Please don't even chance this place, especially if you own a cat. Dr. V is old, rude, and totally…read morescary. My cat was in ger carrier. He stated that my husband can't take her out according to his insurance. Fine. The assistant was very young, and not trained to do this. She has no gloves on. After a 2 hrs wait, my cat was very good, as always, tge girl took a huge towel, and pushed it into the top of the carrier, and half tried to grab her, and my cat jumped back. Immediately the dr, told her to go sedate her. Never discussed with us anything about sedation. We brought her because she had been scratching at her ear and started to cry. My husband cleaned it, put drops and after a week, she seemed fine, but it came back. It was lightly red, no foul odor ir discharge, but we needed to check. The dr only asked ger age. Then went into a rant that she's 11, so she's 60, and dies she drink water, was yelling at me, does she lose weight, cats her age get failed kidneys, cancef, aids, went on and on. I listened, then I said I don't want her sedated, I waited 2 hours, your office has no sign, wd called, we weren't told. He yelled then go down the street to anitger place. Next! Very rude, unprofessional, had sign hanging, he's looking for an assistant, can't imagine why. He used to have roaches. His rooms are very disorganized, his bathroom has no sink. We wasted so much time. Extremely incompetent, I have only had gentle loving Veternarians before.

One thing that would definitely…read morebring me back is she did not give me only the most expensive options, did not run unnecessary blood work ups or stool samples until we found out if the my dog Bully had a mass in his stomachs and if so if it was operable. We chose to have a half sonogram which showed a mass and followed up with a full sonogram which showed several masses connected to his liver. Not operable By running blood tests and stool samples would have added hundreds to a bill and would be totally unnecessary. These are the things that show me they care and are not taking advantage of you. We decided not to wait even though Bully wasn't in real pain but uncomfortable as there was no telling when he would be but it would be very soon. After a day of visiting his favorite neighbors, treats and love we brought him in. This was the saddest but easiest euthanasia I have had to do in my life. My baby wasn't screaming in pain, seizing or uncomfortable. He liked Dr. Macri and since he was just there was not suspicious, nervous. He went to sleep and left us calmly, easily. Thank you Dr. Macri for loving on my baby, you easiness with him and your compassion . Love Dawn and Irv

Three days and $4,574.50 later (CHA-CHING! ) .. we decided to have her put down because we couldn't stand to see her suffer anymore. (By this time she was hardly breathing.) While under their care she got worse and worse and they kept charging us more and more. We had to put an end to it. ..Sadly we had to let our little fur baby go. We won't ever go back there again . If our other cat should need critical help..we will go directly to the Red Bank Veterinary Hospital .

I brought my cat here who was 3 years old. He was diagnosed with heart disease. The reason why I…read morebrought him in is because he went into heart failure and as a treatment they gave him lasix and oxygen to keep him comfortable. I was told that I needed to see a cardiologist. The cardiologist was only available on Thursday's. They tell me it's okay to bring max home until then and that I NEEDED to see the specialist. Saw the $1,000 specialist who told me my cat had 6-9 months to live and off the bat said well "it's severe" in the most obvious tone. We had no idea. He was also very insensitive and clearly rising to see the next patient. The next day, my cat goes into heart failure again. I rushed him to the hospital and he unfortunately declined so quickly that he passed once I brought him in. I know sometimes there's no way of knowing. However, I don't know how he DIDNT see the severity and tell me that it may be sooner than later. Nonetheless, as my maxie passed there and I was asked if I wanted to say goodbye- they brought him in with his eyes and mouth wide open and no blanket over him. It was the most traumatic experience I and my fiancé ever had with an animal and now all I see is that picture in my head. I will never go back to this hospital and never recommend them for this reason. There was no logical reason for them to present him like this and I am still furious. While battling grief as traumatic as it already was, I just have flashbacks of this moment because of them. I wish I brought him elsewhere where he would've been respected. It felt entirely disrespectful for the ending of a beautiful life.

Absolutely atrocious. I get with vet reviews when you lose a pet you love it gets convulted but my…read morereview and experience is solely based on unethical malpractice. Once what was a good small clinic is now just a clinic. You will see numerous different doctors. There will be numerous miscommunications. In my experience they CYA and state they said one thing but never did. You consent to things which they dont perform and they chalk it up on, hey we wrote it so. Theres never an apology, the only solution is to spend more money. Furthermore the front staff yes you to death and never follow up on anything, insurance claims, whatever. People wait in the waiting rooms for an hour plus with appointments. Then if you have any complaint on an administrative level, good luck because its whatever they have in writing. No sympathetic apologies, reflection, or anything. Its MALPRACTICE & they are ALARMISTS. This once was a great vet. Not anymore. I urge you to PLEASE go somewhere else
