terrible service is an ABSOLUTE DISGRACE AND TERRIBLE MOVE on that manager. He even tried to blame his staff for apparently, relaying the WRONG information TWICE, which he takes no blame for. No accountability for not offering the extra table, which he claims at the end that he could have done. ABSOLUTELY SICKENED BY THAT GUY'S ATTITUDE AND UNPROFESSIONALISM. read more

Also their Jackpots are very high and their prize pod has lots of unique prizes compared to the locations in Arizona. I recommend going to this Peter Piper Pizza. I'm very disappointed with this place. I've been a loyal customer for years to both locations before they closed the one in Racho San Diego (the closer one to my house). I come all the way from el Cajon just to get a taste for this pizza because it has an edge over others. It has a distinct taste from other places even though it is just pizza.. I ask them to be generous with the toppings because I add on toppings that I pay for extra and the amount of toppings they put on the pizza is minimal. It seems I get veggies fro shredded from a cheese shredder and it It leaves me feeling ripped off specially having traveled all the way from El Cajon just to be a customer there. Nice alternative to Chuck E Cheese. Food is way more reasonable especially the lunch buffet M-F, $5.99 but you can get a coupon on their website for $4.99. The food is actually decent too. My son loved the play place and the games. Some of their games do need some maintenence. The tokens wouldn't always go in the slots or you had to shove them hard to get the game to recognize it. Also the coin slots on at least two machines were moving around when you tried to put a token in. We will be going back as you can't beat the price. read more
