This Petco location completely wasted our time and money. We PAID for a dog training sessions, my wife drove 15 miles, and when she arrived the staff casually said, "There's no session today." The trainer didn't show up, and we received zero communication--no call, no text, nothing. Absolutely unacceptable. I get wary with pet store corporations and how they treat their animals so I rarely shop here. When I do, I have seen nothing but good things. I went in for their giant Halloween Pup Frappe Toy for big dogs. It was PERFECT! I bought it expecting my dog to rip it to shreds, which she did. But I was able to sew it together a couple times to make it last longer. She had such a blast ripping it together shreds every night. My experience with Petco was a nightmare and wasted 2 hours of my time. Neither corporate nor Woodland Hills manager made any effort to fix their screw-up. One manager, Fernando, stepped up and got me a refund for the Woodland Hills screw up of my order since the manager at WH would not do anything. I placed an online order for delivery of $200 worth of dogfood. The order was sent to Woodland Hills and they totally screwed it up by only giving delivery driver 1 of 12 items for delivery. I contacted Canoga Park store for the missing items and they sent me to Woodland Hills. The manager didn't want to be bothered helping me, didn't look up my order, denied any wrong doing by her store, yet they still had 11 items from my delivery sitting in their store and only delivered 1 item from the order. She refused to contact door-dash, didn't offer any assistance, wouldn't give her name and hung up on me. I contacted corporate 2x and they said the WH store was too busy to help solve the problem they created and sent me to door-dash. Door-dash could not help bc my order was placed with Petco. 1. How does a delivery driver leave with 1 of 12 items? 2. How can the delivery driver claim he delivered full order when he only delivered 1 item of 12? 3. Where is the checks & balances what leaves the store? 4. How can the WH manager be so adamant that her store did everything right when 11 items were missing from the delivery? 5. How can a store manager with such an arrogant attitude, rudeness and lack of customer support, not doing anything to rectifying their mistake, refusing to give her name and hanging up on me still have a job? 6. Delivery driver was told at time of delivery that most of the order was missing so why didn't he contact the store? Everyone passed the buck, no one did anything to help me get my order, Corp failed & couldn't contact their own store, door-dash knew order was short & did nothing, Woodland Hills manager knew order was not delivered and did nothing, my last resort was to contact original store I purchased from and Fernando helped get me a refund. read more

This Petco is very well stocked and organized! I dropped by to take a look at some of the animals inside the store and they had quite the variety! They had cats in the front of the store available for adoption, as well as reptiles, gerbils, fish, and birds! I found the store to have a really nice layout, and it was super easy to find everything with the signage that was in the store. The only thing that was a miss was that there didn't seem to be ay employees on the floor for customer assistance. read more

This is a pretty big store. Seems well maintained. Went to check out the aquarium plants though and most of the Tissue Culture plants were dead lol. I checked the live plants in the tank and they all look dirty with algae. No greeting or anyone asking if I needed help. Personally that doesn't bother me but I did notice. Parking is big but when I went on a later morning weekday it was pretty busy. Thats a good sign though the spots are a bit tight. read more

I hope that this review is read by upper management at Petco headquarters. I will never return to this Petco again. I scheduled a VIP dog grooming just to not have my baby kenneled. The person I spoke with, Stephanie, is extremely rude. Her attitude was beyond what would be expected of a customer service employee. This girl obviously does not care about doing business and satisfying customers. She said that I have to bring my dog in for in and out service, no more than an hour. Then if I was even 15 minutes late, she would charge 20 dollars more for every increment. It was not so much what she said, but her mannerism and snootiness was so rude and disgusting, I cancelled the appointment immediately. She interrupted my questions telling me 'I'm speaking', with a very bad tone. This is not the way to do business if you want to have people coming back. I for one, am from a different generation, when people cared and were polite. Shame on Petco for not screening their employees and allowing this. After 30 years, it's goodbye to Petco. I visited the Vetco clinic inside the West Hills, Ca, Petco on July 6, 2025, and had a really negative experience with the front desk staff. When I walked up to the counter, no one greeted me or acknowledged me instead, they continued talking to each other and ignored me for several moments. One of the girls, named Daisy was especially rude and dismissive throughout the visit. Her attitude made the entire experience stressful and uncomfortable. I was there simply to get my dogs vaccines and expected basic professionalism and courtesy. Instead, I left feeling disrespected and frustrated. My husband had scheduled a grooming appointment for our dog, we have been taking him to this petco for grooming for quite some time. We had scheduled his next appointment the month prior at checkout. When we showed up for our appointment, the lady working in the grooming department very smugly told us that she had canceled our appointment because my husband didn't answer the phone when they called to confirm the day prior. She was so rude, not accommodating, not apologetic. She told us they moved the groomer to work out on the floor and wouldn't be able to take our appointment that had been scheduled for an entire month. When we asked to speak to a manager, an associate named Jeremy came to the front and was just as or even more smug and rude, acted completely bothered that he had to even come to speak to us. He refused to give us contact information for the district manager. I will never return to Petco again, from now on we will be using PetSmart down the street. I highly recommend that Petco train their staff to have some kindness and respect towards customers. I have worked in sales and retail for many, many years and have never experienced such terrible customer service in my life. The Betta fish are all dying and floating in cups full of waste. I was told they were "just cleaned." I'm sure. I was in in the morning and one of the fish was dead. Came back in the evening and they simply removed her and put another betta there and didn't clean anything. Filth. Fish are all sick. One of the cups even had 2 dead mosquitoes inside. read more

The employees are all very nice. They always give a friendly welcome when you come in. And they are always happy to see your pet and offer to help. All that is except Jeremy. I don't know what his problem is but he is not friendly at all and seems to not even like pets. He should definitely not be working in retail and especially at a pet store. I have been shopping at this Petco for more than a year ago . They have everything I need for my two pitties. What stands out most to me is the amazing personalized customer service. Fernando, the manager, has gone out of his way more than once to help me find specific items if I can't find them. I brought my dog in for grooming today. Parus was very rude when I brought her in. I should have trusted my intuition and walked out then & there. For whatever reason Parus decided to shave the dog all over. Not only that but she cut one of the dog's skin tags. And she trimmed the face unevenly and left the tail lopsided. When I called the manager tried to argue with me saying that the dog had extremely matted fur. She honestly looks like a different dog. Update: She was squinting so much with red eyes she had to be taken to the vet. The diagnosis was corneal ulcers, caused by either physical or chemical trauma. read more

Improve first by having groomers with compassion and respect. Stephanie has the most ugliest attitude towards us and my fur baby.. I hv been bringing my fur babies here for the past years specially the one I took today ever since I got him I hv been taking him to petco on fallbrook. He has been greeted and cared so well by Gabby and Paris. But these girls that were there today were so rude. As soon as I walked in the girl with the glasses said ohh fuck , as if she didn't want me there. Few minutes after I dropped off my doggie Stephanie calls and texts saying I should pick up my baby and cancel the appointment just because my doggie kept peeing and whining. And She's trying to teach me how to take care of my dog. And telling all sort of stuff with so much attitude. I feel like there was racial discrimination right there. Saw this injured hamster with splinters of a chew stick and blood in his bedding. When mentioned to the animal person Jeremy, he did not care at all. A couple weeks before this incident had seen one of the snakes stuck and wrapped around the velcro of a thermometer (not uncommon, should have better thermometer setups), when mentioned to Jeremy he said "okay i'll check in a couple minutes" but he looked really upset that we had said anything at all. Before we left the store he stopped us and very rudely said "The snake was fine by the way." Dont be an animal caretaker if you don't care about the animals. Not to mention the lack of customer service skills. Do better, take care of the sick animals, and do the proper checkups every hour for them like you're supposed to. Fill their water when it's empty and don't wait for a customer to say something. I saw multiple cockroaches throughout the months i've visited. The stock is never correct according to the website and i think it's because they've cycled through at least 4 managers in the past year and a half. read more

This review is solely about the grooming associate named Parus in this location. Do NOT trust your pet with Parus. She is horrible not only in customer service but the way she treats pets and people. In multiple encounters I've had with her, she has mistreated, been offensively rude for no absolutely reason. Warning to all pet parents! Until management deals with this issue. I don't even know where to start this I am infuriated at the incompetence and lack of communication. I showed up to the store at 2:10 to drop off my dog for his 2:15 bath and haircut appointment, the groomer and I agreed on the length and style of haircut my dog would receive. He reassured me that he had worked with many dogs before and that he could execute the cut in mind. So I asked how long does this usually take and he told me I'll be done at 4:30 latest, so I went about my day. I walked back into the store about an hour later to see if he had started with my dog but he was working on another dog I figured he was almost done with that dog and that my dog would be next. So I let an hour pass and strolled by the outside of the store to find that the same dog was on the table now being groomed by 2 people! I gave them a call at 5 and asked what was going on, they claimed that my dog was being groomed as we spoke but was showing some resistance, not a surprise since he had been locked in a cage for the past 3 hours!!! Finally I went into the store right before 6 o'clock to find that my dog had been shaved to the shortest length on their chart and was not remotely close to what we had agreed. The cashier tells me that the groomer had left for the day, probably rushed through my dog's haircut so that he could clock out on time, but that he said the cut is different because he was pretty matted. My dogs hair was in fact not matted as my partner and I keep up with his brushing routine and had just brushed him before taking him in. There was little care and attention provided to my dog and I am extremely frustrated at the lack of professionalism among the workers. I wish I could select zero stars. I have never felt this disappointed. That was the last cut at Petco. NEVER AGAIN! read more

I had proof of purchase and wanted to do a exchange but still asked me for my ID and same credit card. When providing all that information still was treated like I stole the item. We asked them to trim our dog's hair and they completely shaved him and his head. He was not matted as we brush him regularly so I'm unsure why they did this or what their reason was.
