Nope! Took my dog here for a mani. No one was in grooming so I waited. I figured they were in the back - but it was quite quiet. After shuffling a few emails, I popped out to ask the front and they assured me they're with another dog and to wait. Again went back to wait. It was clear no one was there - and zero movement/sound from the "employee only" area. I went back out to inquire when they would be back. I was then told the very same thing as before. And when I explained there is truly no one there - the walls are glass afterall. Then she asked what time my appointment was. I confirmed I am a walk in - since they advertise "walk ins are welcome". She then reroutes back to me just having to wait. Was the groomer in lunch? Restroom? I was simply asking so I could manage next steps and was given nothing to work with. The lack of knowledge, the lack of assistance, the zero effort to inquire or find resolution, the combative and condescending tone - just no. In a brick and mortar, customer facing establishment that caters specifically to the public's fur babes you can do better. I didn't need to be told to wait another time when there are plenty of groomers that would be happy for my business and to do my happy sweet pupps nails. Good luck read more

WORST GROOMING EVER!!! Our regular groomer had to cancel due to a positive covid employee in her shop. I needed my dog groomed and thought why not give petco a chance. They said they had an opening with Kira. I explained what kind of dog I had and what I wanted and they were fine with that. Can't be that bad if I'm only asking for a small trim? WRONG!!! My dog is white a fluffy and I brush him daily so it shouldn't be too bad. Four hours later I got a call to pick him up. I was excited to see him and his cute little trim, but I was completely shocked to see him trimmed to less than 1/2 and inch! Mind you he must have had about 4 inches of hair when I brought him in. Again this was my first time there so when I arrived to pick him up, they direct you to pay for your service at the register and then they bring the dog out. So i did as instructed, paid and left gratuity, went back with my receipt to pick up my dog. Man was I surprised to see my bald looking dog. He was excited to see me and jumping all over the place so I put his little coat on and left. We went upstairs to target to shop and so I could get a better look at him and noticed just how short his hair really was. The hair on his feet wasn't trimmed and he looked like he had little grinch feet. I also noticed how one side was really long and uneven. Since I paid $94 including gratuity, I brought him back and asked them to even it out. The was a man who helped the girl "even it out." He didn't fix anything. They snipped around for a min or two and said he was done. I couldn't tell they were annoyed I brought him back, but he looked bad. All in all it was a terrible haircut and experience. I was so upset the next day I took him to the petco nearest my house and asked for a refund. The store manager was shocked how poorly he looked and had one of his groomers even out the cut. They refunded my the cost and did their best to make up the experience. The groomer at the shoreline location said it was really bad cut and that they didn't even cut his nails or clean his ears. She deeply apologized and was very kind in helping even him out. It took my dog a couple days to come around and I think even he felt embarrassed being so bald. I'm not saying all petco groomers are bad, but I would definitely stay away from the northgate location. And they should really let you see the dog before paying for a service. When I called the northgate store to let them know of my experience the man who claimed to be the manager was really unsympathetic and didn't care. Poor service all the way around. Go out of your way and find another place for pet needs. read more

Absolute final time with this company... Brought our dog in for a 1:00 pm grooming appointment. Stopped back in to check on grooming progress at 3:30 and was told he was "next on the table" and that he'd be done in about an hour and a half. Ended up getting called at 4:13 and was told he was ready. My son and I picked him up, and he seemed adequately groomed, tho he seemed to have a few bumpy spots. We also noticed one of his nipples was red and seemed to show a bit of bleeding, and we were told that "he was like that when he came in." Uh, no, it wasn't. Tonight we noticed that his scrotum sack was also cut to the skin and is raw and very inflamed. Unacceptable rush grooming, injures our family pet, and claimed part of the injuries were pre-existing. We stopped in tonight after running an errand in the area and it wasn't the most amazing experience. I wanted to make it a quick trip and I knew exactly what I wanted. But after looking through the entire store for about 5 minutes, I started to feel like there were no employees there. I wasn't the only one looking for an employee either. When I did finally find someone, there's no way you could really tell she even worked there without catching her nametag. Unfortunately they also ended up being out of what I was looking for--and that was the icing on a not so great cake. read more

picked up my dog from getting groomed her back paws were bloody from being wicked i noticed once I got home, very disappointed. It would have been nice to be told she had been wicked her nails are black and white so it's not easy to cut them. but ignoring the fact that it happened is not the way I feel this should have been handled. read more

I brought my maltipoo in for the 2nd time (a first, more successful, visit was in early 2020) & had a rather disappointing experience. I told the tech (royalty, no less:) ) that I wanted pooch styled like the 2 large pictures I submitted (with a few written notations.) Instead, my dog looks like a stranger, all poodle & no malti. Boo. I actually asked one of the staff (can't recall if it was the stylist or not) whether they'd review my brief notes & 2 pics, & was assured that was the case...Was also told they'd call me when dog was ready - never happened. Had the worst experience ever with the grooming salon. I took my Yorkipoo in on a Saturday Morning to get a full groom. When I picked her up she had been placed in a VERY loud room in a cage, it sounded like loud fans. My puppy was shaking so much and as soon as we walked like 5 steps she threw up. It took her a while to get back to her usual cheerful self. I noticed her hair was so short but didn't think much of it at the time, after a couple of days I noticed she had more than 5 scabs on her skin!! This happened about 2 months ago, I waited to write this review because I wanted to see how she did with another groomer and it was a night and day comparison. I will NEVER take her to another Petco location again and I would extremely recommend that you didn't take yours either! read more

Lauren in Grooming at the Northgate location was fabulous!!! She took great care of our dog Cleo when we took her in for her 'spa day.' Our pup was a rescue and after two years of having her and our terrible time trimming her nails we decided it was time for a professional grooming. I'm so happy we did, Lauren was very sweet and kind, she did a great job, we will definitely request her next time we go in!!! read more

Tim did a horrible job with my dog, the cut was super choppy without a valid excuse as to why.my dog still has eye boogers so he was not cleaned well. I've come in here a few times just to look around, and I came by a few weeks ago to buy some doggy treats. The associate that I asked was super helpful, walked me to the treats, and then walked me back to the cashier to ring me up. I had a few questions about the specific treat, and she was knowledgeable and suggested a highly-rated brand, and the dogs that I was watching, loved them! Customer service is quick and friendly! Of all the times I've been to this location, staff always greeted and assisted me with friendly manners. I recently took my little girl for the vaccinations they offer. It is a great deal and they treat your furry friends with good care. I got a name tag for her the other day. Today I went in to return a cat watering fountain I had purchased about a month ago. When I originally purchased the item, I brought it home and immediately noticed one of the filters had burst open and released little gel silicon beads everywhere. So I drove back immediately to the store to exchange it for a different one. During this transaction, Marissa, a store clerk helped me. When she authorized the exchange, she kept my original receipt and gave me only the new receipt for the exchange. I EXPLICITLY asked her, "Can I still get a full refund with this receipt if I change my mind about the fountain?" She quickly and confidently answered yes and assured me I had 60 days to receive a full refund with the receipt she handed back to me. Unfortunately for me, my cat passed away one week later and I no longer needed the fountain. So today I went to return it with the receipt from the exchange that Marissa assisted me with, and the store clerk helping me, Rhiannon, seemed unsure on what to do. She asked for assistance from a male employee, who seemed to be the manager and he told her I could only get store credit since I didn't have my original receipt (the one that was withheld from me by the previous employee from my exchange). When I explained that to the clerk, she was quick to respond, "I can only do store credit, so I can just do that if you want." This entire situation with the fountain has been nothing but an inconvenience and mistake on Petco's part from the very beginning. I am a retail manager myself and I would never resolve an issue this way. I understand that employees make mistakes, but surely there could have been some sort of override to give me my full refund. Now I'm stuck with $35 of credit for a store that has no use to me, as my pet is no longer alive. read more

We have tried and tried. This grooming spot is completely unacceptable. Showed up for what I thought was my 1230 at 1215. Was told 'you were a no show' 3 times. Also was could 'you can leave him if you want and he'll be done some time between now and 6'. Yeah. I thanks. You're rude lady and I don't want you touching my dog. This is the third time I've tried this place and and fed up. Customer service is not the reason to come here. I won't be back. Ever. Apparently my spot was given away. Did I mention I waited almost 5 minutes before anyone came out? That would have made it 1210 for my 12 appointment I thought was 1230. Took time out of my busy work schedule to bring my dog here. I have been coming to this Petco since November 2018, and initially had my reservations because it's a big chain store. Additionally, a different Petco that I used to frequent back in college was basically staffed by college students who clearly didn't care about animals, so I've been skeptical ever since. That being said, I've been pleasantly surprised by the Northgate location! Most of the staff I've interacted with clearly love animals as much as I do, and aside from the poor souls who need to work the end-of-the-evening shift, I can see how much the staff run their store from a place of loving animals! The grooming salon was also pleasantly surprising. The women who run salon all love dogs and are so sweet and ernest. It's truly an adorable establishment. I get my dog's toe nails trimmed there because he hates it when we try, and we have to trim every month because he has long quicks. My favorite salon stylist to date is Patricia, who somehow manages to finish quickly without traumatizing my pooch. read more

Do not schedule with Sierra L! She is awful. My small/medium doodle mix has been cared for by different groomers every 8 weeks or so for the last 2+ years. We've never had any comments about his behavior except that he doesn't like the hairdryer. I told Sierra L this at drop off. When I picked our dog up, she told my son & I that he 'nipped' her & that, if it happened again at a future appointment, he would be required to receive a training course before he could be groomed there again. Note: she emphasized that it wasn't bad, but she would be concerned if it became a pattern. We apologized & left her an extra large tip. When our dog was brought out, I noticed he was shaking in an unusual way. Also, his haircut was just bad. The whole situation felt really off, but we said nothing. We just decided to go back to our dog's regular groomer, at a different Petco location, from now on. Imagine my surprise when I went to schedule our dog's next appointment & discovered that he has been banned from all Petco grooming locations. Sierra L lied to us. I don't understand why she would tell us one thing & do something else. It's just passive aggressive & terrible. Not to mention, she is a bad groomer. I wish I had not given her an extra large tip. I think the 'secret ban' was her attempt to cover for her poor treatment of our dog while still milking us for a big tip. If he even actually bit her at all, I think she caused it. Luckily, his regular groomer knows our dog well & reversed the ban & told us that he is ALWAYS very sweet. Do not schedule with Sierra L. First, we drove an hour to Northgate location from West Seattle ( all other Petcos were booked)...Horrible customer service from groomer, "Cutty" she doesn't know her breeds and wanted to shave my dog, who is a Carin Terrier. You NEVER shave this breed. Plus she claimed he was matted (not true). I saw her get on the floor and comb his coat. Then she wanted to charge me AT LEAST another $45 on top of the $52. Cutty was snarky and nasty. I explained to her I couldn't afford that price and she just stared at me. As we left my son said, " We came here for nothing"and she replied, "Well sweetie your mom can't afford it." Mean, mean...i have never been treated like this at any of the other Petcos! Our fur child has gone in a handful of times since our relocation to Seattle. They have always done a wonderful job. Our only complaint was that he'd get "the works" even after we specified "just a cut". That complaint is very minor as their staff including, the dog trainer Sylvia helped us in an emergency this past weekend. On the way up to the escalator our dog (who has had his share of escalator rides) got his paw stuck and his paw was shredded. It was horrific to say the least. The grooming staff along with Sylvia helped us by providing us with water to clean him and towels to apply pressure. They directed us to the nearest vet and best of all the followed up with a phone call to make sure he was okay. They were SO helpful and thoughtful to follow-up. I am forever loyal to them. First off, let me say that I am basing my rating on just the grooming. I thought that the store itself was great but their grooming department is HORRIBLE. I called a week out to schedule an appointment for my dog to get groomed and next thing you know, they don't have me anywhere on their calendar. Then when I finally brought my dog in for her appointment, they said it should not take longer than 1 hour. We came 1 hour and 30 minutes later and she's still not finished. She took like 3 hours! On top of that, when we got our dog home, she was shaking and very antsy AND she was even throwing up!!! They gave her a crappy cut, uneven in so many places and didn't cut her hair the way we requested. I don't know what the heck they did to her but I will NEVER EVER go back for grooming. This is a new location of Petco in the Northgate complex eighths Target, Best Buy etc. There is a parking garage it is connected to or you can park across the street at the mall itself. The store isn't too large like other free standing locations but it seems to have the staples. The grooming dept was very small and the gal was a little under excited when we walked in to setup an appt. It didn't seem overly busy at all. Clean store overall and perhaps it will be busier and friendlier when more ppl start coming here. read more

I live much closer to the u district petco but I like the Northgate location better. I bring my dogs for grooming. The dogs seem to enjoy going and the groomers do a great job. One of my dogs has a tough time sitting still but they always manage to get him cleaned up well. I had tried other groomers in the area but it's hard to beat the convenience and price of petco. Plus the staff is super friendly and you get the impression that they really care about the animals. read more

I'm going to start out by saying Odie (my four year old Yorkie) has been going to Petco in lynnwood for years with Ashley. I've never had an issue like this before and I believe this is more of a branch issue. When I walked in I showed Tim photos and videos of odies past haircuts. He looked at me like I had just explained how a light bulb works. Besides the point I figured "what's the worst than can happen?" Mmmmm.... well my dog is not neutered, he is a pure bread stud. When he got home his haircut was a little off but I figured maybe Tim was new and I'd cut the guy a break. However odies cajones had a fat scratch on them. Leading him to rub his cajones all over my rug at home and irritating it further. Yes this is hilarious but also it is upsetting this man doesn't know how to cut a dogs pubes without doing some damage. Will not be coming back to this branch. Please train y'all's groomers better. The very least Tim could have donee is let me know an accident happened (it happens, not a big deal) but I was freaked out and thought something was very wrong when it was just a little scrape from the groomers. Went in with my husband to pick up some dog food. The woman working the cash register (tall, strawberry blonde, I believe), was incredibly hostile to me. I honestly have no idea why. They weren't about to close, we didn't need special help with anything. I didn't use their card machine correctly - when I was attempting to donate to a charity - but that's it. Maybe she was having a bad day, but don't take that out on customers! Looking at other reviews, sounds like they're known for terrible service. Believe the reviews! Go somewhere else! read more

NEVER HAVE CUTTY GROOM YOUR DOG HERE!!! I brought in my 8 month old Dalmatian for the second time to be groomed here after previously having a wonderful experience with another groomer. My dog had been in their care for over 2 hours and when I came in to check on her I could hear her crying in the kennel being neglected as she was fully dry and not even finished with her grooming! Cutty has still not clipped her nails or done the extras we selected for their spa package. When Cutty finally brought my dog out she had still forgotten one of the extras we had selected and applied her paw balm in the waiting room hastily. I've never seen my dog so terrified of a person before as she has always been loving to all people. With further inspection of my dog after we left she still even had dirt on her face and hind legs. BIGGEST WASTE OF 50+ $ I've ever spent and I feel terrible about leaving my dog in this persons care. read more

WORSE GROOMING STAFF EVER! Patricia moved to Ballard so don't bother coming back in here and just go make appointments with Patricia. I brought my chow in for grooming just like I would any other time at the Lynnwood and Northgate locations and they said my pup was being antsy and MIGHT give up if she's anxious! She's NOT and we've never had that problem. So much excuses to work, they should have told me that way beforehand and all of a sudden they have this problem? I don't get it. I've been to this groomer's about three times and have been happy. I was a little worried because this time the groomer I had used before was no longer there and really wasn't in the mood to have to go home and "fix" a hair cut that I'd paid for. I checked in with Sheana and she was very thorough about determining how I wanted my dog's hair cut and other services needed. Having had bad experiences at other places in the past, I kind of braced myself as I went back to pick him up but was very happy with the hair cut and overall service that I received. Will definitely be going back to this location and asking for Sheana. read more

Do not get your animals groomed here. If you do make sure cutty is not the groomer. She admits she has a low skill level and can't handle grooming most dogs. My dog is 6 years old and has been to multiple groomers and as soon as he came back after she groomed him he was timid and scared and didnt come out of him kennel for almost a day. Please don't let her hurt your animal too! I then went to another groomer and they told me i didn't have to go back to them but to please never go back to where i went before because they could tell my dog was mistreated and abused the last place he was groomed. read more
