I have an appointment for my two dogs; however, upon arriving at the store, I was informed that I need to provide medical clearance for one of them due to a leg limping over a month ago. Although I had visited the vet just the day before, I did not have a physical copy of the documentation. When I called the vet on speakerphone and requested that they email the clearance directly to the grooming salon for them to print, the groomer refused, stating it was not her job. She then directed me to go to an Office Depot in the same plaza to print the document myself. When I asked if I could leave the dogs there for a few minutes while I retrieved the paperwork, the associate refused, stating that they do not have a dog attendant. I then offered to leave to obtain the necessary documents, but she suddenly informed me that even with medical clearance, she would refuse to provide grooming services. Her reasoning was that since there is no veterinarian in the same building, she does not want to take any responsibility should something happen to my dogs. What the hell!!! Why wasn't I informed of this requirement when I booked the appointment? This lack of communication resulted in a significant waste of time and an unnecessary trip to your location. I was very disappointed by this experience. It felt as though the staff member didn't want to deal with my large dogs, or perhaps it was racially motivated because I am Asian. I am so discouraged that I am seriously considering canceling my Petco membership. read more

I had bought in 2014 a dog and began coming to this petco in 2015 I continued for many years referring family and friends. I got a new Pup in 2020 she was 8 weeks old Jayke was my favorite grromer he left and I tried to continue until the didnt properly clean my senior dog who was adult at the time, it continued so i found a new groomer. Sadly she moved out of state. So I thought I would try again and the worst experience I didnt even allow your tech to do anything to any of my 4 dogs... i mentioned that my mother and I thought our senior male had stroke or seized so we took him to emergency vet. where they examined him said neither had happened and to just keep watch over him. well when this happens he leans so I being a worrier to the techs if he leans call me I will come get him because I worry. Sam would not let my dog washed, rudely by the way...I will not recommend this petco to any of my neighbors I did get my dogs groomed the same day and it may have been more but it was done right and with out issues... losing business isnt how you make money. Also I will be contacting my lawyer I was so upset I had to see my doctor those are my emtional support pets. I hope you find better staff she isnt good with people... update I called the er vet we went to and they couldnt understand why he was denied when we explained she sent us an email with findings and results of visit NON WERE SEIZURES OR STROKE JUST SOMETHING THAT HAPPENS TO SMALL SENIOR DOG. read more

I came here a few weeks ago to get my cat vaccinated and I will say I had an amazing experience my first appointment. The staff during that shift was very gentle and attentive to my cat. However, when I went to my second appointment on Saturday 12/20/25 at 2:00 pm. I had the utter worse experience to whoever was in that shift attending the vaccinations. (Not the same people from the first appointment) When I stepped in the store the lady on that shift was eating subway then wiped her face with her hands and didn't wash her hands before attending my cat. That was the first red flag to this horrible experience. When they began the check up, they noticed my cat had lost half a pound. The lady kept saying "that's so concerning" and gave me nasty stares repeating the same thing over and over. I couldn't get this feeling like she was implying that I don't take care of my cat. Then, she says my cat is "big". My cat is 8 pounds and lost half a pound. Mind you when I first took my cat for the vaccinations, I had told the people who were attending my cat that she recently stopped nursing her kittens. She no longer had kittens but was still producing milk. Obviously now she no longer produces milk and hasn't since we first took her to get her vaccines, which was four weeks ago. Then, this lady started to feel my cat's belly saying that she's pregnant and almost due. But the things is my cat has only been outside once (by our garden) and that was 2 weeks ago and is currently in heat. Besides that one time she's been indoors strictly because we wanted her to be vaccinated and then spayed, so we've been very cautious keeping her inside to prevent her from getting pregnant. But then this woman kept saying "congrats mama you're gonna have kittens." She refused to give my cat her booster shots because she didn't want to risk any defects on the kittens that don't exist. Mind you she only was feeling my cat's belly, no ultrasound or anything like that. So when that was done, her assistant was carrying my cat and didn't give her to me when they had already told me they weren't going to give her any shots. I was only given my cat back when the lady basically stopped giving me crap about what I should be doing. This is also where both her and the assistant literally looked at me up and down and it felt like they were judging me physically. I was wearing a pink muscle shirt, jeans, and a baggy sweater but I can't escape the feeling that they judging me for what I was wearing and because of how young I am. I feel like I was taken as naive for that. Then, she had asked me if my cat goes outside and I said yes. In the first appointment, I had let staff know that she's indoor and outdoor, she recently stopped nursing and all the information they needed for my cat. This is where she proceeds to tell me that that staff from the that first appointment should have asked me this question "does she go outside?" She then says "why didn't the staff ask me?" assuming that staff from the first appointment didn't properly question me. She kept assuming the worse and didn't once let me clarify, she just kept talking over me. I did let staff know in the first appointment. Again I let staff know from the first appointment that my cat is indoor and outdoor. But since that appointment she's been indoor besides that one time. When she does goes outside it's on a LEASH with me supervised. Again I would have clarified had she given me the space to do so but no she kept taking over me. Now because she refused service, I have to wait another month for her shots because of the subscription I purchased has a time frame of 4 months. For example, she got her shots then the second month she was suppose to get her second round of shots but since she refused, I have to wait another month (3rd month) for that shot. She said if I don't get the shot she needs within that time frame, I basically have to start all over and pay again. My first appointment I had already paid around $220. Needless to say, this experience has made me want to never come to this place ever again. She was very rude and disrespectful. I felt like she implied that I don't take care of cat and basically put me on the spot, bickering with the staff of what I should be doing. My cat was a street cat we found in the streets and we've been trying everything to make sure she's healthy, she has pet insurance, she is loved but this lady made feel otherwise. The lady in question had blue eyes, blonde hair, and was white. So any pet owners out there be careful, I hope you don't come here because this service was not okay. read more

Unfortunately, a bad experience at my local Petco. We recently adopted a Staffy, his previous family had him on Purina One Chicken and Rice Formula. As we are weening him off to more healthy food I needed one more small bag. I grabbed the last one on the rack, something on the outside of the bag made me hesitate since it was the last one of this size. But decided to get it anyway. Finally got home and as I was cutting the bag open the texture of the inside was FUZZY... I look inside the bag and it was completely rotten with worms! Definitely made my skin crawl... I tried calling the store but to no avail. So I decided to bring the bag back to the store to ask for an exchange. I really had no choice but to give him the same brand but a bigger bag... The rep that helped me said, "all we can do is exchange and you pay the difference of the bigger bag". Nothing on the rep but I think Petco should take care of their loyal customers better for such a mortifying experience on quality control. Thank God we are switching our dog to homemade foods. Poor staff doesn't have much defense against shoplifting I was sitting in the car out front and watched a guy looking sus grab a cat stroller thing and armful of items and jet of the store while the young worker just looked flustered like he saw it and couldn't do anything, but the setup makes it easy for people to leave quickly. There also seemed to be several people on the back side of the store that may be living there which does make the area feel a little unsafe. Saw a stray kitty in the parking lot. I wanted to take a moment to provide feedback on a groomer we worked with during my dog's grooming session at the Petco store in Westminster. Her name is Giselle, and she was incredibly patient and caring towards my dog. She successfully completed the bath and grooming as planned, even though many other Petco locations were hesitant to work with my dog after she snapped at them once or twice. Those locations gave up before even trying. That being said, I had a great experience at this location. Despite it being a 1-hour drive for me, I've decided not to take my dog anywhere else and will wait for Giselle's schedule to be available. read more

I have been a regular PetCo customer for several years. I am NO LONGER shopping or doing business with any PetCo stores. The company app, as well as their PetCo Rewards program, is a sham. I continued to get emails and rewards. I used most of them. Their system is the worst run app ever. Many issues utilizing the app and rewards! The corporate office CUT ME OFF because I used their rewards! Duh, don't send them if you prefer we don't use them!! To have them taken away because I used them according to their reward system is LUDICROUS! I highly recommend Pet Food Express or Centinela Pet Shop. They have great specials and much more pleasant staff as well as ease in utilizing their specials! But bye PetCo !!! read more

One of the worst possible experiences we've ever encountered with both of our dogs. When they called to pick them up the lady was frantic and was panicking and that my dogs were in so much distress. We need to hurry to pick them up. When we got there they were totally calm and behaved and not crying. Im very suspicious of what was actually going on. She stated that she washed scout our white dog but he looks exactly the same she says his nose has discoloration, but he's literally brown on his nose with dirt on his eyes and ears and paws like hello you cleaned him and performed services on him ???? I don't think so! And then rocky our brown dog has longer husky hair is NAPPY and smells terrible like dirt and disgusting like he smells worse then we took them, mind you they had just been laying in dirt so they were pretty dirty but didn't smell much. One lady stated they performed no services which we paid for extra add-ons and the services included in the package they. Then stated that my dogs nails we're too short and if they cut them, they would bleed, but we've taken him many places before and gotten them cut no problem or filed his nails. Also never cut Rocky's nails either. Never taking him any grooming ever again at this point I don't trust them and won't put them through whatever the hell they actually did to them. I will Be calling corporate because this lady says yeah he's all good then at the end states yeah we did no services to them. We tried to wash them best we could we couldn't really do anything. Don't even think they cleaned scout and they have them both with only one worker. I don't believe she washed, blow dry. nail trim, earcleaning, and teeth brushing for both dogs in one hour and a 20mins that is totally unbelievable. She stated in person she washed and performed services on both of them. And she made my partner pay before she was able to even see the dogs. Which is maybe a little our fault on our end but damn they really screwed us over. Do not take your pets here. It was a lady with blonde hair named Arianna We also got there immediately after she called so from 11 AM until 1220 she had them from 12:20 to 1:15. We were arguing begging for a refund which they refused and gave us a partial refund for only one dog. at this point, we could have just washed both of them ourselves and saved us some money $128 plus tip to be exact. read more

From the reviews, I've seen, most people seem to have issues with poor customer service. In my experience, I felt like they could use more employees. They are so understaffed. The workers seem stressed or overworked. I can only imagine how many hours they have to pick up when there's only a staff of 7 people. I've always gone to this Petco grooming location for my dog. She's going on 13 years, and has never had any major problems with any of the groomers. We've been with Christian the most, and recently Alyson has been taking care of my baby Jasmine (purely by chance, since I don't pick and choose groomers when I make an appointment.) Everyone has always been kind and punctual with my dog, and she's never had a problem after I pick her up. I'm going to continue going with Petco grooming services for sure! I told him yes, Corgie / Shepherd. He asked what was wrong with him.....at that point I knew Elvis was not getting a bath or nail trim..... I told him that my dog was 16 & very nervous. I told him he needed a corgi cut & I had to explain what that was since this guy had no idea. Then the other guy told me he couldn't take Elvis because I had given him something for his nerves. Very very sad to write this write this review. It's important Because management needs to see this. I've been coming here for years at this location. I've spent tens of thousands of dollars in the last couple of years at this location because it's close to the dog park I go to. I have done so much training here and my dog improved so much; that's why I have such a heavy heart to write this review. Today, I came in to grab some food for my fur baby. The line was very long, overhead system keep going off about service calls etc. the store looked the worst than it had in 2 years. The dog clean up station was out of supplies and the shelves were so bare. It was such a sad feeling in the store. I didn't see any of the regular workers here or I would have said something like " what's going on, this place is a mess! Did people call off???" Joking but not joking. The girl who rang me up: no name tag first off, no greeting , just " do you have a rewards account". I gave her my number and she just didn't put my rewards or my nutrition discount or ask.... So rude !!!!!cause I have a membership. After I asked to to put my rewards in and my discount in, my total came down significantly. Thank goodness I didn't just wipe and pay. The Petco on Adams in HB I've been taking my pup to recently has a vet inside and is so modern, super clean, organized, and team members are extremely customer service trained. I called the nearest Petco and groomer Christian V. immediately offered to take Misty in for an emergency Flea & Tick shampoo .
