I'm so disappointed in Petco, I purchased 10 ghost shrimp turns out they had bacterial necrosis. So I introduced them to my tank that was established for over 3 months with healthy shrimp and they gave it to all my shrimp. So all my shrimp started to get sick and I traced it back to the ones I bought at Petco. If you are in town go to pet smart the fish lady there knows absolutely everything and she treats all fish before she sales them. I'm devastated I spent a lot of money and there was nothing I could have done for my shrimp. I noticed one was a little white when I got it at Petco but I thought she was going to molt....... i was wrong and it cost my 50 shrimp and my tank. Petco is supposed to be selling healthy animals and healthy fish but I guess they chose money over them. They should have caught the discoloring instead they just sale them as is. The staff seemed uninterested in helping, and when I finally got someone's attention, they barely had any knowledge about the products. I was looking for help choosing food for my pet with allergies, but the employee gave vague suggestions and didn't seem to care at all. On top of that, the store was messy and disorganized. Several shelves were empty, and a few had expired products still sitting out. I expect a pet store to prioritize the health and well-being of animals--this felt more like an afterthought. Grooming appointment. We were told a couple of hours, but actually 4 1/2 hours. All the kennel time stressed our pup out so much that she didn't start playing or eating until the following day. None of our hair cutting requests were followed, Groomer Jasper was rude (making derogatory comments about our pup (he didn't know my husband was around the other side of the wall). Our Pup's nails were not cut and we had to do it when we got home, note two of her nails were curling near her foot pad. Worst Grooming Experience we have ever experienced. Their dog grooming department is the absolute worst. They have disrespectful and rude employees that I believe never want to be there. They have bad attitudes and act like they hate their job. We have been going to Petco locations for 10 years to have our dog groomed. We typically go to Menifee, but due to their availability, we had to book with Hemet. The two times we have been there, they try everything they can to not groom our dog. "He seems to nervous to be groomed" "He is really shaky, we might have to stop and have you pick him up" This last time, the groomer pulled a sticker from his face and he turned his face quickly and yelped. She then told us, she's afraid he will bite so we cannot groom him and he is banned from all Petcos?! 10 years with Petco and now we are banned? We have never had a problem with any other location ranging from San Diego to Riverside. She just doesn't want to work, which is why she was also 10 minutes late opening the store. Petco online promises o. Some items same day delivery. They say order now and it will delivered by 12pm. Here it is 3:30pm no delivery. When I called petco customers service they say it will be delivered by 5pm. I asked why do you advertise by noon, if it is not going to be delivered by then? All the agent on the phone said was door dash was delivering it and sorry. Used to frequent PetSmart for grooming and dog supplies as I liked the store, location and groomer, Charlotte. Over time, grooming charges increased and it became more difficult to get an appointment with Charlotte. I forget PetCo is in the next shopping center. Recently, switched to Merrick's Dog Food and PetSmart does not carry that brand. Usually go to the PetCo Menifee since it's closer to work. Today, used the Self-Dog Wash at the Hemet location. Rita, the groomer, was very helpful as it was my first time. The dog wash is so convenient, especially when you have a large dog. They supply everything, although the shampoo and conditioner is thinned with water. Whatever, they will supply more if you need it. It's $15 a wash and you need to show proof of rabies vaccine. I think it's worth the money. It saved my back, cleaning the tub/floor, washing all the towels and having a wet dog run through the house. read more

Petco sold us a cat post. $163 plus tax. Less than 90 days later, our 12 pound cat jumped onto the top tier and it broke off. The screws weren't holding the post together properly. The one who did the construction, screwed the edge of the top tier onto the center pole piece instead of doing so closer to the middle, This meant, every time a cat jumped onto the top, it made it tilt and bend until it broke. Someone did not know how to properly construct these posts. It is PURE JUNK. The store wouldn't even consider an exchange. Now, they'll live with another horrific review. That's a LOT of money to spend for improper construction. I'll never go into that store again. read more

I'm sorry for the people that think this place is a good place to take your dogs to get groomed. I have come here time and time again to get disappointed every single time. Their saying is "If you're not satisfied get your money back" yeah right they never offer and have to take my dog back a second time and the work is still lazy. I called them for an appointment on December 10 and they said they could get her in the same day so I told the girl on the phone what I wanted because she asked. Then I come in and a different girl asks what I want so I tell her. When I come and get my dog I try to give them a chance again, but when I get home I notice literally nothing was done to her. I come to Petco primarily for fish and fish supplies. I have nothing but good things to say about this location. While many Petco locations have horribly run fish departments full of dirty aquariums and dying fish, this one certainly does not. The aquatics specialist really knows what she is doing here, and their aquariums are kept in great condition. I rarely see any dead or sick fish, and when there are sick fish, they are immediately listed as "not for sale." This is also one of the better Petco locations for saltwater fish and corals. They have a very good selection of saltwater fish, and carry several exotic species not found at other Petco locations. While this location does not have a dedicated frag tank like Temecula does, they still do carry several nice corals. Customer service is very good here. All the employees I've interacted with are quite friendly, eager to assist, and are always smiling. It really seems like they love their jobs. Overall, a great Petco with a wonderful fish selection and friendly staff. read more
