It's at the top of best foods so it's a bit pricey. It's worth it because he is strong and has a nice smooth coat! They are very friendly there and also helpful! Took our Frenchie in to have her nails clipped. The young gal took her into a very noisy room. When I returned from grabbing a couple cans of dog food, She appeared to be struggling. Then she jogs out of the room, leaving my very expensive girl on the table ALONE with two overly tight contraptions on her neck. The girl comes back with a young man, then she tells me she can't do the front feet and would I unhook her. I could barely get her unhooked as it was far too tight. No charge. If Diva would have wriggled off the table she would have been hanging there. It took me hours to calm her down. I called to complain about the horrible treatment of Diva and requested calls from the Store Manager and whoever was in charge of the groomers. No one called. Calling corporate NEXT. read more

First off they left 3 pallets of merchandise on the floor which made it hard to get around. I needed a harness for my dog and they had only a few not much to select from except the cheaper/ thinner ones that hurt the dog skin I did manage to find a blue green one the same one I was looking for but just needed the Pink I did buy it. I do not care for the music it was extremely loud. They had a few nice and one Hamster They had a few species of fish mostly the goldfish family. And Parakeet birds. There was one Associate-on the floor she never acknowledged me or asked if I needed help. The gentleman at the register could of been more friendly I don't think he was very happy. ago The manager who deals with the fish is really stupid doesn't know anything about fish and some how won't sell you anything if she doesn't agree tried to buy ghost shrimp to feed my large saltwater tank (which is very normal ) she said they are pets and not food and refused to sell me shrimp don't know why I even went back but .... instead of selling fish she would rather just kill them all with her horrible fish keeping skills..... read more

Do not waste your time here they will lie to you and say that they can not cut your dogs nails. They told me my dog was snipping at them so they wouldn't do his nails I took him down to the vet and they did them no problem within 10 minutes do not waste your money here at the groomer. read more

Awful pet store, so understaffed and inventory not accurately reflected on website. Items showed in stock in the local store so I headed out to shop in person. Aisles are blocked with half unpacked items, store in disarray. Items I were looking for are no where to be found, the ONE employee I could find to try and ask a question literally ran past me saying "sorry can't help". Okay then. Note taken - went to Tractor Supply where I literally found everything and super helpful employees. Save yourself the trip, the awful parking lot and just shop elsewhere. read more

AMAZING staff!!!!!! I received the most Wonderful customer service experience I ever experienced and am so very grateful to the incredible generous staff and care towards me. I discovered that I unknowingly overspent my budget with my debit card and the employee named Morgan surprised me with the unexpected charity of purchasing the item for me!!!!!! Grooming is a bit expensive compared to other facilities but they do a very good job.

Customer service sucks!!!! Waited 25 minutes for help in the fish department and no one ever showed up to help !!!

Don't even bother looking into getting your precious pet groomed at Petco. Rude employees and you practically must have the most perfect pet in order for them to even consider you. Go to Ashley's Dog and Cat grooming, it's located on Bird. It's in a beautiful house and done upstairs in a clean, pet friendly place. She groomed my three Yorkies within two hours, just unheard of! She doesn't put them in a cage at all, I found them walking around and so relaxed. To top it off, her prices are very reasonable! read more

This place is ridiculous!!!! This lady!! Oh my god! I wish I got her name. She would not let me buy 2 gold fish because my tank wasn't big enough! I have never heard of that before. My tank is more than half of the size they put their gold fishes in. I was soo upset! I have never ever had anybody at petco refuse to give me 2 gold fish. read more

I'm really surprised this store doesn't have 5 stars. I've been taking my dogs here to get groomed any time I am in Oroville and am always happy with the service. The employees are more than helpful, great prices compared to PetSmart, and they are so sweet to my dogs. read more

The grooming department at this store is horrible. The staff is not helpful, negative and not friendly. I've gone in 4 times and each time the results were bad. They won't do as requested or any easy walk in appointment's without a Jake of some sort. I recommend driving to Chico and go to PetSmart where they are super friendly, well staffed and compassionate! read more

Store is very poorly managed.. Ive had a "manager" stand at the end of an aisle and glare at me while I have shopped. Never offered to help find anything. Just glare. I have been in the store with friends who have wanted to purchase a hamster, and everybody seemed so put out to unlock the cage, so that she could pick one out. Don't have a variety of collars. Hamsters I saw one was fighting the other . I let one of the employees know and all he did was laugh in my face and take hamster out and put in box who knows what happened to her. I felt so bad she was all scratched up from the other hamster and they didn't even care for her safety. I also see the cats never given attention to and boxes dirty they stink horribly. Food is expensive for them too. I also got a ten percent coupon in a email from them and they didn't want to use and once did they gave me a bad attitude. I normally take my Pug to this place and he sees Shyanne (who is wonderful...my Pug loves her). Yesterday Shyanne had an appointment so she set us up with Alia...i don't know if my Pug saw her or not but I got a call my Pug was ready. I paid the Bill and left a generous tip. My baby was wet not dried. The gentleman that checked us in also checked us out ..i never met Alia and I didn't get a report card. I got home with my shampoo and water that I take for my Pug and it was covered with gray and white hair (my Pug is black so this was not his hair). Gross...i will only take my Pug back with Shyanne. read more

My two chihuahuas love going to see Kim and the staff at OROVILLE Petco. They know how to make the dogs and me comfortable with the experience and are very good dog people and groomers. I recommend your fur babies needs be met at Petco. read more

I wish I could give less stars, I've never felt the need to complain about a business before until now, I just received a cease and desist letter from this store when all I've ever done is look at the animals and check on my job application, I was kicked out of their store without being given reason why, and today I received this letter banning me from the store, I have birds I need to feed and now I assume I'm going to have to try to buy seed online for them, I hope this store is shut down for the way I was treated. I've also called their corporate office to complain about burns on the parakeets tail feathers, and one bird I got from thems beak was cracked all the way into it's cere, I've told them about dead fish in their tanks, and they just said ya they know, only to come in 2 days later and see the same dead fish in the tanks. I've seen blood on the box when they are putting away the parakeets to clean their cage, and their is crickets all over the floors from sloppy feeding. read more

This pet store has poor management every time I've been in there almost all of the freshwater fish tanks have been infected. The first two times I brought it to the manager's attention and showed him the diseased fish in each of the tanks, he said he would quarantine them and treat the tanks. I came back the next day and none of the tanks had been quarantined. A week later I returned and the tanks were still infected and there were still no quarantine signs so I brought it to the manager's attention again. This time the response had a rude tone with a very short "ok" response. I then made it a point to return every two weeks just to check out the fish and every single time the freshwater fish were diseased. In addition, the majority of their live plants in packaging are moldy, slimy, and dead and they don't remove them from the shelf. This is the only portion of the store I can comment on however, if the rest of the store is managed like this area ....BEWARE! read more

They have plenty of variety of supplies and animals, however, the store doesn't seem well managed. In particular, the aquariums are consistently neglected. I have come to the store numerous times in the past few months hoping to buy some fish. I always leave without any because most of the tanks have dead or dying fish in them. Some tanks at last visit had 3 or 4 dead fish each! And others have multiple fish shimmying listlessly. What really griped me this last time was that as I was looking over the tanks and some other customers were being helped by an employee, a second employee brushed by me with an 'excuse me.' ZERO EFFORT to ask if I were being helped! Who trains these people? They don't remove carcasses often enough, and can't be bothered to offer assistance. What's odd is that when I only go looking at supplies and don't need help (because I can read) someone in the past has usually homed in on me to offer help, although the employee doesn't have all that much knowledge of the supplies in question. I had a bad experience here a few years ago. The manager of the grooming dept. Kim was extremely rude. I made a report and the store manager said it would be addressed so I continued to take my dogs there. I took my dogs in yesterday and the groomers had left due to a personal emergency. No signs or anything to let customers know. After waiting for awhile, I went out and asked if anyone was working in the grooming dept and was told they had left for the day. I sent my dogs back down today. The grooming services are worthless, they're afraid to trim the dogs nails short for fear of causing them to bleed. One dog got his nails trimmed and buffed, they're still too long and don't look buffed. I have a nipper and they will not put a mussel on her. So her nails did not get trimmed. The veterinarian has no objections to having me put a mussel on her. Even nippers need their nails trimmed. The veterinarian staff cut them short and it doesn't cost much more. I will be taking my dogs elsewhere. My granddaughter complains about how dirty the animal's cages are. This place has gone downhill in the past few years. read more

Rob in the store had more knowledge then most. Very impressive. Came in for mosquito fish for a pond and new dog collars for the pups. He told me where to get the fish that would work and not die in a few days. Then the wife went shopping for tags collars and more. Every company needs people like this. Iv been a cowboy rancher and farmer over the past 25 years. Hes got a great history in feed supply and knows more then most. And said he likes his job! Rare thing nowadays. read more
