Found them via online low-cost clinic list. Was kind of cautious from the other reviews on here, but they are all very very friendly/informative! They really know how to take care of animals. Dogs/cats included! Front desk receptionist is super friendly and the vet assistant is very helpful. Loved the doctor as well. I did have to reschedule once, because I was late for the drop off time for surgeries, but that's on me! I absolutely adored that they took in a stray cat in replacement of my absence! Every minute matters and I give them respect for that. Anyway I didn't want to write a review until she was all healed up, but my Maltese (3 years old) female got spayed. Her recovery was great. It was sad that I had to stop her from any activity so she could heal properly, but totally worth it. I advise you to take 2-3 weeks off or make time to watch your baby heal. They will be extra clingy during recovery, so if you leave they will jump/whine etc which is not good. I think they did a great job with the surgery, super fast too. Dropped her off at 8:30-9am and picked her up at 11-12. No visible scar after 3 weeks now post surgery. Can't beat the prices here either. 10/10 will be back for future services! read more

They went above and beyond to get all its vaccines in order and were very patient with all our questions. Dr. Moseley and the staff are one of a kind. The vet Stephen Pappan repeatedly asked if we spoke English and also proceeded to flick my hat up with his hand. He then had me leave the establishment when I called him out on his behavior. For context I was born and raised in the US and don't speak with an accent. My mom had no issues speaking with the receptionist and checking in the dog without my help. On the BBB website and google reviews it seems like this has also happened to another family. We went to Petworks Express for the first time with my mom to get her pup checked out and first thing he asks her is if she can speak english. She nods her head but I spoke up and said I'm also here for anything so it's all good. He then turns to me and asks twice if I speak English which I reply yes to each time. He then proceeds to ask if I can speak "GOOD" English. Which I also reply yes to. He walks us into the exam room and asks me again if I speak "GOOD" English which I again answer yes to. My mom steps out for a phone call while I stay and watch him check out the puppy. He asks a few questions and I answer him while looking at the dog when all of a sudden my baseball hat gets flicked up by his hand. He's wondering about my demeanor. I could not hide my shock when that happened so I stated that what he did was very rude and he should not be doing that to anyone or getting into anyone's space like that etc. He questioned my attitude. I informed him that if I had any attitude it would be because he repeatedly asked us if we spoke English when obviously we can and because he just flicked my hat up out of nowhere. Dr. Pappan then ended the exam (which lasted barely 5 minutes) told me to take my dog off the table and leave. He did not try to apologize or take accountability for his actions. read more

This is NO LONGER the PetWorksExpress that we have all come to know and love. The new ownership has transformed Petworks into what appears to be a profit driven Pet Clinic with it's eye on profits more than customer service and possible even the health of your pet. Rarely, if ever do I write reviews but the experience/Treatment I received at PetWorks on Tuesday 14, 2023 was so horrible remarkable that I felt compelled to share it with the public. I have been going to Petworks for about the last 10 years and have always been exceedingly pleased. The Clinic was friendly with a keen eye on customer service. The purpose of my visit this day was because my dog's eye had been tearing excessively.  The girl that checked me in told me that my dog was due for a rabies vaccine. I told her that I didn't know if I wanted to deal with that today given my finances as well as all of the noise regarding the Covid Vaccines knowing that I'd need to speak with the Vet prior to making that decision. While I have always pretty much taken vaccines for granted Covid certainly has made me more cautious regarding any vaccine. Next, I was then approached by another young lady with a sheet already filled out which outlined the course of treatment for my dog, and the cost.  Included on that list, as if I had said nothing, was the rabies vaccine. I asked the employee if the Vet would refuse to see my dog if I refused the vaccination and the girl refused to answer me, giving me a circular non answer.  I repeatedly asked her, 4-5 times, and she repeatedly refused to answer my question. Exasperated, I finally raised my voice and asked her for a YES or NO answer to my question, she still refused to answer my question. Clearly the employee had an agenda and was clearly practiced at forcing rabies vaccines on Petworks customers, likely profit motivated. She alluded that SHE was going to be the deciding factor if my dog would be allowed to see the Vet. I called my other Vet to ask them if the rabies vaccination was mandatory prior to my dog seeing the Vet and they said no but that they didn't have an appointment available for 3 days and being an eye issue, it was better not to wait. So I was faced with letting a non-licensed employee at PetWorks make a medical decision for my dog or take my chances and wait for a later appointment. I opted begrudgingly to allow the vaccination although I was furious, and am still furious that I was being forced, without consulting with the Vet, to make an informed medical decision. With the change in PetWorks ownership the entire 'attitude' of has drastically changed, and not for the better.  While I have been referring friends and associates to PetWorks for years I will no longer do so given the behavior of the employees at Petworks. It is a small office and in retrospect I should have just walked to the back and asked the Vet if she would speak to me directly as I was having great difficulty with her employee. If you continue to frequent PetWorks I suggest you do the same as opposed to having a Petworks employee make a medical decision for your pet. Beware, this is no longer the PetWorks that we have all come to know and love. It has been transformed into something else, an agenda driven Pet Clinic, likely motivated by profits and not the health of your pet. In the future it would be irresponsible for me to refer anyone to Petworks. I hope this review will be a stark warning to the public about what has happened to Petworks with the change of ownership and question your patronage of a business that is riding on someone else's reviews. They have different packages and provide pricing upfront on their website which is refreshing since you can go prepared and know how much and what vaccines, treatments and test cost. I recently took my cat to pet express for neutering and they performed a abdominal surgery on him. (He had cryptorchid)After a few days he had some swelling so I took him back and they said he is fine just needs medicine. The swelling did seems to go down but the stitches were not looking great so I took him back they said they will fix him up and he should be fine and called me he passed away my cat was only 9 months he was a British short hair. I don't what in the world has happened to this clinic over the last yr but they have certainly gone from A1 to D- on a downward lope, quickly. I used to love coming here with my shih tzu for his exams, shots, and other minor needs but this and other visits have proven to be less than ideal. Rude staff, ridiculous wait times, as well as being asked to keep u and ur pet outside in 90°+ degree weather. What kind of pet facility does that to pets?? Like they don't realize how easy it is for dogs to become overheated. I feel sorry for anyone bringing their pets during summer months when it's 100°+!! I walked in for what I thought was a small infection today to find out my poor Albus has some severe issues. I appreciate that they had a cat vet expert that explained everything to me and my options. They also handed a semi feral cat in a great way. I felt very comfortable with this vet clinic and how he was treated, he's a fighter with vets and they were kind. Do not take your animals here. It was recommended by my vet for cat surgery, but just a specific doctor. I insisted on Dr Pappan, a well respected orthopaedic vet. Both in the pre surgery visit and when I dropped them off. They used another doc and when I went to pick up my pets, another vet came out hissing at me in anger and unable, in her fury, to tell me how my cats were. She said she was angry at the vet that performed the surgery and "botched it". She was very aggressive and disrespectful to me. Both my cats were bleeding and I had to rush them over to my vet for treatment. It was an unnecessary and traumatic experience for cats and me. This place ignored my wishes, lied to me and admittedly allowed an incompetent surgeon to perform surgery. Then berated me for coming in. Just horrifying. read more

We made an appointment and they accused us of making that up, then continuously called us the wrong names, then shoved us out the door to hurry us along right after I out my 17 year old dog down. The staff is inept, has an attitude and even failed to call us when my dogs ashes were ready. When I called to ask about his ashes they scoffed at me and told me it's not their fault they forgot. My hat is tipped to the staff here. Today I brought my foster dog in to have an eye injury evaluated. I'll review our care later but first I must address the incident that occurred here with a Psychotic Client. A very unreasonable woman, came in and began asking myself and each of the other clients in the waiting room what they were there for. One woman told her she was picking up her dog after spaying. Psycho Lady started complaining to the entire room that the staff LIED to her and told her no animals were fixed bc an Emergency came in...the receptionist spoke up addressing the woman saying she apologized, telling her that only one animal was able to receive surgery today because the emergency came in and needed critical care. Psycho Lady told the staff that she, and I quote " found it hard to believe any emergency came in, with you being in such an obscure location why would anyone bring an Emergency here" the receptionist again apologized, saying "If you don't want to believe me, there is nothing more I can do, the surgeon had take on the emergency and is still working on the dog" At this point I couldn't stand anymore of this back and forth and intervened. I told the woman in no uncertain terms that had the emergency been her own animal she would have been understanding and would want the vet +staff to make her animal the top priority, I told her to stop berating the staff and treat people with respect, especially when they are offering you a service. Next the receptionist told Psycho Lady that her animal could not be fixed here, that she would have to find another vet clinic to neuter her animal. Of course Psycho Lady didn't handle that very well and started yelling again. I told her you need to stop and leave! Finally she stormed out! I feel so bad for the staff that have to deal with crazies like that ,it is disgusting to me that some people behave in such an entitled manner. After she left the staff told me that Psycho Lady had been harassing them since noon, calling incessantly, and even stopping into the clinic several times. I must say that the staff continued to conduct themselves in a professional, kind and graceful manner. If it were me on the other end of her verbal lashing I would not have been able to resist punching her in the face! Now on to our vet visit, the wellness vet helped diagnose a corneal abrasion, and prescribed eye ointment to get the pup healed quickly. I'll update my review when we follow up in two days time. Very good staff! I was taken care by Betty (the office manager), Anthony (the technician) & Dr. Thompson (vet). They are very friendly, full of knowledge and caring people! Petworks Express is located in the Fitness Connection plaza, it is a small clinic and it is a walk in basis. Very clean but not the most attractive looking clinic ever. But that doesnt matter! So I was greeted by Betty and filled out some paper works, I have three dogs and I was expecting vaccines and a quick exam. When Anthony brought me to the back, they gave all of the vaccines that were needed yearly. Dr Thompson came in and did a very thorough exam. She went over every details with each dog and now my dogs are all going through treatments. Affordable prices & they are just so friendly! Also, a quick tip - go early in the morning. Move to Houston from California, For my 10yrs girl first vet visit in Houston that I'm glad I went to this place and talked to Dr. Lauren Suttle. She is very patient and willing to sit down to ask some questions to get to know the fur-kid better. I asked physical check, heartworm test also itchy issue(food allergy) when we checked in.And after our conversations(my dog recent medical records and related medical history), Dr. Suttle recommended anal gland clean which I agree to perform. With all the exams, medications and itchy issue talks, I guess anal gland service it's not on my request list, somehow it didn't perform when we left(no charge on bill), However Dr. Suttle personally called to apologize and she offered to do the anal gland clean for Free, What a nice service! Another kudo is Honest business, Dr. Suttle didn't push or prescribe anyone unnecessary treatment or meds for my dog minor itchy problems. Pretty much all the people there are very friendly. By the way their Heartgard plus one year supply has really good deal now. read more

I have a older poodle 12 years old he had a peranal hernia which is very difficult to operate on most vets will not attempt and the vets that do the cost is enormous this hernia will cause my dog not to be able to poop regular and it would get backed up in his butt, I must say this doctor Pappan is a hell of a vet maybe one of the best in the city he exceeded my expectations by far, I was really afraid because of the age of my dog but he did a super excellent job and the cost was very reasonable, my dog recovery went like clock work no complications at all. thanks to Dr. Pappan I highly recommend his service if you love your pet like I do mine. I've been at this place multiple times to have my dogs vaccinations done. Fairy because the prices are decent and inexpensive. I always recommend friends and family here because it's a nice environment. A few months ago though, I witness a dog being put to sleep, which was not pleasant at all. The place is set up into two cubbies, no doors or anything. Why would anyone who is a pet lover have to witness a dog being put to sleep? I was upset and distressed, no one should have to witness that. Honestly I think that should've been taken care of in the back room, not in the cubbies where other people are across from each other. I walked into PetWorks after I wrote this review on Google Maps ^ I was kicked out and told that my dog could not be looked at because someone "wrote a nasty review." Took my niece & nephew's kitten here for her vaccination and check up. This place is in a strip center near the Fitness Connection on Westheimer. We were originally going to take the kitty to The Cat Hospital down the street but decided to cancel that appointment and come here because the costs were 40-50% cheaper. They only take walk-ins here (except for surgeries) so no appointment is needed. We thought maybe there would be a wait, but luckily we were the only folks there and were in and out of the office within 20 mins. They did the routine check-up, gave her a vaccination, and a deworming medication orally. The best part about it was everything cost less than $50. The vet recommended us to come back in a few weeks for additional vaccinations once she's old enough. Check-in and check-out was super easy and the staff was knowledgeable and super friendly. The place isn't super nice, kind of a no frills vet's office, but it got the job done. I looked at their prices other services and their prices are WAY cheaper than the place I take my own pets. For surgery, appointments are required, but it is definitely worth the low cost. I highly recommend this place to others, especially if you don't have pet insurance or if your pet needs to be seen ASAP. I've already started telling my friends about this office. This is a great place for low cost basic wellness stuff like vaccines, heartworm prevention, etc and I appreciate the fact that I don't have to go to all the way into the city like I have to with SNAP, Petcare Express, North Loop clinic, etc. Nor do you have to wait for the weekend like you would for low-cost clinic like Greater Good on Dairy Ashford. As a foster/rescue volunteer, every penny costs and convenience/time is of great importance to me and I appreciate having a low cost wellness clinic like Petworks Express that is open on most days of the week. However their general and specialized care costs are almost on par with other regular vets, i.e not very low cost (especially compared to North Loop Clinic) and I would like it if they stated that the hours don't really reflect the times that the doctor/vet is around. The vet usually leaves about an hour earlier than the times stated, so keep that in mind before lugging yourself and your pooch(es) all the way to the vet. Hey furry lovers! The other day in the rain I had to take my snuggles to the vet for allergy/ ear infection. I like how this place has walk in service. They are also reasonable on pricing. They were a little busy Monday so I was at the place for about two hours. Me and my snuggles were ready to go, but I'm a patient person so I could deal. The vets/ staff are always nice what I like. Only thing I was upset about is that the medication for his ear last time didn't last the 14days. Which caused his ear not to heal 100%. Which caused me to go back to pay for another check up.Plus a more expensive ear medication this time. I will update you guys if what they recommended this time for snuggles works. read more

So I own 4 dogs and have rescued/fostered at least 5 other dogs and have made plentyyyyy of visits to Petworks. I don't know why it's taken me this long to write a review but I'm here to tell you guys how awesome this clinic is! I'm so glad that's it's near my house too! Betty is always so helpful and truly cares about all the pets that come into the clinic. Most of the time we see a different vet but we always have a good experience regardless. I recently had my female German shepherd spayed there and it was truly the best work I've seen by far! My girl healed QUICK and the incision was tiny and clean! She recovered in literally 2 days. I am totally confused about a conversation I just had with someone at Petworks Express. I don't recall her name but she stated that they would not accept people who adopted from True Blue Animal Rescue to have their pets spayed or neutered through Petworks Express. She stated that in 2015, someone using my name, from True Blue Animal Rescue in Brenham, had a problem with a policy and because of that they would no longer allow people who adopt from True Blue to go to Petworks Express. She then hung up on me. She wouldn't tell me what the problem was, she just told me our dogs couldn't go there and she hung up on me. I called back to see if we just lost signal and she told me that I hung up on her and she hung up on me again! I was so surprised that I called again and she hung up on me again! I'm confused because True Blue Animal Rescue doesn't have a problem with Petworks Express which is listed on the spay / neuter certificates. If True Blue had a problem with Petworks Express then they would have taken them off their list. They have had pets spayed and neutered at Petworks Express since 2015 which makes it even more confusing. I imagine that someone with a certificate called and used my name (which is on the certificate) and didn't like something that was said. I assure you that wasn't me. Yes, we can just refer people to other clinics as I was instructed to do by the person on the phone, but if Petworks Express's goal is to spay and neuter animals then why not get to the bottom of this and work things out? read more
