The manager at the Petco in Revere, MA (Zach) gave me one of the most unprofessional and inappropriate experiences I've ever had at any store. I came in with unopened items, valid receipts, and within the return window. Instead of assisting me, Zach told me he "could not do the return," said he "sees me frequently in the store," and even accused me of making "suspicious purchases" and "suspicious returns." I have a dog with serious medical issues and severe anxiety, so yes -- I've made two returns in the last three months. That is not illegal, not against Petco policy, and not grounds to treat a customer like a problem. His comments were completely out of line and carried an accusatory tone that made me uncomfortable enough that I had to bring someone with me. He then: Gave false information about my account being blocked Refused to use the transaction lookup Told me to "call corporate" for a cash return Walked away from me and refused to speak further, even while I stood inside the store on the phone with corporate and they were requesting to speak with him. Blocked a return that Petco Saugus processed instantly with zero issues Because he refused to do his job, I ended up with: An Uber to Revere and back for absolutely nothing. Another Uber to Saugus and back, which never would've been necessary if he had done his job. Hours on the phone with corporate and other stores. Time off work Stress, frustration, and uncertainty about even shopping at this store again For clarity: Emani and Jose at the Revere location were kind, professional, and actually tried to help. The problem is entirely the manager. If you want to feel respected or get basic help, skip the Revere Petco and go straight to Petco Saugus -- they fixed everything in minutes. read more

I have brought my dog to Petco for grooming several times. While my first visit was pleasant and I was satisfied with the service, each subsequent visit has been increasingly disappointing.this was my 4th visit Each time we visit, we are met with a new groomer, making it difficult for my dog to feel comfortable or build trust. On one occasion, I paid ($140 )for a spring special that was supposed to include a nail trim and teeth brushing, but neither service was completed. Most recently, I received a call during her appointment stating that she was being "challenging" and that they were unable to fully groom her. When I arrived, she was only partially shaved. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, the staff showed no empathy or apology. Additionally, the person who initially took my dog to the back seemed disengaged and made no effort to introduce herself to my dog, which immediately concerned me. I am a loyal 25-year Petco Customer. Today (11/15/25), I placed an on-line order for pick-up at the Petco-Revere. When I entered the Petco, I noticed my order at the front of the store. My order was thrown on the floor behind the cash register, so I know they knew they had my order and I was coming to pick-up my order. I am a disabled senior citizen who experiences lot of a pain making it very difficult for me to stand. I stood patiently in a very long check-out line only to be told we cannot give you your order because we cannot prove you paid for your on-line order even though they had the order already on the floor. I told them I paid in full for my on-line order for in-store pick-up. I was told by the cashier that he did not know how to give me my order. They called Zach, the store manager who was condescending, arrogant, rude and refused to give me my order even though I had my order number and product codes. I explained I drove a long way and stood in a long line to pick-up my order instead of having it delivered. I asked again for my #* order. Then, Zach said I cannot prove you paid for your pick-up order. I will not give you your order because you used a swear word and he also refused to cancel my order. According to Massachusetts Consumer Law, it is against the law to refuse to provide the consumer the product or a full refund for product not received. They cannot refuse to keep the product and not provide a refund for not getting the product. Zach started acting violently, when he picked up my order from the floor, told me he would not give it to me, he would not cancel it and threw it heaving it onto a cart. Keeping the product and not issuing a refund for not providing the product is a violation of consumer law. I left the store very upset and my husband who was waiting for me in our car asked what happened that it took so long. My husband is a disabled veteran unable to walk well struggled to go back into Petco Revere to request my order be cancelled since they are unwilling to provide the product that was paid in full and my credit card was charged for the order. Finally, the cashier cancelled the order for my husband not for me the 25-year Petco customer. In 25 years of being Petco customer, I have never been accused of stealing, taking something without paying for it in advance, and being treated with so much disrespect as if I were a criminal thief. Is it because I have gray hair, walked with a limp, and a female cat lady? Why is the Petco in Revere Store Manager Zach treating elderly customers who are disabled so poorly as if we are criminals. If you are an older senior citizen female, then protect yourself and please do not do business with the Petco in Revere. It was a frightening experience for us. No one should be abused like we were today in violation of Massachusetts Consumer Laws. No one it is against the law!!! read more

I paid $77 for my dog, and they only gave her a bath and brushed her teeth, nothing more. They didn't comb her hair, trim her nails, or even cut her fur. She weighs 14 pounds, and she's a small dog, I ask the girl so why I'm paying 77$ dollar when you didn't do anything to her !!! they have the nerve to have such a bad attitude. I brought my French bulldog to the Revere petco for a bath and there was a new employee working. she crouched down and instead of greeting my dog and calming him down she began sticking her hand in his face quickly and repeatedly taunting him to bite her, he got riled up and playfully mouthed her hand because he thought she was playing and she then said she could not do the service on him even though she was baiting him on purpose. very rude and also had tattoos all over her face and didn't seem to know what she was doing working with animals. will not be returning if she works there. read more

It was a really nice store when it first opened, but now they never seem to have any stock and it's always dirty. Every time we go to get dog food they're out. I used to take my dog here for training and grooming four years ago, and they were awesome then. Often all the fish tanks are empty, or there are dead fish. It's a shame to see it go so far downhill. The staff left working there are always helpful, but there just don't seem to be enough of them. It needs a good clean and more attention payed to the few animals they actually sell. This store is fairly clean with mediocre stock levels. We mostly shop online, but this store is really convenient for us for last-minute items. We went in for treats for our new puppy; unfortunately, they didn't have one of the brands we were looking for so we settled on something else. They had a nice holiday display at the front which roped us into getting a Christmas bag of Zuke's treats (she loved them!). We also looked at the harnesses, but they were out of stock of Mediums in most of the designs. They do have some cool toys here that I've never seen before. The employees are fairly nice; one gentleman in particular was extremely helpful and loved showering our puppy with affection. Petco is a great place for pet supplies. Not only can you purchase cat and dog items here they also have a variety of small animals birds and fish items. They also have small animals for sale such as bunny rabbits guinea pigs birds in an array of tropical fish. I frequent here for bunny supplies. The litter the food the bedding and snacks are very reasonably priced and always in stock. The thing I like about this place is you're allowed to bring your pets here so there's always the dog out to walking around to say hello to. Parking is very easy as it's located in N. Gate Shopping Center so there's extensive parking right out front. The staff I find to be very polite and willing to help. I find the shelves to be stocked well and neatly. All in all a great place to pick up a small animal bird fish or supplies. read more

I'd been taking my dog here to Nydia for grooms over the past couple years. Today I went in and was told Nydia was not available . Another groomer, who appeared to be the shift manager, would perform the groom. When I returned home I notice a good size cut on one of her back legs. It was clear the cut was cleaned up. The dog had no cuts anywhere on her body prior to the groom. I never had any problems such as this when using Nydia for my dog's grooms. But I do know accidents can happen and should've been told something about this injury when I picked her up. I called the groomer to find out what happened. The groomer outright lied and said she knew nothing about a cut. Nor did she even ask how the dog was. In any event I made a call to Petco corporate. No person should pick up their pet from a basic groom with a cleaned cut and told nothing happened. Never going back to Petco after this experience. read more

WORST VET EVER! Only make an appointment for the Health Exam. Provided EVERY information, especially the DATE of the first TWO VACCINES. The vet gave my baby kitten a third shot when she was examining WITHOUT asking for my PERMISSION. The vet's behavior was completely UNETHICAL！ Usually having only one cat in the house doesn't require a third dose. The APPROPRIATE date for the third dose is three to four weeks after the second dose. It's only been TWO WEEKS since my kitten got her second shot, she's NOT ready for the third dose! This vet has NO professional knowledge at all！ Then I received the bill and a CONSENT DOCUMENT. They didn't even SHOW me the document, let alone SIGN IT！I fully understand that every merchant needs to make money, but what they did is FRAUD and shows NO RESPECT FOR LIFE. Had a great experience today at the location in Northgate. Jordan [I hope i'm spelling your name right] was very helpful and answered all of my dog related questions while I waited for a nail trim appointment. Thanks to Jordan I will definitely be looking into training through Petco. Cheryl [the groomer] was so kind and sweet - not to mention she was great with my puppy who gets too excited for his own good. I had called earlier this morning to see if there were any openings and she helped me book over the phone - it was a very seamless process. I had to bring my dogs rabies vaccination certificate, other than that checking in was also very easy. This is already my go to store and I'm glad to know that their grooming services are great - I will definitely use them again in the future. *In regard to COVID - store is super clean, everyone wears masks, and cashiers have plexiglass-like barrier. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. There was pallets of cat and dog food everywhere blocking aisles. Can barely walk through some aisles. There was also no workers to be found!! When I came in the store there was nobody there. I looked through the aisles, nobody. Not until someone was about to purchase something, they had to call for assistance to the front of the store and someone came from the back. There was also 5 dead fish in one tank with one live one. I usually take my 10 month old to Julia who was good but r/s for a diff day because Julia called me and said she wouldn't be there the day my puppy was scheduled so we changed appointments. Upon arrival me and my fiancé were informed it was a different groomer who never called in advance. Seems like this groomer had a bad day/personal vendetta against my baby. Shaved her completely took a quick look at her said she was all matted (which she was not) she is well taken care of! Here's a before and after pic from a week ago on the left and yesterday after her appt on the right. Be aware of this groomer!! When I spoke to complain that how uncomfortable my puppy was and didn't want to speak to said groomer, the groomer had called and basically argued with me when I stated I didn't want to speak with her/ clearly we weren't seeing the same POV. My puppy was not taken in to consideration and was poorly treated. Her ears are hot and I literally had to cuddle her in a blanket to get her comfortable. Now I have the groomers daughters harassing me on fb. So just beware. And Jordan another manager was not very professional that I had spoken to on Sunday due to everything going on. UPDATE: I had received a call from the GM Tim at this location on Monday and he was fantastic at making this horrible situation better. Didn't seem like he was aware of what had been going on but he made a terrible situation and provided my puppy with calming remedies that was much needed because of this situation. Came here to shop around as I had a store coupon for a free bag of cat food with any purchase. I was really pleased to find out that it was a huge store with many small animals like hamsters, mice. Iguanas, snakes...etc. I noticed that it is cheaper to buy pet food here rather than in the grocery store and I will return here in the futures I ended up buying a bag of walnut base cat litter (yet to try) and a freeze dried cod cat treat (which my cat refuses to eat). The VET here is AWESOME! My boyfriend and I went in early on a Saturday morning not aware of the appointment requirements, we were in just a tiny bit of a panic. We had rescued a 3-4wk old kitten the night before and found out the little guy was infested with fleas, wasn't eating and I was also scared my older kitten would catch them. The Vet still came out and helped us and put our minds at easy. He had a line of appointments schedule, but he still took the time to examine the kitten, diagnosis, prescribe and most of all educate us on what to do next! I brought my dog here for a groom a few months back. It was a few months after covid started & trying to get her an appointment anywhere else was crazy. It was like weeks out, but here they were able to take her the next day. I should have known better. I'm only giving stars based on the fact that they got me in within the next day, but the groom was horrible. Unfortunately it wasn't until I got home that I noticed that she looked exactly the same and didn't know what the h*ll I just spent $50+ on. I was so mad!! Not to mention she has not had a proper groom since before covid started. Her nails were cut so terribly they were scratching the heck out of my leg. it's very dirty in there... i hear rats mthe aisles and the pet food is clearly bitten from the rats and there's no one cleaning it. extremely disgusting. there is a section in the far back where it looks like rats have been living there for a while in between the pet food. not to mention the poor animals in their dirty cages. it's gross and i'm not shopping there again. if you need to go to petco please go to the one in SAUGUS the people there are caring and the store is wayyy cleaner read more

Recently scheduled an appointment for our Golden retriever for a full grooming and wash on 5/27 upon arrival they notified us that they wouldn't be able to do a full groom because the person was leaving early and we would need to reschedule for 6/3. The day of the appointment 6/3 after we dropped him off, they called an hour before picking him up and informed us that the they only bathed him, upon picking him up 6 hours later his hair was still wet and uncombed.
