As a groomer you should expect dogs to be unwilling for grooms. As a vet tech myself who works with dogs everyday and constantly works with unwilling dogs i still make sure i get the job done. Never assume all dogs are going to be 100%. Went in there today with our dog and they declined her because she kept tucking her but when they went to go pick her up because they were trying to pick her up by her stomach which we told them she didnt like. They also said they don't muzzle or cone which is kinda strange considering the environment. Time absolutely wasted and do not recommend. The groomer even jumped when our dog moved to go against the wall. Go get a different job since you obviously cant handle this one. read more

I went to our local petco tonight with my two children, 7 and 9, to pick out beta fish after my daughter's goldfish passed this weekend. We picked out everything, including the fish, tanks, and decoration. As we were taking one final look at the fish an associate started organizing the beta fish saying "people keep moving these" and then without looking in our direction asked what we were getting and what set up we had at home completely missing the fact our cart was filled with supplies. After I responded that we were getting all the supplies she then critiqued the tank setup we had chosen and said she'd recommend a bigger tank that was only $16 more because otherwise we'd have to clean the tank twice a week and that's a headache. After I responded that I'd think about it, she started walking away, saying, "I'm not sure my manager will feel comfortable with the setup you chose." I was shocked. I hid my disgust with the situation from my kids and headed to the register to find the associate there on their phone. After putting it away and after I emptied our cart, he said, "So beta fish actually need at least 2.5 gallon tanks." We left without purchasing anything. I'm in complete aw about how these associates can refuse to sell us two beta fish with a more than adequate setup. I never spoke to a manager, was never acknowledged more than with criticism and I left that store with two crying children after we spent almost an hour enjoying our time browsing and deciding what decorations would look best with their fish. I would never recommend anyone going to petco. They don't actually care about the beta, pets, or families they attend to but rather selling you bigger and more expensive supplies that you don't need. ​ read more

This PetCo was actually a very nice store. The associates were very welcoming and kind and greeted me upon my arrival. The store itself was very clean. Prices are competitive. Overall, it was an enjoyable shopping experience. I picked up the few items I needed for a doggie Christmas gift and then wandered around the store. I checked out all the fish, which all looked happy and had squeaky clean tanks. Then I wandered over to the lizards and small mammals they have available. The ferrets and the bunnies were being very lazy, of course my visit was during a normally scheduled afternoon nap for fuzzy buddies. There were friendly guinea pigs, gerbils, hamsters, mice, and a few birds as well. I felt like the only person shopping in the store so I took my time and greeted all the animals. They when you stop and say hi ;) All of the animals were being well-cared for and had clean cages/pens. It was difficult, but I left with just the doggie gifts I came in to purchase. I would have loved to take a fuzzy buddy home with me though :) read more

I'd give it a zero if I could. The customer service has gone way down hill over the past few years. I'm never greeted when I walk in, yet there are employees standing around doing nothing. A simple hello goes a long way. Rude and not willing to help. Takes forever to get someone to actually help you. That place needs an entire new team read more

some staff are rude. waited around for a while today waiting to be helped. both working fish employees were talking with just one customer and refused to acknowledge my existence. i had to look around the store for another employee and finally found one, but then she informed me she was off the clock. she tried to help anyways and went to the blonde girl working the fish and said i needed help. the girl just ignored her. ive had problems with this particular employee before and ive always been polite to her. ill find another store for my pet needs from now on. read more

We got our puppies nail trimmed a few days ago, and they truly did an amazing job! They are just the right length. Probably the best one yet. We were very pleased. read more

This Petco is ok. The employees are usually quite friendly. The reptile cages are not very clean and fish tanks usually have quite a few floaters in them. The chameleons need better misting and are very over crowded in their cage. Some prices of items are very over priced while other items are quite cheaper than other places. read more

I had my dog bathed and nails trimmed by Kaci Esperes at Petco. She was so good with my dog and he smelled wonderful and looked beautiful when she was finished. She surprised me with a costume on him as it was Halloween weekend. She is such a dog lover and great at her job. I highly recommend Kaci and Petco! read more

The staff is always so friendly and happy. They don't just talk to me but get to know my dog and his needs.

AVOID. Petco, especially the location in West Bend, does an awful job at caring for animals it sells. I bought two leopard geckos (it was my own fault, I knew it was a lost cause) from this location about two years ago. One died within 3 weeks of anorexia and the other I had to spend two months force-feeding after a local reptile vet told me she was a lost cause. She eventually recovered and is doing well. This is the only place in West Bend I can buy crickets to feed her so I go every 2-3 weeks and each time the care of animals is worse. First, the reptiles had no moist hides to shed until I complained to management that I worked at a local humane society and I knew their care was deplorable. The manager told me they didn't give moist hides to help shedding reptiles because they 'get adopted so quickly'. I told her I knew most met a more horrible ending and I didn't believe her crap. The next week there were moist hides, though too packed and dry to help any reptile. Now I notice tanks are never cleaned until all 'stock' either is sold or (most likely) died. They even have baby (the size of a dot) crickets that are from crickets that have laid eggs in the tanks and hatched because no one ever cleans the tanks. These can soil a tank QUICKLY. I've had a gecko two years and had baby crickets hatch ONCE and cleaned the entire tank before I'd let my gecko back into it. Most of the animals are in a state of starvation. The employees have ZERO animal care experience. If there was anywhere else I could go to buy crickets in a 10 mile radius I would. read more
