My dog had heartworm test in april 2025 and usually got 1 year heartworm prevention ill for 1 year. I use chewy to fill the script because I had a coupon 20% off and the clinic told me will be $10 for the written order. When I told the receptionist that they can send electronically to chewy they sent only 6 months not 1 year . Chew pharmacy called and I called but the place not answer . I guess I have to go there to ask why they did that because if you have the test done you should be able to fill the order any vet pharmacy if you can save money. Michael and Levy are the most amazing technicians ever. They are truly angels. both speak with such deep compassion and empathy to not just the animals but also the owners. I do wait 2-6 hours to be seen but you always feel good coming here and not like you've been robbed. Additionally for the past 7 years my dog has been denied to get nails trimmed at anywhere we go to BUT levy and Michael have been the only ones capable of the task! Now after 3x getting his nails trimmed here my dog actually is pretty calm and doesn't put up such a fight since they made him feel safe. I'm so grateful and indebted to them- especially Michael! He definitely deserves being office manager and hopefully a veterinarian They try their best to keep costs low and solution oriented and are just simply very "just" in morals. I think they are like this in general because they understand that none of us are doing amazingly financially at the moment, and are we ever? So they deserve all the credit in the world for this sort of behaviour. The only bad thing is the same thing that everybody else has been talking about, which is the awful wait time. I'm talking about one of the craziest wait times I've ever experienced. Two or three hours on a regular basis, five or six hours at worst. First time here. Found this place by searching online and price seems fair. They open at 10 am and I thought we'll let me get there early since it's first come first serve. I got there and we were 21 on the list. We got there at 10 and we left at 1 pm. So if your planning to take your babies there just know you have to wait a long time. The staff were nice. I have been coming to this clinic for years and it is probably the most professional, friendly, and affordable low-cost clinic in the city. With very cheap packages for vaccinations, dental cleaning, and other services, it's a very good option for basic animal care or more serious needs. The trade-off for the low costs is the long waits. Since it is a very popular walk-up clinic, you will be waiting for an hour or more depending on the time of day and how many patients there are. We have frequented this location MULTIPLE times since 2012 for everything from "colds", vaccines, teeth cleaning, meds, nail clippings, etc. I trust them emphatically and I have always been impressed by the level of care and the fair cost, based on the clinic's proximity to some of the most affluent areas of the city. You may have to wait an hour to be seen but, if you want the savings then you have to wait for it. The location has no frills, attentive care by the doctors and vet techs. I have always felt very comfortable and easily, you can get significant discounts for services which you don't need a "private" vet for. If your pets will get the same care/meds, I think it's worth a visit here. I live in Brazoria county but, the cost savings is worth a drive, once or twice a year. Here's a hint though...they open at 10am most days and don't think you can get there right at 10am. The word is out and you should aim to get "in line" at the latest by 930. I think I've found a new vet. An acquaintance with no car had a stray dog under his care. I did him the favor of picking up the dog to take him to the SPCA. The SPCA is only taking injured strays and rehomed animals. The Humane Society has a waiting list to rehome animals too. But this is a stray. I began the process of taking care of this pup to hopefully eventually rehome him with proof that he's vaccinated and is heartworm negative. I called a friend and she recommended this vet clinic which is walk-in. The vet tech helped take the dog out of the car and put a muzzle on him. She was so nice and I wish I knew her name. "Blackie" was vaccinated. Then Dr. Parham and the general manager Daniel came in. The vet examined the dog and gave me several suggestions on how to find a home for the dog. The vet is very personable. He offered to write a prescription for my cat who's on a kidney care diet. And last but not least, vaccines, heartworm test and examination cost $74. While this clinic is not close to my home, it will be worth the trip with my felines. read more

My cat had this bad cough, so they compounded antibiotics for her. Cons: -Not open on the weekends. -They take walk-ins only, so you could be waiting for hours to be seen if you don't queue up before they open. I suggest having the day off from work. I can't believe it, have I been coming here for 20 years? When I got my first dog at 19 I took her to the best rated and pricey places in Houston. I wanted the best for her. After taking in a stray, I needed a low cost clinic to make sure this dog was healthy to stay in my home until finding a new home. I picked up a lot of strays, and visited a few low cost places but this place is different. The same lady all those years is still there. She may not always be smiling but she's always kind and helpful through all the bustle and bark of the place. It's first come first serve so you might have to wait but now people sit in their cars so it's actually more peaceful for everyone. $9 beats a $60 vet visit especially for a vet that actually engages with you and your pet and doesn't do the old run in and out. Okay, yes, they try to be fast but I've always left feeling like they answered all my questions, and even been given options and possibilities and warnings of budget. That's not been my experience anywhere else. For the first time 2 years ago I was forced to decided the final moments of my old girl, my best friend. I held on so long and things turned so fast.... It was time. Maybe I wish someone came to my home, but she probably thought we where just going to the vet as usual. We came here, they didn't make me wait long, they let me stay in the room and gave me a bit to be with my girl both before and after. The staff, vet techs, and vets where very sympathetic but also gave me my space. There was an option of cremation and I later picked her up in a box. A year ago I got a puppy and moved out to the country 3 1/2 hours away. Guess what! I still drive down here to go to the vet. Bottom line, pet care express cares about the animals that comes in, and doesn't exploit your animals for cash like the pet industry loves to do. I have much appreciation to all that workers there for providing animals with great care, especially when it monetarily might not be an option otherwise. They were also so very caring and empathetic while I was dealing with her being sick and ultimately having to send her over the rainbow bridge. I will be forever grateful to y'all. Took my doggies here for their dental cleaning. No eating after midnight. I was worried about the dogs starving because the office doesn't open until 10, but they were fine. $75 dollars for cleaning, $125 if there are extractions. With the physical exam and antibiotics, the total cost was ~$100. So reasonable!! The vet techs are really sweet. The dogs were wobbly afterward, so one of the techs helped me get the dogs into the car. My sweet Tedz peed on herself while waking up and earned herself a bath. Which was kind of expected because the same thing happened after her spay. My friend who is a vet told me you get what you pay for. E.g. we don't know what happens, they could be reusing tools or using cheaper tools, etc. But right now my dogs are younger and healthy, so weighing the risks vs. benefits I think it's worth it! read more

Only come here for vaccinations as they do not have a vet for sick animals during their entire hours of operations. I called one hour ahead to make sure the vet was in and as soon as I arrived (I arrived within the hour) the vet stopped seeing sick pets, but the vet was still on site because I saw them go ask, it's that unreliable. The front desk receptionist even raised her voice at me after I asked for the times the vet normally stops seeing sick animals because she doesn't even know herself. We took our 3 pups in for exams and vaccines on 4/13/22 to the Holcombe location, which moved the clinic to a new, larger and very attractive space next door. We were met by two smiling vet techs, Jacob and Gabby, who took our pups histories and assisted with their exams. Dr Anna Parham examined each pup and gave us feedback as she provided a head to paw assessment. Jacob, Gabby and Dr Parham sat on the floor with our pups, holding and petting each one throughout the process. It was obvious how much they enjoyed their work and our pups hovered around them, as if they were not ready for their exam to end! Our male, Branch, needed additional care and they worked him in the following day. We have seen some good veterinarians in the past, but Dr Parham is in a league of her own. Still love Dr. Parham, he can give proper diagnosis in one visit. But his tech and his front desk made horrible mistake on giving us the prescription. His tech assisted him in writing the rx and she put take 3 tabs/time and twice daily, but she only provide us 90 tabs for a month, that is totally not enough for one month. And his front desk put wrong instruction on the bottle, take 1 tabs and twice daily. I didn't pay attention and just follow the directions on the bottle, and my boy didn't take adequate amount of the medication for two weeks until I realized there are not enough tablets in the bottle. I will still go to Dr. Parham as he is very good. But I won't trust his tech and front desk anymore. read more

The vets and technicians are great. Compassionate and sweet to all my 3 fur babies whose personalities range from being shy, hyper, and sweet. Ive brought them here for eye infection, diarrhea issues, vaccines and teeth cleaning/ extractions. Going here is convenient for me when I can't get an appointment with their regular vet and also because their prices are very reasonable. They don't have equipment for immediate emergency complaints so do not come here expecting that type of service. There are other locations nearby like gulf coast animal emergency hospital or sunset hospital for those type of visits. Yes the wait time sucks here, but it's what's expected with the prices being charged. Just make sure to come 2 hours early, as the lines form even before it opens. My only complaint and why it's getting 4 stars are the two assistants checking out the customers. I understand you are completed bombarded with so many patients everyday, but just a change in their tone of voice would make such a world of difference. read more

I have had many great experiences here, but yesterday's experience wasn't so great... it's usually first come first serve, so the wait was expected. I came in because my dogs parvo/bordetella shots were due. I wrote the reason why I came to visit as "annual shots" because those two are usually due every year. When I got into the room, I had to wait for the vet to show up. She came in about 2 minutes later and asked a few questions about Ares. She then proceeded to give my dog two injections, which,.. she never told me what they were giving him. The vet also told me that the only 3 trusted brand of dog food were Purina, royal canin, and hills science. She said only they use money to do "studies". When I paid and saw the receipt. It showed that they gave Ares the parvo shot and a rabies shot!!! His rabies shot wasn't due until 2019 because he had gotten the 3-year rabies vaccine. I never knew that rabies vaccine was considered an annual shot (other vet has told me adult dogs can receive the 3-year and puppies receive 1-year). read more
