Finally got our dog in for bath, haircut, new-dog smell spritz. Took two tries. On second one, the double booked appts and we got moved back a week. She was a furry mess by the time it became her turn. In spite of this run-a-rounds and postponements when she finally got in for her appointment Petco treated her well and came through with a good out come and grooming experience. I have a 12 lb emotional support dog,that after seven hours or waiting is still not groomed.

Think twice before you consider shopping at this Petco. We used to shop here all the time. It's just like every pet store with dog, cat, bird, fish, and the list goes on items in a fluorescent lit, merchandised corporate big box type store. Most of the time the staff is pleasant and the store is clean. Their rewards program used to be very lame and it really didn't give any rewards for our large purchases; however, that program could be different now and I wouldn't know because I avoid this store. Why you ask? Well, a couple of years ago we had bought packages of dehydrated chicken breasts for our doodles. At the time, we had no idea to check for country of origin or that it mattered. Sadly, one of our pets got into one of the packages of chicken breasts and ate a bunch of them. Within three to four days this pet was dead. We spent thousands trying to save her. Our vet confirmed these chicken treats were toxic and they were killing innocent animals. Our little girls suffering and symptoms were just like an epidemic of recent pet deaths after consuming made in China items. Indeed, we rushed to Petco to inform them how dangerous these chicken treats were and to please remove them. We were horrified and outraged with their response to us. They gave us their contact information to their legal department and did nothing further. They looked at us like sucks to be you. We pleaded with them to remove the tainted, made in China chicken breasts that we knew killed our dog but they wouldn't. These packages were around 20 dollars and we saw a solid shelf full of them. At the time we were mourning the loss of our darling little girl and had very little fight in us so we left there panicked for any other family to have happen to them what happened to us. I slept on it all night, worried about any pet that got those treats. The next day we returned, hopeful they had pulled the treats. We were Horrified the minute we walked into the store to find the treats on the corner of the aisles, right in front and now on sale! Can you imagine, they knew it killed our pet and they put it on sale! Luckily, it was around 80% off so we purchased over one hundred dollars worth of them and burned them all at our home to ensure they didn't even get eaten by wild animals. We couldn't leave the store knowing there were any left for someone else to endure what we endured. This experience made me question corporate run stores in general. I can say we were on to something as all these pet stores have agreed to pull all Made in China food by July 2015 so maybe they can discount it all? It still makes my heart ache thinking about the decision this store made to keep those bags on the shelves despite us begging them to remove them. Now, does this corporation care about our pets? Does it care about anything but our money? You decide. read more

This place deserves your business. Last week during the horrible Sand Fire, animals that had to be evacuated were sheltered at the fair grounds, and they were there immediately with food for them. Yes it's a chain, but the service and special attention we've gotten there, and their demonstrated community spirit makes it the go to place for all our pet needs in this family, which is quite a few pets. read more

This place is great for basic dog grooming but DO NOT take any animal here that's needs a specialty cut. They are great with my mutts but absolutely destroyed my purebred. The mutts go back to get cleaned and brushed. The purebred is still trying to recover from what they did to him 6 months ago. read more

I come in once a week just to get a mouse and I have to wait at least 15 minutes because nobody wants to take the time to walk to the front and help customers. While the cashier is always up front alone and cannot leave their stand. I find it ridiculous that it always takes so long read more

Was sold a severely injured iguana. When I asked what was wrong I was told it was just a shedding problem when in fact it ended up being sever burns. After treating him as much as I could it still ended up with an infection and needed vet care. When I told them I purchased him that way they called me a liar. Luckily I took pics of his injuries the day I brought him home and they were date and time stamped. While part of their policy to treat is to repurchase the animal , which I understand, my issue was not the policy but the customer service or lack there of I received anytime I had a question about the iguana. Initially it was the animal care manager Kim who treated me like garbage and was beyond rude multiple times, then later the store leader Dana. Corporate got involved and after 4-5 weeks of hell to my surprise I actually got the iguana back. I was then charged 10 dollars more because within that 4-5 week period he was being treated they raised there prices. So on top of terrible customer service I was then charged more. I will never go back to a petco in my entire life and I encourage everyone to shop elsewhere. Although they may be slightly qualified to show you where an item might be for ladies their age they lack any sense of customer service or care when there's a real issue. I called in to see if they had Urinary Gold for dogs. Once I got to the representative I told him what I was looking for. The first question what does it do? Serious? First word Urinary, sounds like urine....pee. Whatever I will get it on Amazon. Also when looking for this product on the Petco website, it pulled up Merrick Purrfect Bistro Grain Free Savory Trout Dinner Wet Cat Food, 5.5 oz., Case of 24. This Petco in Jackson is great. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. The main reason we love this Petco is Trainer Josh. I can not say enough good things about this guy. The dogs all love him and of course the owners do also. We started with the puppy play time on Saturday afternoons. Seeing how Josh interacted with the puppies lead to us signing up for puppy classes for our newest addition to the family, another mini aussie. Our little guy has just finished puppy class 1 and we will be moving on to puppy class 2. Looking forward to learning more from Josh as our puppy grows. Thanks for being amazing Josh read more

This is the 2nd time we have used Petco for our 12 year old Golden Retriever. First visit went well, though we had to wait a couple of weeks to get an appointment and it was in late afternoon. For the second visit I made an appointment 3 weeks in advance to get a morning appointment (10:30). Our "elder" dog was at Petco for over 4 hours before we were notified that he was ready for pickup. This was way too long a time for a standard bath - no extra services. Not sure I will use Petco again. read more

Walked in and literally crickets were chirping until some hipster wannabe walked by and partially acknowledged my presence. He had time to hang out with his friends but could only bother to page someone to help me in the fish department. Cool dude. ....not! So I stood around watching some other "to cool for work" guy play around with a bird on his shoulder while I waited for some assistance. ......still waiting. .......chirp chirp.......nothing! Everyone is always so friendly and they actually care about your pets and the animals they sale!

I went into this place to purchase a guinea pig and the employee was careless about holding the pig right and drops the pig onto its back. I brought the pig home thinking it would be ok but I had to bring it back. As a loving guinea pig owner I cared about its needs. The employee from day before acted as if it was wrong to bring him back and said they didn't feel anything on his back but they would observe him and call me back. Never heard anything back. I go back in there to check on the pig and I got treated like I was a bad guinea pig owner and was lectured and mentally abused for 30 minutes!! What I am bad for caring about a guinea pig and bringing him back? I didn't drop him!! I have loved these animals for 16 years or more I know everything about them no lecture needed.I will not be returning to a place who treats there customers like crap and r so abusive. read more

I've been taking my dog here for basic grooming (wash/dry/nails) for the past year on a semi monthly basis. Every single person who works in the grooming department has been professional, personable, and friendly. My dog always is happy and fluffy and looks great after each session. I'm very pleased with their services. read more
