I am the only one here training Yorkshire Terriers and one of a few men bringing their dogs to classes. My rescue Jax is now registered with me as a Therapy Team with Pet Partners. We're doing visits with other teams at a memory care facility. Soon we will be doing visits at a summer class for special needs children. My long term goal is to be able to visit children in hospitals and shelters. Jax just melts into the arms of a child. Dog training is about training the owner to better communicate with their dog. I am amazed at what I've learned in the past year. Jax has came a long ways too, not to mention his little brother Stud Muffin. I brought my 1-year-old dog in for a grooming appointment, and he left the salon with his scrotum mutilated by incompetent groomers who somehow thought it was necessary to use a blade on such a sensitive area. On top of that, they must have been wearing blindfolds while grooming him because he came back looking like a 3-year-old got ahold of him with a pair of scissors. The haircut was absolutely butchered. When I first called to voice my concerns, the store leader, Carol, told me to take my dog to the vet and that they would cover the cost. Mind you, she didn't even have the decency to offer me a full refund. If you injure a pet badly enough that they need to see a VET, a refund should be automatic. Instead, I spent the next two nights listening to my dog cry in pain because of what they did to him. Then I got to spend the next two days playing phone tag with the incompetent store manager, Carol, and her other leaders, Skii and Samantha. Both Skii and Samantha refused to offer me a refund, claiming they had a "process." Neither of them showed an ounce of empathy toward me or my dog. Not once did they apologize or take any ownership of the situation. They simply kept telling me that only Carol could approve a refund and promised she would call me the next day. Well, today came, and by 5:00 p.m., Carol still had NOT called. She's a lazy, incompetent, poor excuse for a manager. I had to call her. The moment she heard my phone announce that the call was being recorded, she suddenly stopped talking and immediately offered to refund my card. Funny how that works. Even then, she still didn't apologize. She didn't take accountability. She didn't show a shred of empathy. If you can't be a decent human being, you have absolutely no business working with animals. I will never return to this location--or to any PetSmart. They don't care about your pets. They care about making a quick buck, and my dog's injury is proof of how little they value the animals placed in their care.

I have never seen a person be able to communicate with a dog like Allison does. She is extremely knowledgeable about everything canine and can read a dog's behavior like second-nature. She can identify your dog's behavioral problems/anxieties/issues without hesitation because she is that well-versed in dog psychology. From the moment that I brought Luna home, she would go into a down position anytime a car would pass by during our walks. At first, I thought this was a quirky puppy behavior that she'd eventually grow out of but as she grew older and the behavior became worse, I feared there was something larger at play. Allison was recommended to me by a neighbor, who observed me struggling with Luna. Unbeknownst to me, my neighbor's dog had similar issues with wanting to chase moving things. I was so impressed by how well-behaved my neighbor's dog was that I couldn't believe that the dog had any behavioral problems to begin with. I called Allison immediately after my neighbor gave me her contact information. If it wasn't for Allison, I would've never known that Luna's prey drive was out of whack and this was something that needed to be corrected immediately. She also explained in-depth the psychology behind why Luna was behaving this way, which really helped me better understand how to communicate with my puppy. Communication is KEY in training and I've never met anyone who can communicate with a dog as well as Allison does. I was terrified to walk Luna but within just five times meeting, she has already made extremely great progress. Her confidence builds every day and Allison is to thank for that. Luna now listens effortlessly to any command, mind you she is only 25-weeks old.
