Took my dog here for a bath and short haircut that was quoted at $57. When I got my receipt I was charged an extra $20 for a "PETC-ESSENTIALS" add-on I never asked for or was told about. When I confronted staff they couldn't even keep their story straight -- one explanation was that the haircut costs extra, another was that they're required to add it on. On top of that, I was asked to sign paperwork at drop-off without being shown what I was signing. Did some digging and found reviews from September 2024 with the exact same complaint about the same groomer at this location. This has been going on for over a year. Already filed a complaint with the Pennsylvania Attorney General's office. Do yourself a favor and take your pet somewhere that's upfront about what they're charging you. read more

We were told multiple times that our dog would be "a lot of work," in a tone that felt more judgmental than informative. We genuinely tried to be cooperative and accommodating with their requests, but the overall attitude made the situation stressful instead of helpful. At no point did we feel supported or treated with basic customer respect. Grooming can already be a nerve-wracking experience for pet owners, and this interaction only made things worse. Ultimately, we decided it was best to leave rather than continue in an environment where we didn't feel welcome. One of the grooming ladies was super rude and mean. She was extremely unaccommodating and she basically told me that I don't care for my dog well enough. I'm supposed to take my dog (Cavapoo) for grooming once a month which is not true. She said I don't upkeep with his grooming so she's just going have to shave everything off. I simply asked if she could try to keep a little on his of the ears or tail. She went to grab his tail abruptly and he got upset and reacted. Then she said that he was being difficult and I was being difficult and she's not willing to deal with us so we never got a cut. I'm actually glad I didn't leave my dog with these people. read more

I try my very best to stay away from this location, yet every time I am in a bind and make a visit, I regret it. I've attempted to have my dog groomed here a couple of times and have always been turned away. I make my appointment online, and when the time comes, they either say they are short staffed or they can't find me in the system. I was able to make an appointment once for a quick nail trim, and when I arrived, they said they don't do nail trims unless if it's packaged with a full grooming service. This location is also an Amazon drop off location for returns, yet every time I try to drop something off, they state that their system is down. I would avoid this location at all costs. read more

Not the cleanest Petco. The parking lot and shopping center is a mess. You can't get inside without stepping over trash or someone sleeping on the sidewalk. You can't get back out without being asked for change. I only ever see two people at the registers. I don't think anyone else works in the store. If you need help you have to go to the front to get one of them. Then the line piled up because now there is just one register. I try to avoid it but they have the biggest bags of Scwheat scoop around. Prices are kinda high. read more

This is my local Petco so I go here often just to grab small things. I just adopted a new dog and she is very scared of new people and water however she sheds like crazy and really needs one. Scheduled my appt for today groomer didn't introduce herself and wasn't polite she was an average height white women with blue/green and brown hair she insisted on just walking straight up to my dog instead of letting her smell her and relaxing first. Groomer told me she was gonna take her in the back for at least 5-10 minutes and try to gain a little trust and not even 2 minutes later she came out with my dog half soaked and said she didn't wanna do it because my dog was "slamming herself against the tub" yes my pup is very scared however even when I first brought her home and bathed her she didn't do anything remotely like that and we were brand new to her. Once in the water she is calm so she had to have forced her in and started immediately and didn't have a care in the world about how terrified my dog was. NEVER again. Worst groomer and attitude of anyone in the customer service industry I've ever seen. She's lucky I was as nice as I was. read more

I bought a betta fish here last week on Tuesday- now today being Monday, 6 days later, after struggling with what I quickly found out was a sick/unwell fish he has died. Yesterday I went to pickup a online order. I told the cashier (Luis) that i was there for a pickup. He page the manager for assistance. I'm still waiting for the manager. I have been bringing my dog to this location for about 9 years. Her groomers name is Ro. My dog has anxiety and a lot of health issues which causes for me to be super protective of her. Each time I drop her off she's scared and Ro welcomes her with open arms. We even joke that Ro is my dogs godmother. I am 100% positive that my dog is in safe hands when she's with her. I've been coming to this particular store since 2005 when I adopted my now 13 year old Cockapoo, Cotton. She gets groomed by Roe every 6-8 weeks and these have been besties for years. Have been shopping here for different animals for years. I think the selection is great and the staff is always wonderful. Have bought pretty much everything for my dog here and the staff are always friendly. Have not tried any of their services such as training or grooming yet, but plan to in the future. I have seen other posts complaining about animal care but I often come in at weird times when the animal cages are being cleaned etc, so it appears that their staff does love animals and do their best to care for them. They also host dog adoptions and cat adoptions, which i support. I think the store is typically clean and neat and have never seen unleashed dogs running around, although im sure crazy things happen everywhere sometimes. Point being, love this store, recommend it for everyone and love the discounts my petco pals card gives me. read more

It was listed at under $3 but was not in stock and there was no evidence (shelf sticker) to indicate it ever had been. Disappointing. I needed a specific kind of live insect and called to make sure they had them and that they were still alive. I was assured they were and drove half an hour to discover they were long dead. I read all of these bad reviews and was really surprised. We just got a new puppy one month ago and live less than half a mile away. So far, we have had great experiences, and we are there ALL the time. The customer service has been great. Employees have walked the aisles with me, choosing the best treats, foods, and toys. Before my puppy had his booster lepto vaccine, we went there for him to walk as well. He is also receiving his puppy training classes from Ed, who we love. Omar is very shy and awkward, and Ed is always available and honest with suggestions. Definitely a great local store that doesn't seem like a chain to me. I have two dogs, Isabelle and Willy. On January 4th I made a grooming appointment for Willy for January 6th and Isabelle on the 10th. On January 5th I confirmed it. Shortly thereafter, I received a phone call from Jamie the assistant store manager cancelling my appointment. I asked about rescheduling him for this Friday (7th), she told me she could not do that because she wasn't in grooming and she did not know if they had availability. I asked her several questions - even asked if they could fit Willy into the schedule with Isabelle. She kept arguing with me. I asked to speak to the grooming manager - she wasn't there. Eventually Jamie hung up on me after we had a back and forth about the pandemic, and being shortstaffed. I am very tired of hearing this and I expressed this. To which point, she said "well sure the pandemic is all my fault!" and hung up on me. I called back and asked for the District Manager information. The guy that answered transferred me BACK to Jamie where we had another conversation, I told her if she hung up on me again, I would come to the store and talk to her in person (meaning I would go to the store and TALK to her in person). During this call, she suggested I apply for a grooming position. I suggested she transfer to grooming. We also moved Willy's appointment for the 6th to Isabelle's appointment for the 10th. Today I called and spoke to Carol the grooming manager, who informed me that since it is now a conflict between me and Jamie (her claiming I threatened her), I can't bring my dogs in until its resolved. That's awesome customer service right there. I am still waiting for this district manager to call me. I am very upset, I have been bringing my dogs to PETCO FOR YEARS, I spend a lot of money at this store. I just needed my dogs to be groomed. Note that this is not the first time that they have just been unilaterally cancelled due to this store's lack of staff. read more

Today at 11:00 a.m. my partner was shopping and looking for food for her elderly dog. While shopping she realized that she was being followed around the store by a white male employee which made her so uncomfortable that she had to leave. The guy following her made it very obvious that he was doing so, making it a point to follow her to every aisle and never once asking her if she needed any help (Which she did by the way). Not that doing this to anyone is ever okay, but there is nothing about my friend's demeanor nor actions that would cause any suspicion. She's a yoga teacher and was shopping in yoga clothes with her elderly dog. The only reason he would have to follow her is that she was black. This is disgusting behavior and very disheartening. The first time I brought my new puppy in there after she'd had her shots she pulled a dead mouse in a trap out from under one of the shelves! My friend bought (good?) dog food here that had hatched bugs in it! The place is pathetic and frankly I cannot believe that the corporate office allows such a disgusting operation as this to carry it's corrupt name! Thing is they are not helpful- the young women doing grooming are nice- but not particularly skilled- they can cut nails and trim coats. However given the general condition of the place it's hard to trust the hygiene. It would be somewhat tolerable if it were cheap but that is hardly the case! Admittedly I have to run in here at times for something as I do foster care and am always out of something a darn baby animal bottle almost 6 bucks that is no better than Walmart for 99 cents. Not telling anyone to go to Walmart but this place is absurd. The inventory also leaves much to be desired. STILL! I appreciate that they are showing some animals for adoption and participating in the corporate mandate to support rescue but if you must go to one of these stores- do not come here and expect to leave anything but disgusted and watch what you buy- do NOT let puppies yet to be vaccinated walk on this or any other pet store floor but particularly this one! read more

I was visiting this location on 7/26/19 at 10;30am. I was looking for a new leash and harness for my tea cup terrier. I found the harness but I couldn't find the type of leash that you place your wrist in. I asked the sales representative Agnes who did not have knowledge of this type of leash. Telling me she worked there for 20 years when I asked for another sales representative to explain what I was searching for. Then she proceeds to tell me to go back to where I purchased my last one. Of course, as a dog owner, I'm not bothered by the limited selection of cat items. As this is not my "go to" place for dog food,the samples/freebies I've received have been okay. The staff have been helpful & the manager goes out of his way to accommodate customers. DO NOT BUY ANY PETS FROM THIS PETCO LOCATION. They sell sick pets. We purchased a Guinea pig last year from the here. Unknown to us Petco sold us a sick piggie. We took her to the Vet and was told she had mange which caused seizures and then she scratched her eye so bad that she popped it. Sadly, this morning we had to put her down.
