They aren't sanitizing the grooming area after each customer like they state over the phone. Dog drool all over the floor, disgusting and unsanitary especially during this COVID pandemic. read more

The lady working there isn't friendly when we asked if there's a restroom then when we asked if there's any guineas pigs she responded like if she don't care to answer politely even get stare. read more

They have pretty healthy fish in stock compared to the petsmart down the shopping center.

The grooming department sucks, THEY NEVER ANSWER! I'll go to a groomer that I know I can get ahold of, I'm so frustrated I just will be going to PetSmart because it's annoying. Plus a few weeks ago I was getting my first beta fish and was asking for help NOBODY was willing to help me just pointed me in the beta fish aisle, so I had to guess on what I needed. This place is soooo annoying from grooming to shopping none of its good. ‍ read more

This Petco had me running around in circles. Rarely do I ever come here and they still disappoint. I spoke on the phone with an employee stating I can come and get my cat looked at by their vet. As I went inside they told me to stand in line and they will take care of me. After waiting in line for over 20 min they tell me they can't help me. PETCO, TRAIN YOUR EMPLOYEES. You'rewasting customer time and gas. read more

I love the layout of this store! Clean and of course pet friendly - they have stations located throughout the store just in case your pet makes a mess ;) I love the cookie/treat section they've got that's charged on a weight scale. Really cool to bring your baby and let them (sort of) choose what kind of treat they want, then you can fill a baggy with their favorites. Like most other pet-specific stores, the prices here are a little high. read more

I love this store. I take my puppy Kellee there to be groomed and washed every other month or so, or as soon as her nails get long. Our favorite groomers there are "Ashley, Michelle, Justin, & Jacob". We trust them a lot with our pet and when Kellee's done, she looks so pretty and so sleek. We love how they cut her hair and wash her, they are very gentle and honest with their prices and very understanding of how the customer wants for their pet. They are also very courteous, understanding, sympathetic, loving (as a way they care for the dogs they see everyday), and they handle the puppies/dogs very well. Also, there are two people there on the floor that I talk to sometimes regarding puppy food and/or dog food types. Debbie & Nancy, are the two most patient ladies that me and my partner have met at Petco in Hemet. They both have the knowledge and know how of what is at the store and if they are good and great for my puppy & dog. We will go to Nancy for training for our 11 week old puppy "Megan" once she gets her full shots, and our 1 year, 1 month old dog "Kellee". I think everybody here at this Petco in Hemet are the greatest people we have ever met in a Pet Store. We go to Petco cause we're Petco customers 100%. The employees here are so nice and understanding and patient with questions that are given to them on a daily basis. I think everybody who lives in Hemet, San Jacinto, should go to this store. read more

I don't know where to begin... Horrible customer service...and when I mean horrible...I honestly mean HORRIBLE. I had to literally google my own answers on my phone because the staff didn't know what they were talking about. Up-selling. Ok, I get it. You want to get those extra points for the most things purchased by a customer...but when you literally start talking about "this and that" and have no idea what you're really talking about...ugh....ticks people off. I went into Petco a few weeks ago for our new turtle. Sadly, customer service and severe lack of knowledge about turtles led us to go down the street to Petsmart who welcomed us and answered every single question I had regarding our new pet. Heck, I even asked for recommendations for our other animals (cats and dogs) and not only was I helped in a very professional, friendly manner-the young lady walked around the store with me helping me pick out the BEST options for my pets...not just the ones she was TOLD she had to sell. Petco lost a life long customer to Petsmart. read more

Rita and Ashley are the best. My dog Angel comes home so happy and clean and smelling great!!!

We had two dogs and they only had one sink. They were short on towels and when I asked about a bib or apron, she wanted to hand me a small packaged piece of plastic. Not a great experience compared to other locations where we can wash the dogs side-by-side and get it done twice as fast. They should also have standard aprons for us to put on considering how wet I got. Not a good situation at all. read more

I found Petco today after visiting the PetSmart that lies 0.1 mile away...literally...one building away. PetSmart looks good on the outside and the inside, but, it does not carry the one and only brand of treat my picky senior cat eats (Pet Naturals of Vermont, Hip/Joint treat with Glucosamine, MSM, & Chondroitin, specifically). BUT THE DAY IS SAVED!!! Petco sells the entire line of Pet Naturals for felines. Whew!!! That was a close one. I, and my little boy, thanks you, Petco! Plus, this particular location is having it's grand opening this weekend--it's just opened. COME SEE!! read more

I used Petco grooming facility and was very impressed with the way the groomer handled my girl. She wasn't forceful but was able to get her to walk to the groomer area for her bath and nails. After wards my girl was so calm waiting for me. I was so happy. My girl is a Pitty and a lot of people thinks she aggressive cuz of her deep bark but she is a loving girl. I already set my next appointment. read more

Our grooming appointments were canceled.. The first appointment was canceled that day it was scheduled but they did give us another appointment a week later which was weird but we took it. Then they called us this morning to again to cancel our appointment today with no reason and no other date but to try again in a couple of weeks! We said no thank you and now we will be looking for somewhere new to take her. Very disappointed we had to reschedule appointments for this. read more

I took my dog to the grooming center and when they called me to pick him up after 2 and a half hours they gave me him back wet. He's a tiny little puppy and I wanted him to be to get a good blow dry and be fluffy that was the point of taking him . Won't return read more

Great service cashier's were extremely helpful and courteous helped my son with his new adopted dog. Good place for your pet supplys located next to smart and final. A little difficult to see from street. read more

We took our dog to get vaccinated. On the second visit, we realized we forgot the documentation and they needed the information to proceed. I went to the grooming center and Ashley called Vetco and obtained the information for us. She went above and beyond her job description and we really appreciate all her efforts. If all employees assisted their guests as Ashley assisted us, they'd have 5 stars for their store. Thank you for providing such great customer service Ashley. read more

They have a nice layout of fish tanks, but horrible customer service!!!! The store was empty, it was just my family and the workers and nobody came to greet us. Than when we ask for assistance on buy fish the two employees that were having a conversation looked at me like they were annoyed. I will never go back to this store. PetSmart is cheaper and has better customer service. read more

Petco in Hemet, their staff was AMAZING and helpful. They were caring with my needs. Helped me handle a huge bullmastiff puppy, I'm fostering. Couldn't have done it without their help. It wasn't just one staff member. About four helped me, guided me, and spent time with me & pup. Forever grateful to Petco Hemet staff! Thank you!! read more

Bring my pup to their grooming salon. I always forget her name but she's here every time I bring him in. She's super cool and knows exactly what my dog likes. Their prices are pretty normal. They have pet adoptions on Saturday mornings and their store is pretty big and has decent items. Of course, it's pricey. Love the treat stations!! read more

I just got a 2 month old puppy, and it's my first time with a puppy. I went to Petco to stock up on the things I need. When I got there I had lots of questions, but no one was on the floor. I couldn't find staff anywhere! Finally I went up to the cashiers area and let them know I had a question. They just kind of stared at me, so I told them I want to buy a good dog food but on a budget. The employee responded with "Well I like the expensive stuff sooo". He listed the brands he liked-all the most expensive brands- but didn't answer my question. I just walked to the dog food section and randomly picked a brand instead because no one helped. I returned the next day to look for the grassy doggy pad, and once again there were no staff on the floor. I had to call for a manager. They didn't have the item we were looking for so we went to Petsmart. They were super helpful and accessible, plus they have a much much larger selection. Definitely recommend Petsmart over this place to anyone. read more

I think I'm floored that Petco has low stars but it does. Well, I walked in and the cashier had her mask down on her chin, not covering her face. Idk. Perhaps I need to use that curbside now if the staff isn't going to practice the order in place. Also, perhaps the only store I've been to with covid that has no plexiglass and they don't sanitize anything. I noticed about four employees--the maskless cashier, two girls talking up front by the crickets and one other girl carry stock who asked if we needed anything. (Thank you and she had her mask on). But I didn't see anyone sanitizing the counters or any bottles of sanitizer. I do note a good review for another place in town that I'll try next time on esplanade across from valley wide. read more

Service and employees nice, and helpful. Store is clean, dog clothing selection weak, but the competition in this category is strong.

Warning to Hemet Petco online customers. Always ask for paper receipt if making online purchase. Bought a Petsafe bark collar couple months ago. Once unboxed several weeks later, darn thing didn't work. Petsafe sent 2 replacement batteries and still refused stay lit. Took item back to Hemet Petco for refund or exchange and couldn't without email receipt, which I never got. Associate didn't ask for rewards card which made it more complicated, no record of purchase. Store sent several reminder emails that item was ready for pick up. You'd think store would have email on record. Email receipt just a ploy to prevent returns. Always ask for paper receipt for easy refund or exchange. read more

I just love the groomers, especially Rita!! I get great service n perfect grooming. Tysvm

Come here regularly as my dog will only eat a specific dog cookie from the cookie bar :)

Ella Mae came home looking and smelling terrific. She was happy and bouncing around - she knew she looked hugs!

I have the cutest doberman. (I am biased though...) She just turned one and is still in puppy play mode. She is my only "child", and so her interactions are limited with other humans and dogs. (I am not writing this to get feedback that she needs more socialization than just me, I know that. :) I am just writing this, so as a reader, you know where I am coming from.) She is so loveable, and so excited every time she goes to the groomer at this Petco. They are truly the best and friendliest staff. They don't make me feel like a bad pet owner for having a dog that is so excited to see everybody. And they treat my doberman with so much kindness and patience and smiles every time. I would like to particularly point out the groomer Justin. My Emily loves him so much! and he always makes a special point to do her grooming. This is truly the best staff! read more

Went looking for a harness for puppy, they didn't have a wide selection but we got the blue Gooby harness, fits really good and he seems to not mind it at all. $20 it was worth it. The girl that helped us was nice. I like Petco over Petsmart, not really sure why, but I do. read more

Rita is a very good groomer with my regular groomer on maternity leave Rita did a very good job on my Sophia.

I had taken my dog there to be groomed and she got kennel cough. I spoke to the manager about it and filed a claim with the company. The manager was very unprofessional and spoke like a thug. I complained to Petco headquarters and had to deal with a representative who barely spoke English. I asked the company to at minimum refund the cost of the grooming however they refused. I provided the store and headquarters with documentation from my veterinarian along with the bill and total cost incurred as a result of their poor grooming sanitation which resulted in me having to treat my dog for kennel cough as well as vaccinate my other 5 other dogs. My $60 grooming ended up costing me a few hundred dollars in vet bills. The least Petco could have done was refund the cost of the grooming. I believe as a business it would have been the right thing to do. I would never ever have my pet groomed at Petco, especially this one. Petco as a company should be ashamed at how they treat their customers. One great thing about this country is I have the option to choose where I shop and I will never shop at a Petco store again. read more

10/06/2016 @ 4:42PM 1140 04 4 03660 Sales Associate: 10 Nancy When I arrived with my family today, I asked Nancy who was the cashier for some assistance while she was training a new associate for 12 Large crickets all female please, the trainee then asked Nancy if she could tell the difference of the two and she rudely responses back saying there is no difference and she doesn't know she then radios for assistance without saying I needed all female crickets, the young lady with no name badge wearing a blue shirt came to help I explained to her that my son's leopard gecko only eats females not the males and that she is a picky eater, instead of laughing and carrying on she decides to argue with the paying customer which is me saying that we are over feeding them, I said no sorry when we feed her all females she eats them all when there are males she refuses and would rather starve I tried in the pass feeding her all males and she almost starved. I just never had such bad service going to any store in all my life like I have been treated at both PetsMart and Petco off Florida Ave. here in Hemet. read more

The only reason i marked 1 star is because you have to give at least one on here! Absolutely horrible store! I went to buy a little orange kitten there and the lady in charge of the adoptions was not there only her phone number. So i called her and she told me to bring $40 the next morning to get the kitten. So i did then her and the staff there threw a hissy fit because i would not buy a cardboard cat carrier from Petco to put him in. I only live around the corner and so was going to carry him home. But since i had only brought enough for the cat and they were insisting on me buying a cat carrier i walked next door to smart and final got a large cardboard box punched holes in it on all four sides for the kitty to breathe came back to the store and said okay i have something to put the cat in. The lady then absolutely refused to sell me the cat saying the cardboard box was not safe enough. It was taped on the bottom and had three holes about the size of a fifty cent piece on each of the four sides but because i would not pay the extra $12 for the petco cat carrier was refused. I thought the point was to get these animals forever homes not earn money. What is the difference between one cardboard box and another other than the petco name being on one. I then went to petsmart got a shelter kitten and guess what a free cardboard cat carrier to put my new kitten in. Never going to petco again. read more

Had the absolute worse experience with the workers. All but one was very helpful (Sam), but the rest was just rude. We had an ill animal and brought them in to be seen via the 30 day return policy. He was obviously very sick and we wanted him to be seen. They kept sending us around the store to "find help" because they were too busy to tend to our dying friend. He ended up dying in the store and they showed no sign of compassion. They didn't honor the 30 day policy and completely shut us down. Eventually, we got a refund and left the store broken hearted and frustrated. NEVER going back. read more
