First time here. We have a new cat, Stu. Stu is a young male who loves to play just as much as he loves to eat and sleep. I have found that many other pet suppliers have a pretty dismal selection of cat toys, while offering plenty for dogs. Since I was in the neighborhood, I decided to stop in and check this place out. They have a lot to choose from. I don't know if they carry every type of cat food, but the selection was far more extensive than I expected. On this visit, though, I was mostly interested in toys. I found exactly what I was looking for. In fact, they had four different versions of tunnels for Stu to crawl through. I ended up buying one with a very unique design. I love coming to this location and have pretty consistently for the past several years now (since 2019). The staff is helpful and friendly, plus they are very nice to my quiet and well-behaved pups as they sit in the cart with me while I shop if they are with me. I enjoy shopping at this location. It is clean, well-stocked, easy to navigate, and I often find great deals. They also have rewards programs on certain styles of food and such. I typically order online for pick up when something is needed in a pinch. The process is a breeze and the staff is always very communicative if something I selected has sold out (only a handful of times over the years where online inventory during a peek sale hasn't caught up to in person purchases so not bad, IMO). I just recently discovered this pet food and supplies chain of stores. While not as large and wide aisled as some of the other pet supply store chains, their selection is impressive. We prefer Victor's dog food for our three dogs. Back when we lived in Boise, we had to have it drop shipped to our home as there simply wasn't a shop in the area who carried it. In Milwaukee, we've been able to find it exclusively at one local shop. Until now! Pet Supplies Plus carries it (and is a couple dollars cheaper than what we've been spending to boot). This location usually has everything we need in stock, and their employees are always friendly. They also ask if they can give our pup treats (which I appreciate, as does she) when she visits. They were very kind when we had to return some unopened cat food because my cat was diagnosed with kidney disease and could no longer eat the regular Royal Canin food that I had recently purchased. We also love visiting around the holidays because they usually have a little Christmas tree with tags set up for guests to buy gifts for animals at the Elmbrook Humane Society. Product discount signs seem to intentionally mislead customers to think they would get discount. At register, I paid full price and had to ask for a price check. When I asked I was told since I do not have a card for their store I do not get any discount. Would be nice if the signage clearly stated that in a font that is visible. Would also be nice if they reminded customers at checkout that they will not get the prominently displayed discount price. I would have gone back and gotten different items but the line was about 10 customers long. Spent $31 on two small dog toys that were listed on sale for $19 total. read more

We have spent a lot of money here over the past eight years or more for our two finicky fur babies (cats) with a myriad of dietary issues and quirky health problems. PSP carries probably every brand of cat and dog food that is available. Just a huge selection in a large building with row after row of canned and packaged food. Their wild bird section is under stocked with little to choose from, so this is not your place if you are a wild bird feeder. Dogs and cats is their forte, and they have a lot of stock in toys, bedding, grooming products and cat sand. The employees here are friendly, knowledgable and helpful. The store has its own off street parking lot with plenty of spaces. read more

I was concerned just watching a small dog running around with much larger dogs chasing the poor little dog. The man running the boarding facility was laughing about the dog running around and around and to me it looked as though they should be concerned that the smaller dog appeared upset and overpowered by the large dogs chasing the little dog in a play area circling it and running after it. I thought the little dog looked outnumbered, overpowered and agitated. I almost wanted to call about this posted video which the guy who runs the facility thought it was cute and funny but it almost looked abusive. The small dog seemed afraid. To me it looked like a feeble attempt at advertising which left me with concern about a dog's well being when the owners were oblivious to the potential threat to the small dog. I would not take a pet there for that reason alone. The owners seemed out of touch with a potential problem and too eager to use this situation as a selling point which was more alarming than anything else. read more

I visited this location on 12/23/23 and had 10 manufacturers coupons for 10 dollars each that specifically stated that more than one could be used in a transaction. The cashier called the store manager over who immediately started saying "this screams red flags to me I'm calling my manager" . So embarrassing. These coupons were given directly from the company to employees as a Christmas bonus and I explained that. They treated me like I had printed them in my basement. She came back and said I would have to do individual transactions which didn't allow me to take advantage of store sales and the buy 3 get one free promo. So basically I was penalized for having manufacturers coupons. This also meant that I ended up paying over 30 dollars for the things I bought because with each transaction there was a balance because it was always over 10 dollars. Absolutely terrible treatment of a customer and awful customer service . read more

I recently started shopping in Pet Supplies Plus. I have a large dog, 70 lbs, and was looking for a good quality food that was reasonably priced. An employee, Cher who was very knowledgeable, recommended I try the Redford brand food. It was on sale and was a larger bag for less money than the premium brand I had been using. My dog usually was fed one and a half cups of food twice daily. I noticed there was food being left in the bowl, so I cut it down to one cup twice a day. Then I noticed he was pooping a lot less, and that is very noticeable in a large dog. I was extremely happy with this food. Less food I needed to feed him and less poop to pick up. read more

Sadly back in March of this year we had to put to sleep one of our two beloved cats. It was a horrible experience and it's been very difficult to cope with our loss. We had bought a dry cat food specifically for our cat a few days before suddenly having to put him to sleep. So days after, my father went to ask if he could return it, as it was not open and explained the reason. Been a customer of Pet Supplies Plus for 12 years and have a preferred club member card from them, so they found the purchase info and issued the return. The clerk was very nice, understanding and gave my father her condolences. A few days later we received a sympathy card from Pet Supplies Plus. The card showed a cat veiled by a curtain, it was beautiful with a caring message, signed by their staff! We were in tears and can't explain how much we appreciated that beautiful gesture. It showed so much kindness and care for their customers! They have wonderful customer service, prices and products and we will continue to use their shop for our other cat and recommend them to anyone who needs pet products. read more

I don't normally shop at Pet Supplies Plus, but it was on the way home so on 12/11 I thought I'd give it a shot. My dog is being treated for a persistent UTI. My vet recommended I complement the treatment with a cranberry supplement & probiotics. I was unable to find anything in the supplement aisle & hoped one of your knowledgeable experts could help me--or at least tell me if you carried anything like that at this location. Myself included there were two customers in the store and one cashier. I inquired with the cashier who then used a walk-talkie to ask someone else. I could hear both ends of the conversation. She asked about the supplement. He asked what it was to be used for. She told him. He then said prescriptions are required for that. Had the person on the other end of the walkie spoken with me face to face, he could have learned more about my dog's situation and if no supplements like that were in stock (NutraVet & Licks, which your store carries, make them) he could have suggested alternatives, or checked if they were in stock elsewhere i.e. provided customer service. I stopped in to purchase some items I had been unable to find elsewhere. Although they were expensive items, their prices were still better than what I paid for the same items in Madison at a different pet store. The best part of the experience was the staff at check out...my debit card rejected because my mortgage had come out of my checking account twice due to a bank error. I had no cash or other items with me. They waited patiently, no judging or snide comments till my husband arrived with credit card.
