I have usually had very good service at Petco and took advantage of their Petco rewards etc. I tried their Vet clinic for my new cat. After my first visit the suggested I pay for a fecal lab test so so I had to do was drop off the sample. Great! I had scheduling difficulties, illnesses and had to cancel a scheduled appointment for to the vet bring ill. During this time I decided to just take my cat to my regular vet. I caked Petco for a refund. The told me they would have to submit a request for a refund and they would let me know. I received a call from the Lincoln office manager, who informed me that she would have to submit a request but she didn't think they would approve the refund. I was not happy and told her I wasn't asking permission for a refund I was telling them I wanted my money back. She then told me that in order to get the refund I would have to show up in person with my ORIGINAL receipt. She was not kind on how she spoke to me. And I said I don't think I have it, just could she at least submit the request. I also said that they never told me when I prepaid that I might not get a refund. They have everything in the computer so why do I need a receipt? She then told me that I should have read the refund policy on the bottom of the receipt I'm so glad that I found out how corporate this place is... I made a terrible mistake thinking they actually cared about my pet. I don't believe they do...I think it's just another was for a big corporation to make money in disguise of pet care. They got my money so I will take my cats stool sample in and that will be the last dollar Petco ever gets out of me. I will not even buy dog and cat food from them anymore. read more

I have mixed feelings about this Petco. I recently got into the betta keeping hobby, and have been here a few times now to collect supplies when I need them right then and there. The biggest pro I can find is that most of the employees I've interacted with have been incredibly polite and helpful. In my most recent visit I was back in the fish area for a while and an employee walked by me a few times but never said anything, no hello or could they help me find anything. However, like I mentioned, all the other employees have been friendly and courteous. The downside to this location is that it seems like the bare minimum is done to upkeep the aquarium area. (I can't comment on other pet sections being as I don't shop in them or use them.) Every time I go in I like to stop and see the bettas, and have even purchased one here. There are quite a few that are obviously dead, and have been sitting in the display for a while since I've seen the display change when they moved moss balls to show new baby bettas. However, I do like the selection of bettas they do have, and felt more confident buying one here than at supermarket fish sections. Another time I went in to purchase a snail and the employee asked if I knew which one I wanted because most of them were dead. I don't understand then why the dead ones would be kept in the tank, littering the gravel bottom. The saltwater tanks were dirty and empty, and there was still stock being left in the aisles. The live plant section also had stock that was clearly dried up and dead. I understand that a lot of live things might not have a long shelf life, but they should be removed once it's obvious they're not with us anymore. This location needs more employees per shift. I've had to walk around the store for a few minutes just trying to find someone, going so far to ask another customer if they've seen an employee walking around to help me get a fish, and even then they were running around everywhere trying to help multiple people at once. They also only let managers help when picking up online orders, meaning you might have to wait while one has a spare moment to help. Each time I've come in there's only been one cashier working. I feel that there'd be less disorganization and uncleanliness if more employees were present. The prices are for the most part reasonable, though it's always a good idea to go online and order to pick up in the store since I have noticed the prices tend to be a bit lower online. I'll probably keep coming here since it is the closest pet store, but I do hope improvements are made to not only the live animal sections, but to getting the store more employees to lighten the load for the ones already there. read more

I have brought my 4 1/2 month labradoodle here twice now for grooming. They do a great job with her and she has looked great both times! I love that they give you a report card at the end of the session. Prices are great also. read more

They always remember our dog and he is as happy as can be when he visits. We received excellent advice on dog ownership, even before we officially picked him up for the first time. Tish made sure we had the essentials and even gave us a new puppy ownership booklet with coupons. Brady and Shane are exceptional dog trainers. I highly recommend the dog classes at this location! Worst customer service ever. My husband called Petco a day in advance to see if Petco had received certain canned cat food. I wear a very obvious big leg brace and it is very difficult for me to walk. They had the food and they said they would hold a case for us. I went in to pick it up the next day. It wasn't held for us to pick up. Rude unhelpful cashier girl asked stupid tall brown haired young man to bring it up front for me. He brought up 2 different bags of dog food. What? I explained I needed CANNED CAT FOOD and he walked to the back of the store and simply disappeared instead of helping me find the right food. I had to lug a case of canned food up from the back of the store on my own with zero help from anyone. Rude cashier checked me out; never apologized for multiple instances of complete inefficiency. No help from anyone. I will NEVER return to this place again. Service sucks big time. You have been warned. read more

My dog always enjoys getting groomed at Petco! We will keep going back. They are always good for him

Last week I took our 10 month old puppy in to be washed and groomed. This was our 4th trip to this Petco location. My appointment was 10:30am and when we arrived we were greeted by three employees I had never met. They were helpful and looked up our dog's file, confirming the things our family preferred during grooming. At 3:45pm I was called to come in a pick him up. I was handed a bill for full grooming. $50. At the same time I was told he had not had his nails trimmed because he bit the groomer. After we were at home we discovered that although the dog's hair had been cut and he smelled good, he still had poo under his tail and dog food from breakfast in the fur around his mouth. So I returned to the store and asked for a refund. The store manager said no, they have the right to deny refund if a dog bites. Our puppy has never bitten anyone. He just likes to chew. I spoke to the groomer and insisted on a refund and was granted one. WARNING: For those that have puppies that need grooming: be SURE the groomer is used to working with wiggly puppies. Be SURE the pups will not be caged for more than 5 hours without going to the bathroom and then be expected to sit perfectly still. Be SURE you inspect your pup before paying the bill. read more

I came in with my puppy, Gracie and was looking for different types of harnesses that could keep her from pulling while on walks. Two workers, Taylor and Haley were especially helpful in recommending different types and trying the different sizes on Gracie! They also let me walk around with her while in the store to try it out and see how well it worked. They were very kind and patient, even with my crazy puppy licking their faces! Great service and a great pet store! They also assured me that if it didn't work out for us when we tried it out later at home, that we could bring it back with the receipt for a refund. read more

This is a nice clean store that carries primarily higher end pet products. The only complaint I have is that my wife went in to buy 5 or 6 neon tetra fish and ran into an overly zealous employee of the store. The store lady asked about how long we had the water prepared at home for these fish. It needed to be treated and then 24 hours later they could sell the fish. My wife said that we would fill the tank when we got the fish home. The lady refused to sell the fish on grounds of animal cruelty. In the end my wife bought the tetras at Wal Mart down the highway. It's been over 2 years and none of them have died, which is more than I can say for the floaters in the tank at Petco. My wife didn't blow up at the employee but they did go back and forth about the whole thing. That's when the discussion became one way..." we in here talking about a little fish. I mean, listen, we're talking about a tiny fish, not a dog, not a cat, not a horse, we talking about fish. Not a monkey. It's a fish! I mean, how silly is that? ... I know it's important, I do.
