Dr. Najim, Brooke, and Teresa are all professionally caring. Brooke was gentle when administering a full set of X-rays. Dr. Najim explained in layman's terms the results of the X-rays and what procedures were needed. Teresa cleaned my teeth, using organic products, and explained every step of her work. The follow-up was provided before I left the office and a call in regard to an oral surgeon referral by the end of the day. I had been to Dr. Najim's office a few times for procedures which I was quite satisfied. My last visit was for repair work to my front teeth resulting from a fall off a ladder while working. The two lower from teeth had minimal damage, no numbing necessary. A top front tooth had a horizontal break less than an 1/8th inch of loss. This repair was carried out without any numbing as well. The bill was $1550. I had a feeling this was excessive and it was. I recently visited a dentist in La Grande, Oregon for minor chip repair on the other upper front tooth, a previous old repair failed (done in the Bay Area). In addition, I had some decay on the side of a rear upper molar for which the filling on top was in the way. Dr. Harris removed the composite filling and removed the decayed area and rebuilt the filling. Both procedures were quick, painless and $493.00. I have had a long history with dentists and a degree in Economics, my impression is that Dr. Najim took full advantage of the situation when I was in need by charging triple what another dentist would have charged. read more

I live in North Lake Tahoe part-time. Recently, during a stay in Lake Tahoe, I had a gold crown come off completely. I saved the crown and made an appointment with Dr. Najim. He took two ex-rays of the area. He gave me a pain killing injection. Began working on the affected area. I have had quite a bit of dental work over or my lifetime. The work by Dr.Najim was the most PAINFUL/UNCOMFORTABLE in my 70+ years! I assumed he would do a mold of the area and order a replacement gold crown. (Because we are in Tahoe part-time, I expected I would return later for the replacement. Big mistake!) He never once discussed what treatment he would perform, nor, offer me any alternatives. While working on me he used a mold to somehow create an in-house replacement. It was not gold. Porcelain? Even his assistant was surprised. Cost was $ 2,000. My husband just had the very same treatment in our town of Monterey with two gold molar replacements at the cost of $4,000. (His dentist-discussed with him the type of material for his crowns. Telling him Gold is preferable because not as much tooth needs removal.) I am still sensitive to cold fluids and food, not to mention all the tooth he ground off. And, no, he won't get off by saying it was an emergency replacement and no other time to return. NEVER ASKED ME. He was glad to pocket my money that day! read more

We came up to Tahoe for our daughter's wedding and my husband had a cap come off a tooth. That is a potential wedding photo disaster! So he called Dr Semmens and was able to get in to see him quickly. Dr. Semmens had great pride in his work and had my husband smiling with all of his teeth in a short time. Last week I had a temporary crown fall out 200 miles away from my normal dentist. I called, they got me in immediately, cancelling their lunch to see me right away. Since I lost the temporary the dentist made me one on the spot, with a smile, paying great attention to make sure it fitted correctly. These guys were fantastic, Judy also went above and beyond to help with my insurance. Overall a great experience. I am a Dr. Najim convert! My last trip to a dentist was in Reno seven years ago, and was quite unpleasant. Aside from not being gentle, I was basically scolded by the dentist and made to feel embarrassed the whole time I was in the chair. A lot of time had passed, and I knew that eventually I should go to the dentist again, but kept putting it off based on my previous experience. I went to Dr. Najim after hearing some great recommendations, and was immediately taken into great care. From the moment I walked through the door, I felt extremely welcome and immediately tended to until my appointment was over. Not to mention, his office feels like a little utopian spa with a great view of Lake Tahoe from the chair. I needed a pretty significant deep cleaning that required several appointments, but Linda, my incredible hygienist, was kind, gentle, and truly caring. Throughout the procedures, she was fully attentive to how I was feeling, while having extreme attention to detail and genuinely wanting me to leave the office feeling happy, healthy, and motivated to take better care of my teeth. She gave me some great tips, and was sure to answer any questions that I had along the way. With very reasonable pricing compared to Reno, I'm so happy that I came here instead. Dr. Semmens is by far the best dentist my husband and I have ever been too!!! I met Dr. Semmons about 6 years ago. We moved to Incline Village from the Bay Area and I had not yet established a dentist. It was Easter Sunday weekend and I woke up with the worst toothache ever. I suffered through the weekend and started calling dentists on Monday morning. I must have called 6 dentists in the Tahoe area. They were all very "sympathetic" and offered me an appointment 3-4 days later. They all told me after the Easter weekend they were totally booked. I literally picked Dr.Semmens name out of the phone book. Judy Semmens (Jack Semmens wife) who runs the front office answered the phone. When I told her how I was suffering she did not hesitate and asked me how soon I could get to the office. Dr. Semmens worked me into his busy morning schedule. I had an abscessed tooth under a crown. When he numbed the tooth I thought I had died and gone to heaven!!! I must have been in the dental chair for 4 hours that morning. He even replaced the crown that day with a beautiful porcelain crown...no temporary crown. My husband and I were so impressed with all the state of the art equipment Dr. Semmens has in his office. I agree with a previous review...Dr. Semmens is a true artist...not to mention a really nice guy!!! His whole staff is the best too. When you just need a routine cleaning his hygienists are also very thorough and offer great advice on keeping your pearly whites looking good!!! We have moved back to the Bay Area, but we will continue to drive back up to Tahoe City to keep Dr. Semmens as our dentist. read more

Dr. Semmens is very knowledgeable-offering specialized services. He did a full crown for me in about the time it would take to put on a temporary. I would then have had to go back in a few days for the actual crown. As I live a distance away, this saved me a lot of time and discomfort.
