I spent time with the owner and we agreed I would follow up via phone or email with the base and accessories I wanted. Unfortunately, after calling three times (each time he was unavailable) and emailing with no response, I decided to return in person the following week. The owner wasn't there, and the employee present seemed more interested in closing up for the day than helping me complete the order. He gave multiple excuses for why he couldn't help. In the end, I traveled a bit farther to the next nearest Platinum Big Green Egg dealer and was able to place my full order in under 10 minutes.

It does not matter how many times I call, I have not once received a return phone call since providing my payment. The phone mostly rings to no answer. The couple times I have reached someone I was told the manufacturer is having substantial delays and they cannot get any update from them - I received feedback from the manufacturer within 24 hours saying my experience with this dealer is not normal and I also cross checked with two competitors (oh how I wish I had done that back in November) and have gotten 2 week lead times quoted for the same stove from both of these other businesses. Upon learning this information I requested a refund but you can imagine how that is going. I even picketed the store front for an hour and forty five minutes today and still cannot get a return phone call or any movement on my refund - THEY JUST DO NOT CARE!!!

Taxes were charged, so I didn't understand the check vs cash problem. The item is beautiful and looks great. Just difficult in dealing with people who should be more professional in a service industry. We were charged an additional 150$ on the install for not having the right tip and having to go to the store to get it...We feel it's something that they should have put on themselves. Instead, we were told that our house could have blown up had he not checked, huh???!! Wouldn't a professional installer check their work properly to make sure that doesn't happen??? I have used Plumbarama in the past for my plumbing but had no idea until i passed by their showroom that they sell and install fireplaces, too. I have had a fireplace since i moved into my home about 17 years ago that i never used because it was just wood burning. I had some decorative candles in there, which i never lit either. I really wished i had a way of enjoying my fireplace and actually get heat from it as well. I stopped in the showroom and to my surprise, i was greeted and able to discuss my options with a knowledgeable woman who explained that there are easy ways to make this happen. I picked out a gas log set that i liked and the plumber came out and ran my gas line right into the fireplace. Now I have a beautiful gas log set that i really enjoy and is super easy with a remote. Love it.
