I just left Petco on 1410 North Loop 336 West Conroe Texas 77304. I noticed a pied ball python with the wrong Humidity 30% and also Brazilian rainbow boa it's Humidity was 30%. Boas require a much higher humidity. I truly Don't Not Understand why this keeps happening! Why don't they employ knowledgeable people when it comes to reptiles. I have been led to believe that these types of animals just don't matter, My suggestion is to STOP SELLING REPTILES!!! they deserve the same loving care as you give Dogs & Cats!!!! read more

I usually wait a couple of weeks before writing a review--especially if the experience was bad--because I want to be fair and not write out of frustration. But even after taking time to reflect, I can confidently say I'll never return to this Petco. I brought in my two Doodles, who are groomed regularly and have never had issues at any other salon. All I needed this time was a simple bath and a quick trim (face, fanny, and feet)--nothing complicated. I've done this hundreds of times. But this visit was beyond bizarre. I was told my four-year-old Doodle had multiple "pooping accidents" during the bath and they couldn't finish the service. She has never once had that kind of issue at a groomer--ever. It just didn't make sense. To make matters worse, all three of my dogs got sick after this visit. They were vomiting for a couple of days, which leads me to believe they may have picked up something at the facility. Despite the incomplete bath and the chaos, I was charged $157 for two dogs. No apologies, no explanation--just a hefty bill and two stressed-out pups. Later, my mom reminded me why nobody goes to this location. She once brought her Golden Retriever here for a summer cut and came home to uneven patches all over his coat. It's just not worth the risk. Bottom line: save your money and your pets' well-being. Skip the North Petco grooming and go somewhere that truly knows how to care for dogs--especially Doodles. read more

Took her in for a groom and came back with horrible hair cut and surgery on her paws, I understand it was an accident but my wife was extremely upset at the fact that one of her duclaws were cut off. Not sure if it was negligence or just being careless. Petco did pay for the surgery thankfully. It was just a very unfortunate event, and very bad experience here, I would of appreciate a face to face apology by the manager but it didn't happen. My dog had her first grooming appointment yesterday. I tried to make an appointment online, but the website said walk-ins only for the service we were looking for. Upon arrival we were immediately helped and Nova was taken back after a couple minutes of paperwork. The tech told me it'd be no more than 15 minutes, and sure enough right about 10 minutes later she paged me that Nova was ready to be picked up. The reception area for grooming is extremely small, barely enough room for one customer and dog, wish it was a little bit more spacious. Visited this Petco Vet center and was beyond disappointed. Booked a heartworm test but was told they could not perform it because the pet had health issues that needed to be addressed and we booked a wellness appointment. Who cares what the the appointment was labeled. Give me the service I requested. The tech went back and forth speaking with the vet and us and wasted our whole appointment arguing on what the appointment was labeled. When we demanded the test be run they said ok you will have to pay the wellness checkup fee but you will not get the checkup and you will have to pay the heartworm test fee as well. When we said that is fine Dr Tatum came in to tell us no we couldn't have any services at all because it is storming and it was time for her to leave and drive home to Huntsville. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT UNFOUNDED ABUSE IMPLIED. I took my dog here for grooming about 5 weeks ago. At the time the groomer indicated it appeared she had a vaginal infection. I took her immediately to the vet who said it was minor and placed her on antibiotics and special wipes. She has been seen at least 4 times by a vet since then because she is elderly and on a lot of medications and there was no problem. Brought her into Petco yesterday and the first thing the goomer did was check her vaginal area. The groomer said she still had an infection and implied I never got it treated. I indicated she had been seen by the vet and treated. He took my dog away from me insisting I give the girl at the desk my vet number so they could verify treatment. I was stunned and gave it to her and she confirmed treatment. This groomer is NOT a vet and should NOT be dispensing veterinary advice or insisting on contacting your vet. Furthermore, people who take their dogs for grooming are conscientious enough to get vet treatments so this was outlandish treatment by this establishment. read more

If I could give this store a zero I would. It never fails that every experience i have had here has been negative. I will say that the gentleman in the wheel chair is the kindest and offers more help than the entire rest of the staff combined. As a foster to many animals, i am always looking for high quality food for the babies i care for. I have driven to College Station, Huntsville, Houston and The Woodlands and have had great experiences finding good prices- on average spending 250.00 each trip (several times a month). I come home to Conroe and not only are prices jacked up but service is horrible. You can have this store and be rude to other customers... I give up- i wont step foot back in this store again. read more

Today myself my husband and two other people rescued three maybe week old kittens from a car engine in the parking lot The Petco just happened to be hosting a pet adoption once we were able to get the kittens from the engine cool them down tried to give some water the owner of the car went to Petco where they Humane Society was adopting dogs they quickly with the help of Petco was able to cool the little kittens down it was 100° outside Petco provided bottles and food for the kittens and the Humane Society is fostering them it was wonderful to see four strangers participating and trying to save these little animals and Petco provided for their needs and the Humane Society kudos to all read more

I really enjoy going to this store and so does my dog, Buttons! The staff is usually very helpful and polite though it seems as though they are a little under staffed but you can tell they try to do the best that they have. The store has a HUGE selection of natural and grain free foods! Buttons is allergic to grains, and we first tried to find something at Petsmart across the freeway and they had absolutely no one to help me and when they finally did they did not have any grain-free. I went to Petco and they have an on hand nutrition specialist, Haley, who also had a dog with allergies and knew exactly how to help me! She was also the dog trainer and was very knowledgeable, she helped us with Buttons' jumping problem! Though one time they were out of the food I needed and the store manager went to another store and picked it up for me so I didn't have to waste my gas to get it or wait till their next shipment came in. Also the prices are really not that bad and they are always having sales on dog food. Overall I gave 4 stars because the staff is nice though they are understaffed, and it seems like the store itself needs to be remodeled. They have very knowledgeable people who work there. I bought several Koi from these folks in the past and had used them exclusively for food for my cat. The fish were healthy and I was very happy with the fish department. Recently they have been selling small Koi as medium Koi and medium Koi as large. The small Koi sign says 3 to 4 inches and the medium Koi is 4 to 5 inches. Large is anything above 5 inches (which they don't usually have). When I brought this to the attention of the new fish person, I assumed they would honor their sign regarding the sizes. She was new to the department so she asked the store manager. He was rude and refused to even listen. He raised his voice at me saying: "We are selling them as they are marked!" and walked away as if I was one of his employees. The fish girl apologized, but I won't be going back. Why would I spend $7.99 for a fish that is 2 to 3 inches long when the sign clearly says it should be $5.99? It was simply put in the wrong tank by someone who didn't know or care. Clearly the manager doesn't care. Beware of being over-charged by unknowledgable people there. Go to PetSmart just down the road north on I45. We have taken are dog here twice for simply nail clipping, the first time the lady was very nice and I was able to hold my lab who weights 60lbs because the tables where full. which worked out well minus she did not take much off, which I understand not wanting to hurt the dog. This review however is based on are latest visit, we went in two days ago it was very dead and the two young girls where sitting behind counter and very nice. However they need a lot more experience with how to handle animals. They wanted to place our lab on one of the tables, which I informed them he may be hard to control as my dog does not like being anyway from my wife. Once on the table I watch them struggle to clip his nails, there idea was to keep feeding him treats to settle him down. They attempted this a little to late, while clipping my labs front left foot she attempted to hold his paw in an unnatural position which causes injuries to animals. Both employees had no clue on how to handle animals nor that this is not a good practice. Seeing how any real pet groomer knows that is a big no. It's been two days and he is still limping, if you can not trust someone to clip nails how can you trust them to be responsible for you pet while you drop them off. I took my lab into my local Petco grooming salon this morning around 8:30am to get her nails trimmed and filed. When I walked in, the manager, Melissa was on the phone on a personal call and didn't acknowledge me until she was off the phone. So while I stood there waiting on her for at least 5 minutes while she laughed talking to her Mom still ignoring that she had a customer waiting on her. Once she was off the phone I told her I'd like my dogs nails trimmed and filed. She acted like she didn't want to do it, then told me that the registers weren't even open yet to pay for that to be done. By this time it's 8:45am and the store opens at 9am so I told her that by the time she's done with my dogs nails the registers would be open so I could pay. At this point another customer walks in with her dog and Melissa immediately began taking care of her and completely ignoring me. I mean... I was there first and I had already waiting on you to finish personal business on the clock only to ignore me for the next person who walks in?? I was already aggravated at this point but when she ignored me for the next customer I got mad and left. I came home and called the store and spoke to the manager, Diane. She listened to what I had to say, sighed into the phone and said you get a free nail trim for your dog and I'll go talk to her. She never once apologized she just said shed talk to her salon manager. I told her that was extremely unprofessional of a manager and I hope they reevaluated their staff. She responded rudely "Well you got your free nail trim and I'm gonna talk to her". At this point I could care less about a free nail trim I'd rather go where I'm appreciated as a customer and I'm not spoken to or treated in a ride manner because the employees don't want to do their jobs.
