Laura is a phenomenal trainer! The first session I had with her was over the phone as I was seeking advice on how to reintroduce my two dogs after a pretty severe fight. Laura gave me pointers on what to do and it made a WORLD of difference. A month later, we began to do e-collar in-person training with both of our pets. They are pittie mixes that are reactive, super excitable, tugged hard on walks, and one has had a history of aggression towards other dogs. We watched them both transform to be able to control their nervous systems, especially when we have guests at the house. Our friends have remarked that they are completely different dogs. We are still continuing to work with them but finding Laura and doing the training with both our pups has been life-changing. She is by far the best trainer we have worked with. Had the best experience working with Laura! She's an absolute expert, and very easy to talk to and work with. Our dog isn't very young, and she's incredibly stubborn, so we weren't super confident that a trainer could make a meaningful difference in just 3 sessions. Our goldendoodle Jojo had some bad habits with leash pulling, counter surfing, barking and jumping up on people. I had tried to train her in the past and positive rewards/treats as my only tool just was not working. Laura helped me to establish boundaries and hold her accountable when needed. Laura at Pet Peeves training completely changed our lives and that's not an exaggeration. Our four year old pug, Tubbs, was very reactive and difficult to control around people and other dogs. He was also resource guarding and would turn into a gremlin when he had something to protect. Most of the time he was cuddly and sweet, but we were always on edge. When we first reached out to Laura and explained Tubbs' behavior and that we had a newborn baby, she responded right away and gave us hope while still explaining how serious his issues sounded. After that, he has been difficult. Sweet at times but at other times....really, really terrible. We've had other dogs but Truffle was like no other. So, enter Laura. I can't say enough good things about Laura and Pet Peeves Training! My partner and I decided to reach out to Laura when it had gotten to the point where we no longer felt safe walking our dog. Laura freaking ROCKS. I truly can't imagine a better trainer. We haven't known what to about certain behavioral & boundary issues, and now we've got a baby on the way so we've been trying to figure out how to make this change seamless for him. Trainer is super knowledgeable ! My husband and I benefit a great deal of keeping our dog on the good side. We felt our breeder have misguide us therefore our dog is now lack of proper socialization. Laura is an incredible dog trainer. I have a German Shepherd puppy who is sweet and loving but also stubborn and often likes to push boundaries. Laura taught me how to make sure I am effectively communicating with him about what behavior is (and is not) expected of him and how to enforce boundaries when his stubbornness comes out. Before this puppy, she helped me train a Cane Corso/German Shepherd mix who had fear-based aggression issues and he was reactive to people. After just one session and working with him on everything I learned in that session I had such a transformed relationship with him. He understood and respected the boundaries I enforced. Taking in a rescue changed our lives. In some ways for better, but not at first. It was all very stressful, we lost sleep, our routine was completely altered, we were exhausted and feeling defeated. The rescue group we got our dog from didn't prepare us for what we were in for so we struggled for several weeks trying to make it work. We almost gave up but we learned that the rescue wouldn't take him back, instead he would end up in a kennel and sedated, all funded by donors. I have a 3 year old German Shepherd that I have taken for personal trainings and even a 2 week training camp and have never been able to get his dog aggression and anxiety out. AMAZING. Please don't make the mistake I made and waste $$$ on other trainers. Laura is the real deal. She's the best and should have been the FIRST person I called, not the third. My little 9 month old Winston is a cute Frenchie, but a very stubborn Frenchie. I would never take him on a walk because I would get so frustrated when he would yank, lunge, pull, and whine. Everything that passed by him he would try to chase. Things like cars, people, other dogs, squirrels, garbage cans, the wind, etc. I never walked him and felt so terrible because I knew he needed the exercise. I had a 15 minute phone consultation with Laura. After our conversation, I quickly noticed the difference between her and the other two trainers I previously worked with. Laura is PASSIONATE about her job and loves working with dogs. We scheduled a one time lesson (1.5 hours, outside due to Covid). First thing I want to point out is that training is more about "training" the owner, rather than the dog. It's important to take in the advice/directions she gives you, because she is experienced. After seeing Winston for the first time, Laura was able to point out what was going on. With a few adjustments (collar and corrections), Winston was able to walk next to Laura and I with no pull. I was able to have him sit when a car/bicycle/pedestrian passed by and Winston would simply watch. This was not at all possible prior to the training. He would not whine, bark, or lunge at any of these. I was in complete shock. The other trainers I've worked with were unable to get him under control but Laura was able to in only 10 minutes! She taught me how to communicate with Winston. She taught me how my body language drastically affected my pup and I am now so excited to continue working with Winston. She's also very patient... I felt like I had no idea what I was doing but Laura steered me in the right direction. Take it from someone who has spent a good $4k on previous trainings with no results.
