I've gone here 3 times, the first time was better, but then since then they have charged more, done lower quality work, ignored requests (which is simply just a breed cut typically), and really don't seem to appreciate the business they receive. You can go to a chain like pet smart or petco and get a less expensive cut for better quality. On the positive, the location is good and they do have a nice retail section of the store with dog treats, toys, supplies, etc which are nice.

When I made my dogs appointment for grooming I called the dedham location. Once booked, they never…read moreinformed me that the location I called doesn't do grooming and that I'd have to go to their other location in Jamaica plain. I drove 30 minutes to get to the Durham location just for them to tell me that I have to drive 30 minutes in the opposite direction. When I arrived at the correct location, the lady who I spoke to about how I wanted my dogs haircut to look seemed a bit ignorant like she knew nothing about dog haircuts. I showed her a picture of how I wanted my dog to look. They also said that they don't brush dogs teeth which is odd. Never been to a dog salon that doesn't brush the dogs teeth. We were originally told it would take 2 hours and it took almost 3 for my dog to be done. Upon picking up my dog, the lady behind the front desk told my sister and I that the groomer is new and only has under a YEAR of experience. Why wouldn't they tell me that prior to getting my dog groomed? I don't want a rookie to give my dog a botched haircut(which she did) but by this point it was too late. Also, when entering the store, it smells horrible like mildew. My dog came out, his hair choppy and the final result didn't look anything like the photo that I showed the lady( she took a picture of what I showed her so there shouldn't have been any confusion) The sweater I had him wearing was covered in fur, as if they cut his hair with the sweater on. I had to request my leash and collar back from them. Anyways, the people behind the front desk were sticking their faces in front of my dogs face so that he could lick them, letting them kiss their mouth which is honestly gross and not something I want to see. Overall, unhappy with how my dog turned out. Will not be returning.

Tessa has friends at Tails in Boston and always comes home exhausted after playing with them all day. Their overnight staff are so kind and make sure she is comfortable, even though she is not used to sharing space with other animals at night time. I dropped him off first thing in the morning and he was ready within an hour which was perfect. I tried Dog Bulter in the past but after 4 hours they called me to say that my dog is being aggressive. That was news to me, but it turned out that they had 25 other dogs roaming around at the same time. That explained the behavior. They were nice but not suitable for my dog. So I'm happy that I can take my dog to D'tails where the grooming is done more on a one on one basis. I found it a little too pricy but my dog seemd to had a better experience so I'm ok with that.
