We accomplished everything I ever wanted from dog training. From the moment that I met James, I knew we were in good hands. He was patient and my pup listened to him 100%, from day one! Besides nicely walking alongside of me, he also doesn't jump on people or counters anymore. He taught Maxx several other things like stay in a spot, and walk away. That I think we need a bit more practice, but I know Maxx will ace it one day. James did training both inside and outside the house. I also told James, that I will continue from time to time to call him for refresher classes or to work on the stay in one spot. I am sure there are more things that Maxx can learn and James is the best person to teach him. James is also very accommodating to your schedule. He makes it work all the time. Thank you for everything James. You are truly the best! Your friends, The Diehl Family and Maxx

He would want to say hello to every dog that walked near or far, and if he wasn't able to, he would jump, cry, bark, and pull causing a scene. My husband and I read countless blogs, watched hundreds of Youtube videos, bought all kinds of harnesses/ leashes etc., and even sent him to another professional -- but it was never enough or fixed the problem. We were referred to Pam and Darin by a good friend and finally decided to give Pam a call. Right off the bat, after our first phone discussion, I knew this was exactly what we needed, so we decided to move ahead with the board and train. Having Loki gone for an extended amount of time was definitely hard, but I knew he would be a happier & better dog. We've had him back for a few weeks now and I can't even express enough how happy I am with the results. Being able to take him for walks, or bring him out in crowded public spaces always seemed so unattainable, but it's something we can now do with him... with ease. Loki now looks towards us for direction, and its almost like we have an open line of communication with one another, much more clearly than in the past. He's still his quirky self, just much more obedient. If you are someone who is contemplating what to do, I highly recommend making that call. And not to mention, Darin & Pam are awesome to work with. They know exactly what they are doing and are always available if you need them. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

If you are reading this, your search for dog training stops here. This is the place you need and…read morethey will change your life! This sounds a little over the top BUT I'm not lying. I tell our trainers Katie and Nicole all of the time that they are life savers. We brought our puppy here at 1 years old - a small wild, energetic Jack Russell who knew every time I was on a video meeting to bark his head off and embarrass me EVERY TIME! Walks were out of the question since he would pull on the leash to the point he would choke himself... sitting on the deck was a nightmare in our own backyard because he would bark at the wind (yes, the wind), the leaves moving, the birds and obviously the neighbors. Does this sound familiar? I questioned my decision of getting a puppy and then I found Max K9. We did a 3 week Board & Train where I was super hesitant of dropping him off (because no one wants to leave their baby anywhere), but they were so good with sending video progress and pictures and including my husband and I in the process. I joke with everyone that I think they implanted a program into his brain! Lol! The transformation was unreal. We were instantly able to communicate with him and actually go on a walk.. outside in the real world. What a breath of fresh air, literally! Max K9 has given us the ability to live an active lifestyle and have our pup enjoy it with us. Hikes, traveling, morning walks, trips to the store, brewery visits, long car rides out of state... you name it. I would do it all over again if I had to without a question. So if you've made it this far, thanks for reading. I hope this helps you make your decision to having a better relationship with your pup and enjoying life with them every step of the way.

Stormie is a rescue who we adopted in 2019 and underwent 2 surgeries in 2021 due to bilateral CCL surgery. She was cooped up for an extended amount of time during recovery. We were unable to take her outside without her reacting to other dogs and sometimes even people. Stormie even gave us difficulty when we wanted to go for a short walk. It was so frustrating and difficult taking her out in public that we needed help. We have heard of Maximum K9 from many of our friends and even the great reviews I've seen on dog groups and online. I called to inquire about the types of training (group vs. individual) and it was clear that we needed to take private lessons. We signed up for a package of 6 lessons with Sherry that were one hour long for 6 consecutive weeks. Our first day, Sherry got to know about Stormie's behaviors - positive and negative, what we were having difficulty with and what our goals were. Sherry worked with us each week when training Stormie (and me) on how to modify or progress a skill. We learned how to heel, which we never were taught from another trainer elsewhere, and the importance of heel. We were given homework on what to practice from the training sessions to continue our work outside of the facility. Sherry helped Stormie become less dog reactive in a safe manner at Maximum K9. Stormie was slowly exposed to the board and train dogs in the facility that had various levels of size and temperament. Each week, Stormie learned how to follow her commands and not react to different dogs. With Sherry's consistent training, Stormie was able to heel with me in a circle with other dogs and sit next to them without any reaction at all. I cannot find the words to thank Sherry for helping Stormie and myself. I came into Maximum K9 with Stormie trying to pull my arm off and reacting to dogs in the lobby to now leaving with my arm back intact and her in a nice heel. I will refer all my dog lovers and friends to Maximum K9 and Sherry going forward! Thank you again!

My Trooper is a dog of substance, part Husky, German Shepard, Chow, Rottweiler with a snippet of Cocker Spaniel thrown in (Yes, I did the doggie DNA test.) He arrived at 15 lbs and it seemed overnight, he began to expand, in size and attitude. His adorable cuddling and puppy mouthing was quickly turning into naughtiness and as he went from 15 to 50 lbs, I started to worry, I was going to be that house with the annoying dog. Enter Happy Dog Training. Recommended by EVERYONE, I registered for "Family Dog 1" and thought, if nothing else, I'd get to see real humans for the next 8 weeks. Trooper dragged me into our first class eagerly expecting to run and play with the 4 other dogs in class, but he soon learned that school was serious business, but with great rewards: Yummy treats, bully sticks and tug toys, and of course praise and attention. Our Trainers, Ellen and Tiffany made us feel so comfortable, gently reminding me when to click and when to treat since I so often got it wrong and helping me see the small steps we were making were really huge milestones on our journey from "hard to handle" to "wow, what a good dog." Never a harsh word or tone, they taught us to reward the positive and allow our fur kids to figure out how to earn those treats. No punishment, no yelling, no mean mommy voices, just lots of positive reinforcement and understanding their motivation. Trooper is now 10 months old and well over 60lbs. He walks well on his leash, responds to sit, down, off, wait, go and of course give mommy kisses. He had his first grooming at the spa and got a gold star for behavior. Thanks to Happy Dog Training, Mommy's Big Dog is turning out to be the silver lining in this pandemic. Hope to register for more classes soon- Trooper misses school!
