I had a few poor experiences with vets previously and was very hesitant to take my baby in after looking forward a second opinion on a bump on her tail. Low and behold, they provided me with all the facts and recommendations. Answered every single question I had, my family and was there for every call I had for post-operative care. Now, a year later, my active little girl has a ruptured CCL. From the front desk staff and receptionists, vet techs to the doctors, everyone here makes you feel just as important as one of their own. They do have a lot of complete care. I am not unhappy because of their dealing with the health of pets otherwise I would not be unhappy. The issues is the price increases is so through the roof ridiculous, and I can no longer afford. They will not even allow me to get much cheaper heartworm medicine as they now insist prescriptions are only allowed through them at the highest prices ever! They went from about $1000 to clean/extract teeth, to $3000. There service is great, if money is no issue. I have been with this Vet through two owners and don't know what to do. I love my dog so much. They treat her well. But right now I need to make sure to keep her feed and a roof over her head. Did find a better and cheaper groomer outside the beltway. read more

My boyfriend and I took our newly adopted Aussie to see Dr. Parkerson a few weeks ago. I was nervous about the appointment since with COVID-19 it is curbside and I felt like we might not get the attention we wanted. I was completely wrong about this. The staff at Tanglewilde is AMAZING!!! I wish I could remember the techs names that helped us so I could give them a shoutout but they are all so friendly and helpful. Do be advised that the receptionist does seem annoyed by everything, but other than that I have no complaints. Dr. Parkerson is the sweetest person ever. So disappointed with this vet clinic. I have been taking my fur babies here for over the last 10 years or so and have seen a couple of vets come through but I have never been so more disappointed with how I've been treated here than before. I recently took my newest fur baby in for a hernia removal and noticed that after the procedure was done there was an excessive amount of flesh left over. When I took my pet back in to get her stitches removed I expressed my concern to the vet tech. They brought my pup back and said it looked normal and it might take up to a year for it heal to completely. I've had similar procedures done on previous pets and this does not look normal. I called the clinic and requested to speak to Dr. Parkinson and requested for her to give me a call back but never heard back. I sent a follow up email, never heard back. I called the following day and spoke to another tech who said he was there when the procedure was done it this was normal and would take only 2-3 months to properly heal. Is it a year or 2-3 months? I would expect the staff to be aligned with the information they're providing their patients. I again requested to speak with Dr. Parkinson and they assured me she would call me back. I have been waiting for over 3 days now and I called back today and their response was this was not important enough of a matter for Dr. Parkinson to call me back. What??? Am I not a paying patient that fully paid for a service to be done properly? And why is this not important enough for a call back that should only take a few minutes? Absolutely unacceptable and just poor management! If you're going to spend the money and expect to receive not just proper care for your pet, but timely responses to your valid concerns for your animal I suggest finding another clinic that can do that for you because Tanglewilde Vet is not it! This is not the first time I've had a recent poor experience here. While taking another pet here for a recent visit I was left waiting in my car for over 45 minutes to be seen. Not once did anyone from inside the clinic call me to update me or make me aware of why I was waiting for so long after my appointment to be seen. I had to leave that day without my dog being seen and had to reschedule for another day. Super inconvenient! I just don't think this clinic is at the caliber it used to be. These people are rude over the phone. I think I spoke with someone named Roseanne (?) I couldn't understand her. I asked if they could help me with the syringes that help administer liquid medicine to my pet who recently had surgery. Our vet is on the other side of town. If something is wrong with your baby, this is the spot to go! My babygirl had major diarrhea for a few days (so I googled and tried home remedies and such) only to see the condition worsen. I had been up since 2am taking her in and out and watching her like a hawk. Blood started to come out of both ends for her and that's when I panicked. We were a walk-in right when their doors opened, and I was a bit scared to see that there were a few appointments there (I would think that they would take the appointments first but they did not.. or they did I don't know I just know someone helped us QUICK). The vet tech was extremely informative, helpful and just an angel to us. The actual veterinarian (Dr. Simon) was even better! We just had that gut feeling that our girl was in good hands... and we were correct! They advised we leave her there for an IV treatment so we did, and they let us call as much as we wanted to check in on her throughout the day. Dr. Simon was also adamant that he would discharge his patient, which I thought was admirable and definitely quality service. He was extremely thorough about all the medications and what to expect for the next few days and what to do if the expected was not happening. The best thing about this experience was... even though we had already picked her up and left their grounds.. Dr. Simon STILL called us to check in on our baby girl the following day! What a frantic, emotional day for us but this place brightened it up ten fold. Thank you for your service and personable experience- we will be back! read more

My Boxer baby (ok, he'll definitely be 6 this year so he's not a baby) had an appointment here last Saturday. To my surprise, their recommendations are different from his previous vet's in Georgia and he did not need the things I thought he did for another 6 months. I decided to still have him examined since we were already there --- received great information regarding his heartworm/flea prevention being available at their Home Pharmacy so I won't have to order from an outside pharmacy anymore and that the fleas in Texas are apparently ruthless! All staff encountered was friendly. Lennox got along with everyone as he normally enjoys going to the vet and here was no different. I was searching for a vet close to my home on a Saturday morning. The office of the vet I regularly use was closed on a Saturday. They close on Saturday a month and I was concerned about my cat's sneezing and eye discharge. I called this vet's office since they are close to my place and they have good ratings. I met the most wonderful vet tech his name is Tyler. He's so so so caring & amazing! Then I got the pleasure of meeting the best vet Dr. Ong! She's so gentle w my Lilly & clips her nails. She's just such a ZEN & CALM lady, I just love her. **Everyone that works there has always treated my puppy LILLY & me as if we're family. Dr. Stone is great as well. I pay a monthly fee of $58 that covers shots, getting spayed & sooo much more! It's well worth it. This clinic is a part of our family now. Moving to Houston from California recently, I was on the hunt for a good vet for my elderly dog. After much research, I decided on TW and I'm so glad I did. This week, Mr. Cat, a ten-year old who showed up at Dad's front doorstep in May 1998 at the age of about three weeks, was vomiting, which was something he had not done before. Mr. Cat has been a patient of theirs since Dad first took him there back in '98. The quality of care our animal has gotten from Drs. Stiles, Teboe, etc. at this clinic over the years has been consistent, reliable, and exemplary. You walk in and are greeted by two nurses/receptionists/front office people who are no-nonsense (like the vets themselves), friendly, attentive, and really do care about their charges. You can ask them questions, and they will give you honest and straight answers and a lot of good advice. Dr. Teboe saw Mr. Cat this time, and aside from the vomiting (which could be just hairballs or as bad as a thyroid problem), he was given a clean bill of health. Cat was given a thorough examination (including having his temperature checked and his teeth looked at), and Dr. Teboe sold me some inexpensive medicine that I am currently giving to dear old Mr. Cat. Dr. Teboe knows her stuff, and it shows from the moment she walks in the door. Her aura of knowledge and love for animals is very much in evidence, and I walked out of there with the peace of mind about Mr. Cat that only a comprehensive and well-done examination could deliver. I have been going to Tanglewilde since Dr Stiles, I was recommended to her when I first moved to Houston. When I heard she was retiring, I was very disappointed as she was such a wonderful vet. The new owner, Dr Parkerson, is nothing like her predecessor. She does not remember you, even after numerous visits. The office is more disorganized and I've found myself waiting over half an hour to be seen. When she does treat my dog, I see no love of animals in her or kind treatment of my dog. She is very young, and in my opinion is lacking in experience and maturity. My last straw was when I took my dog in with some questions about a health problem, and she laughed at me and treated me like I was an idiot for being concerned about my pet. There is no warmth or compassion in her which I find to be a requirement in a vet. I am now on the hunt for a new vet for my dog. If I were you, I would look elsewhere. read more

The front office was so accommodating and friendly when I called ( Barbra I Think), giving me tips on getting rid of fleas. I have never been to a veterinary clinic as gentle and kind as this. They treated my cats so tenderly. The cats didn't have the trauma they had in the past. I saw Dr. Sherry Corona. They recommended Revolution, and now the fleas are under control. I called to schedule an appointment for my cat who has been sick for a while and I wanted a second opinion. Beatrice answered, placed me on hold for a little while, then finally came back on the line, but was not pleasant. She asked how she can help me and then I gave her a short summary of what I was dealing with and wanted to know if it was possible to come in today. I expressed my frustration with my current vet and was looking for any help for my cat. She said there was nothing available today. (Silence) That's it! Do not offer any comfort, no suggestion to go in on another day, nothing to recommend or extend a call-back from the vet to further assist me or anything. Just flat out - there's nothing available today. I said Ok...I guess I'll continue to look and she said ok good luck! Whaaaat?? Wow. We have two rescue animals, a German Shepherd and a cat, Tanglewilde was suggested to us by the organization we adopted our Shepherd from. Dr. Parkerson was absolutely amazing with our terrified of everything dog, the first time she met her, she sat right down on the floor and let Hannah get comfortable with her and then conducted the whole exam while sitting with our scaredy-cat dog making both us and our new love incredibly comfortable. Since our first meeting we have been in a handful of times and have continued to be elated with and impressed by our overall experience. They offer 20% off your visit three days out of the six that they are open and have generally reasonable prices for all services, also they have competitively low prices on meds. My dog still has trauma to this day. The person second from the end jumped on and grabbed my dog while she was sitting in corner. Scared her so bad lost all bowel and urinary control. I cannot get her to trust males in Vets because of this. Do you know how mean it is to scare a dog this bad? Dr. Stone was around not the owner. That was problem owner vet had stopped coming in to office. Dogs loved her. They fired so many people then hired new ones. Like no experience...may have but the H jumps a dog. Finally found another vet she trusts with personnel she trusts some. No dog should have to live in fear and have such abuse memories for rest of life. read more

I was never called and given my dog's heartworm test results even though I had spoken to them multiple times for updates regarding my dog's condition over the course of a week. I was impressed with Dr. Parkerson at first, but then I got passed off to another veterinarian who was either incompetent or was trying to bilk me for money. They kept my dog over the weekend when he didn't need to be there. More than $500 later and they couldn't tell me why he was sick. I took the dog to another vet and within one day, the new vet recommended I change the dog's diet. A few days after that, my dog was fine. I personally love the new changes. I have been bringing my pets here since 2008, and while I loved Dr. Stiles and Dr. Teboe, I understand the need to go on to other things. I have no idea what the 7/21/12 review is all about. that seems totally out of character to think that the clinic would do that. Being someone who is (unfortuenatly) there a lot, I have noticed they offer more appointment times now and I have seen her alleviate fears of a client in the front when i am pretty sure she was running behind.
