Since 2004 I have been going to pet supply plus. They have been always pleasant and professional. In 2013 I had a big surgery. They always asked before but now I took the offer of helping me load up the cat litter into my car. It was never a hassle for them. In recent years I've been going to the Medford shop due to my location. The same service.!!!! To me, product and service are most important. I don't know if there's a cut-off price for free delivery, but I always stock up with plenty of dry food, cat & dog cans, bird seed, cat litter, scratching posts, etc., so it's always qualified for free next-day delivery. I really hate leaving reviews like this but the severe neglect of the fish at this store needs to be addressed. The staff are very nice people, and they work hard, but if they cannot staff enough to care for their fish, especially their bettas, they shouldn't carry them. I've seen cups that aren't cleaned for so long that algae is growing in them, or the entire bottom is covered in waste, to the point of it looking like substrate. Brown water is common. It's also common for 100% of the long finned bettas to show symptoms of fin rot. Even my mom, who is the definition of not a fish person, says it's depressing to see the bettas here. It's gotten to the point where I don't go here anymore because as a betta lover it's too upsetting. I don't think the staff are bad people. I don't think they're neglecting the fish on purpose. I think there needs to be much better care though. I mean it boarders on cruelty to animals at this point. Cups are often a necessary evil for bettas in stores (though I'd rather see betta barracks I know they're expensive), but I've never seen them this bad. Cup water needs to be changed often, as toxins build up very fast. read more

Super fast delivery! I needed a heat light for my tortoise asap but I couldn't get out of work. It was great know the store had what I needed and that I could order online and get delivery was great to find out. I was not thrilled by their selection. I am an aquatics enthusiast, and went here to get some fish food and a few small fish. They had a very poor selection of both. The fish tanks (there are not a lot), seemed filthy. Maybe I caught them on a wrong day. They do have a good selection of toys and supplies for dogs and cats, so if you are looking for that - it is a decent place to go. read more

I used to order my dog food from Amazon as I have the prime but since the covid hit, I became more aware of the vulnerability of local stores. It just also happened the dog food I used to order stopped making the one I liked and I started to look elsewhere. So since March 2020, I have been ordering the dog food and other dog treats from Pet Supplies Plus from this location and the service is impeccable. They deliver to your door so quickly free of charge and I almost feel bad not paying for such an timely and excellent service. Plus they leave a hand written card with the package. Been going to the store for years. On a whim I decided to try delivery. Best thing I've ever done was get my items delivered!!!!! What a great experience!!!! Easy interface on website!!! This store went downhill. I visit here regularly. Each visit is a nightmare. There's a few staff that's very nice. Others, not so much. The store has pallets and carriages of trash located throughout the aisles. I always visit the animals and they were very neglected. No food or water for the majority of them. The reptiles were waterless. I really wish pet stores would stop selling pets. Especially if they lack caring for them. A lot of their fish were just floating around as well. As for prices, I've noticed a few things that I buy go up in price. Sometimes you get a really good price. It's really hit or miss. read more

So we've been going here for a few years now since it's a little cheaper than Petco. We get our cat litter, wet food, and dry food here as well as flea medicine. I also love the $5 gift cards we get for the cats' birthdays because we use them to buy them presents! We've been part of the membership club though I don't think we've used any of the discounts/coupons since the item or timing wasn't convenient/relevant to us. They have free samples of dog food sometimes when you walk in but I have never seen cat food samples. I like this place, the employees are friendly, and they usually have everything I want. My only request would be for them to stop selling live animals (birds, reptiles, amphibians, small mammals, and fish) just because many of them are bred in some pretty terrible breeding facilities, lead to pet overpopulation, and a life of imprisonment (just look how sad those Beta fish are in those tiny plastic cups!) Otherwise this is why I gave the place a 5 star review: The other day, a Saturday morning 2 weekends ago I was shopping there for my cats. In addition to their bi-monthly supply for litter and food, I also bought them Advantage flea medicine. The medicine is usually $60 but was on sale for $45 (4 pack). Well in my own stupidity and tiredness I left the Advantage in my shopping cart when I took it to my car to unload! 10 minutes later I am gassing up my car a few miles away in Dedham and I get a call from Pet Supplies Plus that they found my Advantage. I didn't even know I had left it! Some customer saw it in the cart, took it inside to let them know, and they were able to look up recent transactions and found my contact info. TALK ABOUT HONESTY!! I was struck with how amazing their customer service was. They said they would hold on to it until I came back. So I rushed back over there and there it was waiting for me. I want to highlight that attention and focus on the customer that the staff at this location exudes! I want to keep this short but also acknowledge the level of service that I and my family have received in general! In particular, JB, Kevin and Amy have been extremely helpful in helping me with a problem I was having for a glotank that I bought for my son where the fish were dying immediately. My son was upset and I was perplexed on what was going wrong. It was a combo of the filter being too big that was sold with the tank (manufacturer error/misstep), the ammonia level and a few other factors, but nevertheless from JB explaining from a-z what to do in person and being extremely patient, to Kevin helping me and replying through email on his day off (holiday) to arranging Amy to help to my wife test and reset the tank from scratch and troubleshooting. If you are in the area and you are reading this review, stop now and go to Pet Cabaret on Washington St. In the 2 years I lived in the area this location degraded substantially in both work force and the products they carry. I used to love the store for being easy to special order from and then they left me in the lurch by losing my chin food order 3 times and then telling my after waiting two weeks that they could no longer get the product... which turned out to be an outright lie... but I digress. Take your dollars and support a well run, private establishment down the street. You'll be treated better and you'll feel better knowing your supporting a local business. read more

Living in Westwood, this is my closest Pet Supplies Plus store. For the store it is, they have done an overwhelmingly well job keeping it clean, organized, and trying to keep the year's old space along the VFW Parkway look new and exciting. However, to be completely honest, the Brockton location is miles better. Even though it's sort of strange, I ended up making my first visit to any Pet Supplies Plus store at the Brockton location earlier this year (how have I not come here before that!), and after that I've been wanting to stop by this location, as the prices are so much better, and the store is spectacular (well, the Brockton one is....). This store is many, many years older than the Brockton store, and is not renovated and not nearly as beautiful. It also has a bit less variety and doesn't carry some of the products the other does, yes it has all the basics and more, but when I stopped by a lot of the places for items in the dog section were either empty or simply didn't exist. Staff are extremely friendly here and helpful, and really are trying, but the old space is really just too much for them to handle. Prices are great on everything, and if that's all you care about, go for it. Always less than Petco or Petsmart, and the service always seems to be faster. This is fine when one needs something quickly and doesn't want to go far, but definitely consider checking out the Brockton location if you prefer newer stores with larger inventory. For now, this one is fine, but hopefully one day, it will move to a new space, or complete a full renovation and add all of the products it doesn't currently have. 4 stars for the W Rox Pet Supplies Plus. read more

I bought a fish tank for my husband for his birthday and apparently bought a 40 gallon breeder vs a regular 40 gallon Tank. This resulted in the hood and light I bought not fitting correctly. We went back today and Joe helped us find the light and "versa top" we needed. We did not even know what a versa top was so we were so appreciative of having somebody who knew exactly what they were talking about and who truly had an interest in helping us! They deserve 0 stars for customer service. After ordering nearly $200 worth of pet supplies online, I waited in a long line to pick up my order. Got to my car the order was incorrect. I went back in the line was still very long and I told them my order was incorrect nobody bothered to even acknowledge me I had to go find the correct 37.5 pound bag of dog food myself nobody even offered to help me to the car. I went back in to speak to the manager and she got an attitude. I won't be back. read more
