Me and my girlfriend were at Petco today and interested in getting a tortoise. When we went to check the little guy out, we saw him accidentally flip himself on his back while in shallow water. He was struggling to get back into his feet, and we feared he could get exhausted and drown. When we told a worker about it, and directed said worker over to the poor little guy, the worker laughed and then proceeded to walk away. Fortunately the tortoise was able to get back onto his feet, but it took at least 10 minutes of him struggling. We were very worried for him, and seeing the workers not care was genuinely heartbreaking. Please do better. read more

Called to make sure it was ok to get a dog wash. Head there within 5 minutes and am told it's not open and the last groomer had left so you can't use their self washing station??? Will absolutely not be coming back here. Ridiculous. read more

The workers both walked right by me at the register and I rang their doorbell at the front because they don't have eyes that can see me at the register. I usually come to this Petco whenever I need my dog supplies. I am always able to get in and to get out without any wait. There is also treats upfront for the pups so if you bring your dog in, they can get a small little treat. But say it is kind of pricey, but they always have good deals. The store is also clean and it doesn't smell gross which is always a plus. read more

This store does not open till 9 even though it lets you book a grooming appt at 8:15. When I dropped off (he's first appt of day), I asked how long the grooming would take, the gentleman said Petco allows for 4 hours, so 1pm. At 12:30, I hadn't heard anything so I called and asked if I could pick up my dog at 1pm. The gentleman was rude said that he hadn't gotten to my dog yet and repeated he had 4 hours and that he was busy that day. So I confirmed 4 hours was 1 o'clock. He said yes and my dog would be done by 1pm. Dog was done by 1 but in a rush to finish him they cut the area in between where his front leg meets his chest. Charged me $115. Will not be going back here. Poor dog. read more

I just wanted to buy 10 $.20 goldfish. My husband went in the store and told them 2 days ago our fish all died because I added bleach to the water. (NONE of THAT is TRUE!) They refused to sell him any. So, I went in to tell them the truth. 2 weeks ago I cleaned the pond from too much algae, I threw.out the dead fish(5 out of 15), I washed some rocks with bleach, rinsed them I did a ph test on the water and it's fine. The frogs and tadpoles are still happy in the pond. I think too much algae killed some of the other fish. The fish that died were over 4 years old. Now, the manager REFUSED to sell me some goldfish. He said he didn't BELIEVE me! I'm am furious with him! He doesn't believe me??? He doesn't think I know what I'm doing? I don't even think he listened to me. I have a masters degree, taught school, had aquariums and ponds all my life and now HE TREATED me with DISRESPECT. I'll never go there again! I guess if I wanted to feed them to a lizard, it would have been better to lie. read more

We took our lab/husky mix for a bath, nail buff and teeth brushing. They suggested the shedding treatment and I said not if they use a furminator. She assured me they didn't. Four and a half hours later, we got him, and he did look nice. However, it was clear that a furminator-like tool was used on him and his one side has shorter hair. His teeth were not brushed, and his nails were trimmed, but not buffed. We weren't charged for that, at least. But the bath was supposed to include a 15 minute brush, but I got tons of hair out of his back end and neck, so I doubt that was done. And we have hair everywhere. I feel we wasted $40. We will never do the deshedding treatment again! read more

I visited this location last week and was locked in the store and could not exit the building! I wasn't aware that they closed at 8pm and arrived 10 minutes before. After shopping picking up supplies for a new puppy I went to the checkout (8:15) but wasn't able to find a cashier. After walking through entire the store and yelling Hello anybody here I left my items and went to the doors to exit. Doors were locked and I initially could not get them to open. After several minutes and a panic attack the doors released and I ran out. I can't believe no closing announcement was made on the intercom. Believe me I checked every where for over 10 minutes and found no one . I drove off and the doors were wide open. Unbelievable experience. I won't return. read more

I would NOT recommend their self dog wash. There was water everywhere and the floor was very slippery. There was no wet floor sign. The attachments for the tubs/leash are very poor design and tangled and a mess. The employee gave us 2 small towels. When I asked for more towels I was told they did not have anymore. The whole experience was terrible. The self wash stations were a MESS not to mention the hazard of the standing water on the floors. I slid and tripped multiple times. read more

Took my dog in for a grooming appointment and was running a few minutes late for drop off. When you try and call the Petco number it disconnects you when transferring to grooming department. There was no way to let them know I was running late. When I arrived I apologized and the girl in grooming was very rude and said he could not be cut today. I take the blame for running a bit late but usually our dog sits in a kennel for a while before it's his turn to be cut. Last time we used them they couldn't trim the face area. Not sure I would recommend them for grooming!! read more

My review isn't on the store as a whole just on the self service dog wash. The leashes they provide for the wash are all tangled and difficult to use. The water hose gets stuck under the metal basket at the front of the tub making it hard to reach your dog without making a huge mess. The mat in the tub slips forward blocking the drain so water continues to rise in the shallow tubs. The shampoo and conditioner buttons don't provide any product so make sure to bring your own. They provide a single thin towel about the size of a hand towel to dry with, if you have a dog you know this is not possible. The dryer does not put out any air whatsoever. Super disappointed with the self service wash and have learned to stay with Treats Unleashed. It's a further drive and the price is a little more there but boy have I learned you get what you pay for. read more

I used the self serve bathing for my dog this past weekend. I can accept all the dog shedding and dog hair left in the tub. However, the mat on the bottom had curled up on the ends holding water and would not drain, making a puddle for the puppy . Hence trying to dry the pup was near impossible. Even though they provided me with 3 towels, the thin rags with the pup sitting in water were inadequate. The hair dryer was so cold in this weather the pup was shivering. I gave up. My first grooming experience at this location was good. However, this time with the same dog, same groomer, I was unpleasantly surprised that the cost was actually twice what it was last time (even tho I had coupons both times). This time I had asked when my dog would be ready due to a predicted bad storm and last time had taken almost 4 hours. I was told I could pay for "Rush" so he would be done quickly before others. I chose not to, thinking it would take the "2 hours 15 minutes" that my confirmation email said. It took 2 hours and 40 minutes, and I was charged an extra $12 for "Rush", which I had decided not to have them do. I must say my dog is clean, but I could have done a much better cut myself at home. His coat is choppy and uneven. This was my last visit to Petco for grooming. read more

My review is not about the store, but about the manager. He usually is at the register, he looks very annoyed when you ask questions and is not helpful at all. I don't even want to come to this store anymore because of him, I rather go to the one down clarkson. I am not the only person who thinks this. I see him constantly on his phone as well. He looks at you like a serial killer. I was in my car and haven't left yet when he went out for a smoking break and stared at me the whole time. I had a poor grooming experience. My dog was dropped off at 12:15 for his 12:30 appointment. I told the groomer how I wanted his outline trim done today. The groomer told me it could be 4-5 hours which is what Petco allows. I said okay, but didn't think it would take that long as it normally takes 2-3 hours. I showed back up at 4:45 to see if my dog was close to being finished and the groomer responded that he is the next one to be pulled and he has until 5:30. I walked down to a shop to kill some time and showed back up at 5:20. I asked a different worker if my dog was finished and she said he was. I never received a call when he was finished. I went to pay and saw that my bill was nearly $30 more than what I usually pay. I went back to the groomer to discuss this and he said the person in the past was charging me incorrectly and he wasn't sure what I wanted him to do. I told him I guess nothing but I won't be coming back at these rates and this service. I then thoroughly looked at my dog and his tail was not trimmed like I had asked and he had a big mat behind his ear. I asked a different groomer to touch these up. My dog peed for a very long time once he got outside and then went running to the water bowl when we got home and drank for nearly 3 minutes. It does not seem right to keep a dog caged up for 5 hours without water or pee breaks. Petco is overbooking grooming. I hope they change their scheduling, but they have lost a 5 year customer. read more

Not only does she make my baby feel at ease (because he's always scared to death) but he actually is excited to see her when I take him to Petco. There is no other groomer I would trust my baby to.
