Discovered a leak where solder was used at an elbow on the cold water line to the boiler at 1830…read more The company was able to send someone out that evening, which was a blessing since other companies would only make appointments for the following day. The plumber who showed up was courteous and knowledgeable. The plumber even hung around after 10 pm just to make sure there were no issues with the repair. The reason for 4 star instead of 5 is that the leak was due to failed solder at an elbow. For some reason, their trucks are not stocked with solder rods and by the time he assessed the situation, it was too late to go to a hardware store. He ended up replacing the copper elbow, which cost a lot more money, incurred more logistics with shutting off water to the boiler, draining the line, re-pressurizing the system, and had him stay at the house for over 2 hrs when it could have been completed in 15 minutes by sweating new solder onto the pipe elbow.

The copper connections were pressed on. Total parts maybe 20 bucks. I asked him to give me a price while he was here on flushing my electric water heater. Another 600 Dollars!! I said forget it. If my valve hadn't been leaking I would have told him NO to everything. We're seniors in our mid 70s and we were taken for a ride. Never use Roto-Rooter services.

I wrote the company to let them know and here is my email: "I wanted to let you know they have been getting in fights over the past two or three hours with people in the neighborhood. They are causing a huge disruption, threatening folks and yelling obscenities. It is really ridiculous, especially given that we're right next to an elementary school and two parks. There are a lot of young children in the area who don't need to hear men screaming the words p*ssy, f*ggot, and f*ck in the middle of the day." They were not apologetic which makes me think this is normal practice: "Thank you , we will take care of it. We do have a street closure permit for street today from city to do a water line. Sometimes neighbors do not cooperate very well even though signs were posted." My reply: "I hear you, but I watched 3 different altercations and it was clear your employees were escalating. They made me and I'm sure other residents feel very unsafe. There is no excuse for such unprofessional behavior and for screaming at people/yelling obscenities for 5 minutes straight." And theirs: "Thank you again, people ride around our cones as we work in a hole in the street and make our job unsafe. We just trying to do what we need to do to restore water to a family. I apologize for any inconvenience and in proper language. "

The toilet was builder's grade Sterling brand, and the only remaining original toilet to the house. D'Arpino Plumbing rebuilt the tank parts and the valve to the bowl for the quoted amount, which was much, much less than getting a new toilet. Also, the plumber cleaned up after himself and explained what was going on. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND D'Arpino Plumbing!

The project was adding a sink in the utility room and required adding hot and cold-water piping and a drain. There was a plumbing for the existing washing machine. Braden was thorough in his estimates and gave me two options. He explained them to me so I could make a decision. I was able to schedule for the best day and time for me. Jeremy and Dan (not sure of the name) were professional, thorough, and communicative. The resulting plumbing for a utility sink and an update of the valves for the washing machine was exactly what I wanted. Actually, it was better than that because they updated the valves to prevent water hammer. Their cleanup was thorough and we were able to replace the wall board and attach the sink ourselves, saving an additional trip from Carney Every time I called Carney for any reason (scheduling, change in option choice, payment) a live person answered the phone and directed my call to someone who had the answer. That meant a lot to me.
