Sending our 8 month old Lab to K9 Solutions for training was the best thing we ever did! They helped to shape our pup into the dog we knew he could be! Our lab is high energy, full of love, playfulness, and equal amounts of being ornery. That mixed with bringing home a brand new baby wasn't going to work. So we did some research and came across this program. After speaking with Tommy, he took the time to explain the program and why they do what they do. It put me at ease to know that our sweet pup would be in the hands of people who actually care. He will still be loved and cared for alongside his training program. While in training, we got constant pictures, videos, and updates of our pup from our trainer Amanda. That helped put our hearts at ease as we missed him every day! We saw things he was working on with the trainer, how he was responding and even got to see pictures and videos of them working with him in public at public venues that allow dogs. We got to see his progress and see that he was well taken care of and treated with love and care. We chose the 2 week training program with boarding, and even though It was hard to leave our pup for 2 weeks, it was the best decision we ever made!!! When boarding the dogs, they are well cared for. They are kept clean, healthy and have special attention time outside of just training. They also allowed us to come to the facility to work with our pup when his training was over. This was to teach us all the ins and outs of what he had learned, and have the trainers guidance as we worked our pup on the different commands. When we welcomed our pup back home after his training, we couldn't have been more impressed! He was still our sweet and loving high-energy puppy, but he had control! He listened to commands, we were able to create boundaries at home, he no longer jumped on us but could be excited and contain himself. He was a brand new dog, but yet still the sweet, fun-loving dog we knew! Most importantly, he was gentle and easy with our newborn baby girl. We no longer worry if he is going to jump on us as we are carrying her or jump on the furniture when we are sitting with her. Instead, he sits next to us or walks alongside us as her protector. One of the best parts of this training is knowing that we have lifetime support from K9 Solutions. When you do a board and train, you will get lifetime support from them to do refresher courses if needed. It is so reassuring to know that if we need additional help, they will be there for us at no additional charge! If it wasn't for Tommy's confidence in his program and reassurance that our pup would come back the same pup but better, I don't know what we would have done. I could tell the love that Tommy had for what he does and that was all I needed to know. Our trainer Amanda was phenomenal! You can tell she is a pro and natural at what she does! And you can tell she loves what she does! Her love, care, and commitment to the pups she is training is evident and we couldn't be more thankful to her for all she did for our pup! She even did an at home check with us 2 weeks after brought him home to make sure there was no regression! He was so excited to see her, and it was like he was ready to work again, knowing who she was! We highly recommend K9 Solutions and their training programs! They are professionals that care about the dogs, and take pride and dedication in what they do. This is one of the most well rounded training programs that is run for all the right reasons. Modern K9 has helped train 2 of our dogs that foster failed. A human selective dog and another dog aggressive dog. Plus they trained my husband how to be a better handler. When other training groups failed they helped...and both dogs have lifetime training support. They work with several area rescues helping difficult dogs get the help they need to be adoptable. I brought my German Shepherd there a few weeks ago and I was nervous as hell since he's never been away from me for more than 2 days. Modern K9 was phenomenal. During Thor's training they kept me updated with pictures and videos and when I went to do my training when I picked him up they were so helpful. We started bringing our puppy to Modern K9 Solutions in June, he was 4 months old. We started with day training where we'd bring him in a couple of days per week for basic obedience. Since, we did group lessons and a 2 week board and train. I know the trainers are amazing, not only because of the training our pup has received, but the fact he's excited every time we walk through the doors. That tells me he's being trained and LOVED on. I was very happy with them my great dane loved this place and was always excited to go. Today we went going to sign up my great dane puppy and they said that we where missing some paper work and we said we wold bring it next time. Then they said that my other dog did not have any shots (witch you can't go if they are not there) we said would bring the stuff so they could put it in the system we where told we have to leave and we said that we could not bc we had the dog in training then she called the owner and lied and said that we cussed her out. The owner comes 20 minutes later walkes in and said we have to leave and we tried to tell are side of the story but he did not listen and he kicked us out and gave us a $200 refund when we only $20 so I would not go there ever again. I heard about MK9 through a shelter I was working at and was incredibly impressed when Tommy took some of our most human aggressive dogs and literally just walked up to them and began working with them. The turn around in their behavior in the quick 10 minute sessions he gave us a taste of at the shelter was like nothing I had ever seen before. So after sending one of our fosters there for human aggression rehabilitation, I knew I wanted to send my personal dog there as well. She had dog reactivity problems and could scarcely go out in public without shaking and vocalizing and pulling me places to get to other dogs, it was MISERABLE. We take our dogs everywhere and I wanted her to be apart of that. We did the 5 week lesson package and got one on one help and by the end of it we were walking around petsmart and the riverfront without her even glancing at other dogs! Our foster fail who is human aggressive/selective has been in training for 2 years now thanks to their lifetime support and he is now walking up to complete strangers and meeting them on his terms! We also take full advantage of their boarding they offer for their board and train dogs because nobody knows how to handle Mr. Zeke (or wants to ;D) like they do! He is SO EXCITED every time we get off the exit in warrenton because he knows where he is going! MK9 teaches you to be a better handler and gives you the tools to help your fur baby through things. We recommend them to all our family and friends here. Though we are based in O'Fallon, the drive to Warrenton is worth it! read more

Our sweet girl, Layla went to board and train with Modern K9 and learned so many skills! She has only been home for a day, but we already see all the hard work that her and her trainers put into her :) We received updates, videos and pictures at least every other day on Layla's progress. We had a 2 hour training session on pick up day so that we could learn the tools that the trainers used and how to be confident in handling her. Two of my dogs have gone through the board and train program (at separate times) at Modern K9 Solutions. Both dogs LOVE the trainers and being there. Not once did they show any kind of distress nor did I feel as if they were mistreated in any way. Our Ara is a boxer mix and was the first to attend their training. She was showing aggression and wasn't listening to us at all. 3 years later, even though I don't work with her, she still understands the commands and I never feel that I do not have control over her behavior. She's much more polite but hasn't lost her spirit. Brinkley went into training early in 2023 and has been trained to be a service dog. He LOVES to still go up there for more training. If I ever have a question regarding either dog I can contact the trainers, including the owner, and get the help I need. I highly recommend Modern K9 Solutions for all dog training. I will never take my dogs anywhere else. (I might add that I drive almost 2 hours to take the dogs up there to train.) read more
