I had recently moved to the area when my dog became seriously ill. I called several clinics and none were able to take a sick animal that was not already a patient. I was in tears and panicking when someone recommended 2525 Sunset. I called and they got him in within an hour. My dog had pneumonia and something else that they could not immediately diagnose. Over the course of several months they saved him and gave me 2 more years with him. Unfortunately he collapsed this Friday night and was unable to move his back legs, go to the bathroom or eat. I called as soon as they opened Saturday sobbing and told them the situation. It was time to say goodbye to my sweet boy. Brandi at the front desk said that they would have everything ready and was so kind. My dog is very large so it took 3 people to get him inside. Everyone from the doctors to the techs and the people at the desk were so very kind and compassionate. They made what was one of saddest days of my life bearable. I thank them all for giving me the past years with my precious boy.

Don't advertise as a "walk in" clinic if you're gonna say that the soonest I could "schedule a walk in" for my cat who is bleeding from her chin is 2 days from now. I understand when things get busy, but to not even ask what the problem is or provide other resources is just sad for a field that's supposed to care about pets. Disappointing cause I had a good experience here before but I won't try to come back. Edit: Adding this here because they posted a response on google that was so full of lies. First, they close at noon on Saturday, I called at 10:17 to give a heads up about my walk in as I was 10 minutes away (see attached proof), which is clearly not 15 minutes before closing. Second, no one would have ever categorized this as a surgical case, she was bleeding from some inflamed chin acne, but the rude staff who answered my call wouldn't have even known that because (as stated in my original review) she never asked once what my cats health problem was and therefore I did not receive any referrals at all, just a flat "don't come in" and I was left on my own. Lastly, I tried to contact them today to talk about this issue and it is now 3 hours after I was promised a call back and I have obviously not heard anything. Learn to read and actually investigate the situation before blindly trusting your staff. I originally thought this was just an issue with that employee but now I see it's the whole place. Disgusting, don't lie about the care of our animals just so you can look good online.

Maya Papaya and I are fairly new to the area and are so happy to call this our choice in veterinary needs. So suddenly my cat displayed change in behaviors and urinary issues, I called and was able to see doctor as soon as possible. As a new patient, the process was still quick before getting seen. The entire staff was friendly, knowledgeable and detailed in discussing findings/medication/payment. Most definitely will be back and HIGHLY recommend.

This one has been difficult to write…read more We've been taking our pups here for 5+ years and have nothing but positive remarks about the team, services and facility. About three weeks ago, we had to do the unimaginable. Our oldest pup had kidney failure and we had no choice but to let her go to sleep a final time. We called ahead so the team would be prepared. What I didn't expect was the professionalism, empathy and preparation we received. For starters, they have a private, separate entrance to accommodate the gravity of the situation. You enter into a room where you are given time to spend with your pup and family in these difficult final moments. Only when you're ready do you signal via a silent button for the vet and tech to come in. They explain the process and give you a little more time to say goodbye. After a final confirmation, the process begins and is over quickly. Throughout the process, the technician is stabilizing your pup and saying sweet words to them and us. We had the option to hold the pup ourselves but couldn't. When it was over, we were allowed to remain in the room by ourselves until we were ready to leave through the same private door. I thank Garden Oaks Veterinary Clinic for their support, compassion and their private accommodations. I can't think of a more respectful way to handle such a difficult situation. A final comment, they have after death care services available as well.

Dr. Russell was wonderful, she really knows rabbits. She was caring and patient, and clearly explained all of our options and the drawbacks. My bun was having dental problems and Dr. Russell performed two tooth trims. When my rabbit's health deteriorated later, toward the end of his life, she was very gentle when helping me through the difficult decision of euthanasia. Also, the cremation package was lovely. The clinic staff is great, they're responsive and helpful. The office is clean, calm, and organized, even though they are very busy. The only remotely negative comment I can make is that their parking is very tight, but it's manageable. I would highly recommend this vet to care for your rabbit.

A Diagnostic Virtuoso: The "Mozart" of Veterinary Medicine…read more As a retired Clinical Director who has spent a career hiring and evaluating medical professionals, I have an exceptionally high standard for clinical competence and professional integrity. For months, I searched for answers for my 123-pound gentle giant, Axel. I took him to several well-known clinics in Houston, but regrettably, they failed to find even the single mass I had discovered myself. They simply fumbled the opening statement. Then, I found Dr. Anna Parham at PetCare Express on Holcombe Boulevard. Dr. Parham is a true prodigy of her craft. While others relied on expensive overhead and corporate checklists, she used her hands and her clinical intuition--the soul of medicine that is clearly in her DNA. Within minutes, she identified three separate masses that the previous clinics had entirely missed. She performed a single FNA (Fine Needle Aspiration) to confirm the nature of the primary mass, while her expert clinical touch immediately identified the others as typical, benign lipomas. She gave us the unremarkable exam result we had been searching for. From the moment we walked into PetCare Express, the entire staff was exceptionally warm, friendly, and helpful. In a high-pressure field, their genuine caring and support created a seamless, stress-free environment for both me and my dog. Dr. Parham found in minutes what high-priced hospitals missed for months. She recognized a client who values quality and met that standard with an honest, transparent diagnosis. In a city of systemic predatory patterns, Dr. Anna Parham and the team at PetCare Express are a sanctuary of honesty. She is young, brilliant, and possesses a natural mastery of medicine that mirrors a virtuoso. Axel walked out a perfect patient, and I walked out knowing I have finally found the successor to the great legacy vets of Houston.

I do wait 2-6 hours to be seen but you always feel good coming here and not like you've been robbed. Additionally for the past 7 years my dog has been denied to get nails trimmed at anywhere we go to BUT levy and Michael have been the only ones capable of the task! Now after 3x getting his nails trimmed here my dog actually is pretty calm and doesn't put up such a fight since they made him feel safe. I'm so grateful and indebted to them- especially Michael! He definitely deserves being office manager and hopefully a veterinarian They try their best to keep costs low and solution oriented and are just simply very "just" in morals. Dr parham was also very kind, knowledgeable, and thorough in her examination although it was my first time meeting the Dr in my 10 visits here.
