Julianne of Petco groomed our dog MAX yesterday. What a great job she did! He looks great and seems to feel like he looks! His coat is very curly and difficult to work with, as well as being matted. This location is the best for grooming - they have enough staff to accommodate during the busy season (I called Thursday and was able to get an appointment for Sunday during peak season). The groomer, Rachel was very loving with my doggo and I felt he was in excellent hands. She took time to chat with me prior to regarding what he needed and what I wanted done. I will try to book exclusively with her moving forward. The cut came out great, couldn't be more pleased. Best experience with Petco grooming to date. read more

I stopped into the Hampton Bays, NY store on March 16 to pick up dog treats. Visited the Ladies Room, 10:30 am. Walked right out of what was a toxic, filthy mess. The store opened at 9 am, so obviously it hadn't been cleaned from the day before. Guess the store doesn't follow any Covid Protocol where the restrooms are cleaned on a regular basis. I complained to corporate and store manager called me. Very condescending, basically said "It couldn't have been like that, I've never seen it like that." So is he calling me a liar? read more

If I could give this place a -star I would. They completely ruined my dogs hair. I showed the groomer a photo for reference and she took off all my dogs hair. If they couldn't do the look they should've told me so I could've found an actual dog groomer instead of someone who is just going to shave my dogs hair off. Do not go. read more

I went to this particular location to purchase a Betta fish. After browsing their selection of fish housed in tiny containers. A very pleasant young woman assisted me with items to purchase for start up aquarium, food etc. Unfortunately, the woman at check- out not so much. She was rude, unprofessional and refused to give me a bag. I offered to pay for the bag she said no. We don't know if you are going to put the fish in a bag. Why would put any fish in a bag? I even went on to explain to her I need a bag for the items purchased and a bag to lay on the floor of my car just in case the water spilled. Even the young lady in the fish department advised me to do so. What an idiot. Needless to say I will NOT be making purchases at the location again. I will use Petsmart where the associates are pleasant and nonconfrontational. read more

Had an appointment that I made weeks ago to have my puppy groomed. For starters it took me weeks to even MAKE an appointment because they never answer the phone and trying to book online shows them booked through December- I don't know why I even looked that far ahead. So I bring my dog in and the groomer comes over to look at him, he growls and backs up against me and my children, she says nope not doing it, can't do it, won't do it. He's aggressive. He didn't lunge at her, he doesn't bite. He's a puppy FFS! He was scared, she's a stranger! I've been paying for Vital Care but for what, I can't even get his nails clipped. The woman was RIDICULOUS and is clearly not trained to work with animals! read more

This petco in Hampton Bays used to be better; it had a great guy as the manager. Its deteriorated..every once in a while there is actually someone there that will answer your question and help you out. Otherwise the customer service is horrible...some yound guy is there that is constantly on his cell phone and unpacks dollys at the speed of a slug. There are never enough supplies there and they have every excuse going. I see the dollys full of supplies just sitting there over and over. Meanwhile, I'm trying to stick it out with Petco...rather than Amazon, but between the prices and lack of stuff for the type of pet I have, its bad. read more

This morning at approximately 9:12 I was verbally attacked n threaten with physical violence by an employee named Margaret, all because I was talking in MY cell phone, while waiting on line. I was standing where all customers are supposed to stand till the cashier is ready for them. I watched her shift things around turn look at me n continue to do things, so I waited. She then looks at me n says are you ready?? I said yes. She says well come here. I said I'm sorry I didn't know you were ready for me, she said well you're on your phone. I said yeah but I was waiting in line? She said well whatever, what is your number. I give her my number n said I didn't know I couldn't be on my phone?? She starts yelling at me saying well you were on the phone I said don't yell at me! She slams down the bully sticks, I intended to purchase, points at the door n yells get out!!! I said NO! I am buying that! She said well I'm not attending you! I said then get someone who will. She walks toward the managers door yelling come out here, I said it's way too early for this. She says FUCK YOU BITCH! I said that's the way you talk to a customer!? She says to the manager come take care of this FUCKIN BITCH. The manager pulls her into the room n she starts yelling I'LL KNOCK A BITCH OUT! That typed of behavior is ABSOLUTELY unacceptable!! While I understand not everyone has good days, there is no reason to behave that way!!! I told Christina the manager, I shop here weekly, I adopted my dog from here! I did dog training here!! I can not believe this!!! No employee should think they can speak to a customer with such disrespect ! #petco #hamptonbays. Took my dog Jessie there for grooming today. Emily was her groomer and what an excellent job she did. We met her at the grooming station she asked several questions about Jessies health. I forgot to bring updated Vaccination report. I was able to have my wife send it directly with no issues. Picked Jessie up in about one 1hr 30minutes and Emily went over everything she did for Jessie. Excellent work and nice atmosphere. Check out woman was so sweet and even let Jessie have a treat. What more can you ask for. Definitely will be back to see Emily again. read more

I saw betta fish for adoption in tiny containers. These animals are not properly located in environments that can replace their previous environments. The cats have a very low spirit because they are locked in boxes. This lack of spirit in these animals lowers the chances of finding their rightful owner. There were more than twenty birds in a cage where they have no access to flying or even walking. It is such a small environment for a large group of birds whose purpose is to be free and fly. As an animal lover it hurts to see them this way. I will say that the staff did seem really helpful and they tried to make the environment for these animals as comfortable as possible but they are provided with very little resources to accomplish that. I am really upset about the environment these animals are forced to be located in. read more

I went in for a product to bomb our house after my cat got outside and also a flea comb. The staff was super helpful and I was in and out within five minutes I even saved six dollars with my Petco rewards card. read more

I drove from Rockland County because the first time Rachel K groomed Patches I was blown away. I just brought him home from his second trip to Hampton Bays and my 11 yo mix looks fantastic! Like a puppy again. Rachel K. Is an amazing groomer. Patches was shaking like a leaf when I left him then, laying calmly when I picked him up. I know he was well cared for. It was the worst thing I ever did, bringing my dog to Petco.They had a young girl cut my dogs hair ,A golden retriever.She tighten her collar so tight I guess to cut her hair and hold her still.She never loosened it and my dog has a terrible infection on her neck that I can't get rid of.its been a year and a cone doesn't work because it is a little low and she can scratch it.I went there to talk to workers about it and they didn't care about the problem I wish they had a 0 rating. read more

The groomer there, Andrea, is just amazing. Our dog loves her! All of the staff there are knowledgeable. I go there weekly. When I take my dog, someone carries out the large, heavy bag of food for me. Their courteous service is what sets them apart from the local Hampton Bays Pet Supply and even other Petco locations! read more
