Dovecote Boarding Kennels is a service I would definitely use again…read more My dogs are always clean and happy when returned, the prices are reasonable and the owner very friendly. My only one complaint is that they close one day per week (Wednesday, I think), so if I want to collect my dog this particular day, I have to wait 24 hours (a shame when returning from a trip and eager to see your pet).

Unfortunatley we have had to say goodnight to our beautiful pet but glad that when we were away we knew she was happy and well cared for when we were gone. I made the mistake of taking my pet from abbey vets where she had been for many years on friends recommendation and at the new vets my pet received a poor level of care and passed away weeks later. We used to shop there for fish food and other related items, which I remember were very reasonably priced. They also have some live animals in the shop such as rabbits and guinea pigs, and they are kept in clean conditions unlike some other petshops I have seen! All in all this is a nice friendly little shop, worth a look in if you are a pet owner as there are goodies available for all your different pets.

My experience with Woofsnscruffs was initially a pleasant one, having taken my Pup to a puppy class…read moreat Seaham. Having been impressed with the tutors and the smaller, more personal class sizes, I decided to sign up to the next class up at the same venue in May of 2022. Soon after signing up, my household became ill with COVID for a longer than usual time in what was a difficult time. I contacted Seaham and the lady quickly offer me the option of a refund or carry the credit over to attend another time. I opted for the latter. We later agreed a new date at the Washington centre due to the Seaham tutor having retired. The closer we got to that however, my pup entered her first season. Of course, this meant we couldn't attend the class and I was again offered a refund on 2 further occasions to which I accepted, not knowing when I could next book a class. I was asked to call back with my details to process the refund and, as I did, I was then told that 'we don't do refunds'. I asked to speak to a manager and was told on several occasions that I'd be contacted, by phone and also by email. This didn't happen until I emailed the manager directly. David Potts-Brown, the manager, eventually replied to me to explain once again that refunds are not offered, regardless of what the staff said and regardless of my initial situation of ill health due to COVID. I have since asked for a further correspondence from David to clarify his position on why this is, as his original email suggested that refund policies were relaxed due to COVID, yet seemingly doesn't apply in this instance. I have asked for an explanation of how staff across 2 separate sites have managed to offer a refund on 3 occasions, contradicting their own policy each time. After 2 weeks, I have yet to hear from David and doubt that I shall. I would not recommend you use woofsnscruffs. The handling of my complaint has been poor. Communication has been inconsistent as with the knowledge of their own policies by staff. And management, it feels, are simply ignoring my complaint. There are other trainers and classes you can attend and I'd encourage this reader to look beyond woofsandscruffs.

When I was thinking about getting a pet sitter, I had some concerns. I had never done anything…read moreremotely similar before; instead, I had always relied on kennels and catteries. I feel obligated to mention that the adventure was amazing and that it is strongly recommended that animals be left at home. That resulted in a reduction in the total cost, and when I subsequently checked on the animals, they appeared happy and well.

Going away on holiday is something we all need, however, one thing as a pet owner that is difficult…read moreabout going away on vacation is leaving our dog behind. The thought of kennels and other such services, do not appeal to me, as our dog is like a child to us, so we only want the best of the best for him! Whilst looking around, there were many pet care services available to choose from. We actually infact checked out 2 other services prior to using Maries pet care services but we were not impressed by the service or location of the other pet care services. When we found Marie, we checked out other reviews and decided to setup a meeting with Marie and bring along little Freddie too, to meet marie and her little bichon frise Ben. As soon as we arrived at Maries home, we were initially impressed by the location and also Maries home, she is very clean and hosts other dogs sometimes, which was great for us, as Freddie is very social! The service provided by this particular pet care service is a home from home service, so we pre-wrote Freddies daily schedule and feeding routine, so that Marie could follow this whilst we were away. She has done a fantastic job, well done Marie! See you again soon.
