Not only they installed the water heater, they also accompanied me to haul the water heater from Home Depot and installed it the same day. He also did stuff that the previous installer did not do like sealing some tubes, etc. They gave me the best price among all those who replied. The next time I hired them was because of the clogged kitchen sink. Unlike others, they did not stop until they resolved the issue to the point that they had to cancel their other appointments on that day. They had to dig and replace a very old sewer tube. They did this step by step. The best thing is that with all the efforts and time they did, they reasonably charged for their work. In all their dealings with me, they have always been professional and on time. These are really nice, honest, and helpful people. Just today, I recommended them to a friend.

I had a frustrating and disappointing experience with Plumbing Pals that I want to share so others…read moredon't go through the same. I called them about a kitchen sink issue where water was draining slowly, and pipe is leaked or cracked under the sink. I clearly mentioned both issues during the call. They told me there would be a $78 diagnostic/service fee, which would be credited toward the final repair cost if I chose to go ahead with the work. That seemed fair, so I agreed. The technician who came out did not do any repair work. He looked at the issue and told me he only handles drain cleaning, not pipe replacement and that a different plumber would need to come for that. He also said if he attempted to unclog the drain, it would worsen the leak and the sink still couldn't be used. After he left, my card was charged $78. Shortly after, I received a quote of $475 to unclog and replace the P-trap (drain pipe). Even though it seemed high, I approved it. I also downloaded a $50 coupon from their website, as they suggested. Once the work was completed by a plumber the next day, I asked to confirm that the $78 would be credited toward the $475, along with the coupon. He said only the coupon would apply, and the $78 would not be refunded or included, even though that fee was supposed to cover diagnostics, and this job was a direct result of it. I called Plumbing Pals for clarification, and they sent me a recording of my initial call as "proof" that I only requested drain cleaning. Ironically, that very recording clearly shows I said there was a leak or crack in the pipe that might need replacement, which confirms I was upfront from the beginning. It's obvious they either didn't listen or chose to ignore what I said. When I tried to escalate the matter, I was connected with a supervisor named April, who was extremely rude and dismissive. She insisted that the $78 would not be refunded or credited and told me if I wasn't happy, I "didn't need to do business with them again." As a customer, I'm not a plumber, I rely on professionals to diagnose the issue (which is why they charge the service fee in the first place), communicate honestly, and apply the service fee toward the repair as advertised. This company failed on all fronts. In short, this was a misleading, overpriced, and unprofessional experience. I regret using Plumbing Pals and strongly suggest others look elsewhere for honest and respectful plumbing service.

I posted my need on Yelp. I got several responses from companies that are basically a central phone number that assigns your job to someone in the area, someone who pays them for leads. I did not want that. I wanted to speak to the person who would be coming to my house, before paying a trip charge and finding out the person wasn't a good fit. I found Michael D'Arpino, who had previously been a union plumber, and had several years in business for himself. He accepted the job and showed up at the agreed time, ready to assess the problem. He had all the right equipment and quickly figured out that a bird had gotten into the drain and died in there, creating a dam. The water backed up, froze, and burst the drain pipe. He gave me a quote to fix it, which was quite reasonable. After watching him at work, I was confident in his ability to do the job correctly. I gave him a deposit and we set a date to do the repair. A few days in advance he confirmed the start date with me and showed up as promised on the day he said he would do the work. He and his apprentice got the work done quickly and neatly. We are very happy with the way things turned out. The pricing was fair. He showed up on time and did what was needed. I was out of town when he did the work, so he sent me photos and video to be sure I was happy with the work. We will definitely call him if we have a plumbing or drainage problem in the future. I can wholeheartedly recommend D'Arpino Plumbing for just about any plumbing or drain need you have. Michael is honest, trustworthy, and he and his people are a pleasure to do business with.
