Avoid this place at all costs! I had my dog groomed there once and she asked me if I wanted my dog shaved and when I said no, she said - "oh, I'm already half way through". Then they tried to charge me $14 extra for shaving the dog! Then went back to get my dog's shots there. Paid extra for a heartworm test but they won't let you order anywhere but Petco and only for the most expensive medicine there is. I have to make an appt to go back in and ask for the generic. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PETCO!!!! This Petco needs huge customer service changes. I made an appointment for both of my puppies on a Sunday maybe a month before. when got there, there were no lights. Since I was a little bit early for my appointment, I decided to wait. Then at 9:00, I got out and still no one was there and there was no power. I saw no one in there. I then left and called up the store. The manager told me to bring my puppies back. When I came back, the manager came out with a young ignorant guy who overrode the manager's decision of taking care of my puppies. She was with him and agreed with him. They lied to me telling me that they were looking for an appointment. They even blocked my online account They also lied telling me that they were in at 9:00 and no, they were not. read more

This was my first time taking my dog to Petco for grooming. It seemed clean and didn't smell bad. When I returned to pick up my dog my bill was sitting on ther counter so I took it to the register to pay. There I was asked to tip even though I had not seen my dog yet. I tipped and regretted it. When the bringer brought Mt dig to me I knelt down to pet beer and look at her. The groomer provided zero feedback. She didn't even speak to me. It was so awkward. At home I noticed that both my dog's dew claws were cut SO short that there was quite a bit it'd dried blood in the fur around them. I had paid extra to have them buffed so that they wouldn't get cut too short. I will not take her there again. read more

We took my dog to Petco for grooming once. I assumed that since we had an appointment we could wait and they would do it at her appointment time. She was escorted to a kennel instead and was not groomed right away. They told us that it would take a few hours. She is a small beagle mix. No reason for it to take that long. About a few days after her grooming she started coughing. She caught kennel cough while she was there. She has been on 3 rounds of antibiotics and one round of steroids. A $60 grooming has now cost us over $700 so far. Hoping this last round of meds will take care of it. Never again, Petco! Very disappointed!! read more

Tropical fish selection is sad. Really only small undernourished tetras or platys. Good selection of food and tank equipment.

For being a national chain, they have what you need in that normal sterilized feel of a store. It's not a bad thing, just something you notice. You don't want to buy a filthy rodent from a filthy store, haha! Overall it's what it is...a store for pet stuff. It accomplishes that well. They always have what I need for a retail-high price. Love this Petco!!! I have been here several times. Their staff is very attentive and professional and answered several questions about my cat related items. They are very nice to my son as well! Everything is well organized and easy to find, and shopping here is in and out! Loving all the Halloween costumes for the pets coming out! Definitely worth coming to this location read more

I adore this store. The people who work here are incredibly helpful and go out of their way to make sure you know exactly what you're getting. They always have coupons for us and I feel like I don't have to research every item before I buy it because of Petco's newer policies on ingredients. The best part of this location is Katie, the wonderful groomer. I was so worried about dropping my dog off because she's very nervous with new people since she came from an abusive situation. Katie carried her out and my dog actually was excited to see Katie when we were back in the store today. I almost cried because I was so relieved and glad. This place - in particular the grooming salon - is a mess. We had an appointment at 1 o'clock for washing only. We told the groomers that we need the dog back by 3:30 to 3:45 twice. First time at reservation and second time when we drop our dog off. We even agreed to pay a rush fee. Both times the staff confirmed that this is not a problem. At 4:00pm we picked him up. The did absolutely nothing. Our dog was locked up for the entire time (3h). No service was rendered. The store manager said that this isn't a big deal and that they gave him water during this time. That we had an appointment didn't bother him. It's an animal. Thank you Petco! Last time that we will use their service. No one of us would sit in a waiting room for so long. Animals are not their passion, just an object which the convert to dollars. read more

Started going here a few years ago when Petsmart stopped carrying my dogs kibble (Avoderm). They had a really nice layout, there were live animals in the middle and the aisles were arranged in a circular pattern around them. Everything was easy to find and the checkouts were conveniently located. Went in last night to grab a bag of food and the entire store is completely re-arranged. I have no idea what the purpose of this move was but everything is tight, cramped and disorganized. To top it off apparently they now have less room for dog food so they no longer carry Avoderm. Whatever suit came up with this idea should not only be fired but have to pay out of pocket to redesign the store closer to what it originally looked like. This will cause this store to lose me as a customer read more

We're from California and had to stop to get some anti itch stuff for our dog and we got all the help that we needed. Katie the grooming stylist helped us with so much and was so sweet. We ended up getting all three of our dogs nails trimmed by Katie and Hayley and they were amazing. If we ever live Missouri we will definitely come back for the great customer service. read more

They are in a convenient location and the store is well kept. Huge selection of dog food. However, to quote the manager "We only stock what we sell." This was the snarky response I received when inquiring about a different food for my dog. The options were the 4lb bag or 30lb bag. 4lbs is to small and pricey and 30lbs is to much to see if it will work with my dog. Their inventory has been an issue for a long time. Ok this review is for the fish section. Of all the Petco locations in St Charles County this is hands down the best. The tanks are very clean and the fish always look good. As far a saltwater goes, this store has the best selection and the staff is knowledgable. Now I'm speaking of big chain stores and not specialty reef stores. Obviously they do not have the room for endless corals and large fish. But they usually have a great selection of marine fish and critters. The prices are always cheaper than the specialty stores and several times a year they have great sales. If your looking for a clean well stocked fish section this is the Petco to go to. read more

I will not be coming back to this location. I had called to check and turns out that this is one of the only locations in my area that has a self service bathing station. I ask when they closed because we wanted to give our dog a bath. She said 6pm and we hung up the phone. So we drove the almost 40 minutes to petco arriving around 5:10pm. We walk in and they tell us that we can't use the self service tub because you have to be done by 5:30pm. I told her that I called and no one said anything about being done by 5:30. She didn't care and did nothing to remedy the situation. This location has bad customer service. Don't waste your time here. Take your animals to a place that actually cares and values them. read more

The grooming salon is terrible. Despite having an appointment they have an attitude of 'we get to it when we get to it' and in the mean time the dogs are crated. I do not crate my dog and being groomed is stressful for him. I expected PetCo to be compassionate towards animals however this is not the case at the PetCo on Zumbehl. They did not see a problem with leaving him crated for hours before they even considered starting his bath. He is a small dog and they said we can expect it to take up to eight hours for a bath! This is crazy... it is because they crate them for hours. I would never consider using their grooming salon again. read more

Went in to buy some fish and some aquarium supplies. Found a few aquarium items that I could use, but the selection was very small. Could not find anyone to help with fish, I waited for help for about 20 minutes before giving up and only purchasing the other items. read more
