My mother bought my son a hamster and they charged her $50 for one hamster. I'd have no issue with this except the website clearly states a hamster cost $19.99. I called to inquire about the discrepancy and to see if they would honor the price they were marketing on their site. After being transferred to the cashier's "superior" I was told that they did not want to help me and the "superior" started yelling at me asking if I was really upset about being overcharged by $30. I am a big fan of supporting small business, but she told me I should shop at Petco or PetSmart. I plan on taking her advice... and encourage others to go elsewhere as well. If the owners read this 1) your employees could use training on customer service best practices, and 2) If you are unable to update your website, just take the site down (it's an easy option). March 8, 2025, I bought a King Caviler puppy 5 days later she had Parvo, , the pet store manager "Bruno" said she would take care of it and through many emails nothing has been done. my dog was hospitalized and i was told she would not make it. she was tough and did make it. 3,000 dollars in hospital costs. My sweet baby and her pals were told they could not hold the puppies and were accused of lying about their age ...my Alicia turned 18 in October and she's the youngest of her pack. Purchased my first very own (not a family shared pet) puppy here. I didn't not intend on buying when I went in but they let you hold and play with them. Needless to say, I fell completely in love with my little Tallulah. She cost a lot more than what I was expecting but, she came already micro-chipped and sent us home with a bag of puppy food. They have many different breeds to choose from. The staff is friendly and helpful. On our way home, my little fur ball threw up in the car. I chalked it up to motion sickness. She also started to not eat and was sleeping a lot. I chalked that up to her being in a new environment. I brought her to Adams County Animal Hospital for her free exam, etc. and it turns out my baby was really sick. The staff and owner of Pet Ranch were very compassionate and helped walk me through what needed to be done. If I ever purchase another pet, I will definitely go back to Pet Ranch. I am happy to report that Tallulah is well and thriving! Best purchase of my life! Adams County is a great place to take your pet by-the-way. Buyer Beware! I would give this business a zero if I could! We've gotten a few puppies from them and they've all had some type of a medical issue. However, the last dog we got has several medical issues. She has a defect in her chest in her rib cage that protrudes, a collapsing trachea, and luxating patella in one of her legs. Spoke to Bruno, she was the one that sold it to us, and apparently the manager or something, we told her about it, and she was acting all nice telling us to bring in the paperwork and she would let the breeder know and we could be reimbursed. We gave her the paperwork that we got from the doctor and then she's like well. We need an actual letter. Well first she said they never got it and she had me send it to them all over again. She did actually get them because before she said she had them, and she said she needed a letter from the doctor with her signature. However, all the paperwork that the doctor gave us had her signature and date on it. When we would call her, she would not return our calls and you could tell the person taking the call in the store knew she was there and would hesitate and ask who we were and then say she's not there or she was busy all the time. She was totally ignoring us and putting us off! The doctor said that we would potentially have high doctor bills when she needs starts getting worse! We are livid! I finally sent her the docs a third and fourth time and told her in the email that if we didn't hear back from them that I was going to get a lawyer involved. Still nothing! STAY AWAY from this place. I think somebody should investigate them because I think these puppies are probably from puppy mills. Every single one that we have gotten has had some kind of issue when we've taken them to the doctor like kennel cough, giardia, or some other disease. One of our pups had multiple sicknesses when we took them to the Adams County Hospital, which by the way Adams county hospital says they do not treat pet ranch puppies anymore. I am huge into vibrations from human interaction before purchasing even from the dollar store and I was greeted immediately, questions answered promptly and helped when finding supplies. We bought a five-month-old puppy from this store, without a contract or guarantee of his health, because his price was low compared to others. After an examination at the veterinary clinic, we learned that he has diastasis of the hip joints and he needs to have surgery. We are shocked by this diagnosis, this is a pathology at the genetic level and means that all puppies born to this "mom and dad" can have the same disease. Some breeders ask for deposit based on the picture and then say the puppy will be flown from another state. People never get their puppies . If you board your dog you are risking disease. Doggie daycare and trainingg you are risking disease. The price of tree puppies at this store are right within or less than a breeder will charge. I think being able to go in see the puppy , pay and take it home is a great way to do business. Would you buy a house (out of state) without seeing it.? I think the store is getting a bad wrap. When I called to tell them they told me to take him to the vet they use which is Adam's county animal hospital. He has giardia and a bad upper respiratory infection. Hes on 3 different medications. He has now has spread the sickness to my other dogs in my home. Since it's VERY contagious. The vet said 80% of the dogs they see from pet ranch are sick. He in fact treated 3 of them today! Attempted to shop here twice this week after work (midweek). Arrived around 7:40 and 7:45. Both times the store was closed despite their store hours stated they close at 8pm, even on their new scheduled hours. Both times the employees observed me at the door and completely ignored that I was there. Granted they placed a hand written note saying "Closed". Customers plan for store hours to be honored. Instead they would rather close their doors and use hand written notes, basically referring "We don't want your service because we want to go home early". It's unkept and smelly. Our pup also had to get medical treatment for a sickness contracted from there or the breeder. Pone are full and even observed pups stepping over one another to escape. I was apprehensive at first since we have purchased from another pet store elsewhere and thought we'd never purchased from a pet store again. So we decided to check the store out. It was very clean, smelled clean and all of the animals looked very healthy. It was quite the opposite of some of the bad reviews that I've read about this place. Rather it be ringworm on their guinea pigs, puppies with diarrhea and covered in pee or over crowded small animals... there is always something. I have gotten three puppies from here and they are all very happy and healthy and well. I can not stand the staff. The little blond teen girl is so disrespectful and rude. She has a horrible attitude, rolls her eyes. She really just seems to be an unhappy person. (There is more than one bad review about her and some other bad employees.) The prices are insane. Its not the greatest environment for these babies and my little guy seemed pretty scared being there. So couldnt help but adopt him. He is very healthy, but still jumpy around dogs and people he doesnt know. I'm guessing that's because of being in a pet store. My other two pomeranians don't act like this and came from breeder/ craigslist. Jroc (my pure breed pom from pet ranch) came with papers, showing who his breeder was and parents. Went there a few times. They have so many cute puppies. The staff is on top of cleaning up the stool as soon as they poop which is a good thing. It looks like they may be closing down because some isles there was nothing. I think that some of the prices of the dogs are a little ridiculous they did have a deal when he went there the deal was you make an offer and they ask the manager. I came in with my family to check the store out and you can literally smell the pee and poop in the air right when you walk in. The rats, mice and hamsters were in crowded and really poor conditions as well. The puppies in there are dirty, wet and their kennels were full of diarrhea. I highly doubt they seek any medical attention for these poor animals because I saw a puppy with a terrible untreated eye infection and some that were in just overall bad shape. I'm surprised this store is even open. We went last weekend and arrived at 7p, where closing is 8p. We realized that and had not planned to stay long. The female staff member working could have not been more unfriendly. We are currently looking for a new pup and have been taking our time looking. Our last pup, we purchased when we fell in love at another pet store. We asked to hold one puppy and we were told "with covid, we can't allow it, unless you are purchasing the dog." How do we know if we want to without getting to know the dog a bit? We were the only ones in the store and asked to hold ONE dog. The experience made us feel unwelcome and we were treated as a bother or dismissed from the moment we walked in. There was a male staff member there also but he stayed quiet the whole time, slightly behind the female. As we were getting back into our car around 730p, the staff member mentioned was seen running out to warm up her car. It was apparent she could have cared less about the customer.
