We will always be eternally grateful for our visit to Hamilton Pet Meadow less than a month ago, to say goodbye to our beloved 11 year old labrador retriever Ayla, who suddenly passed away due to illness. Lost our pet when we were overseas. Vet recommended this place for services. Easily one of the worst choices that we have ever made. No response from them after numerous attempts to reach out. Although they did add several posts to social media (Facebook/Instagram) with the comments turned off during that time. The comments on their previous social media posts were people begging and pleading for them to reach out to let them know where their pet is. They don't seem to understand (or care) that they are dealing with people during a fragile time in their lives and handling a pet that was a loving part of their family for years. It took WEEKS to get our pet back (even our vet was mortified). And the only we we were even able to contact Pet Meadow was to track down the driver and have them call. We were patient and understood that there may have been a busy period, but TELL US. DON'T LEAVE US IN THE DARK. Please don't support a business like this or put yourself through the heartache. We lost Toby, our Pomeranian, over a terrible accident. He was struck by a car and killed on the spot. Not knowing what to do, how to process everything, the staff at Pet Meadow was really gentle and caring. They answered all the questions patiently. Bringing Toby's body to the place was hard for us. We missed him terribly. The staff was really understanding, it really felt that they're sincerely care for our lost. They brought us to this private room, kind of look like a small church sanctuary, where we put Toby's body on the table and they gave us some privacy time to say our last goodbyes. It took couple of days for us to pick up the ashes. Toby's ashes are put in a nice wooden box with his name engraved on it with a card enclosed. We felt that Pet Meadow really treated Toby with respect and dignity, and it's really comforting during this appalling time of losing him. read more

The staff is great. I've been very happy with the services. They are so caring and respectful of what we are going through when we need their services. Unfortunately, over the last 5 years we have had 3 pets pass away. 1 was the day after Hurricane Sandy. It was difficult enough dealing with all we were at the time. Losing a pet, no power, heat, water, etc... It was in the evening when they were closed and they even offered to pick him up from our home. Someone was kind enough to meet us there. They mess up and tell you your dog's remains are there and then you get a call from the Vet stating they are there. You call and they tell you your Vet messed up, when it was them. And when you get angry, you get told that they "don't like getting yelled at". Rude, uncaring and incompetent. Who knows if they even gave me my dog and not someone elses. read more

It's been about 3 years since I came here to get my pet turtle cremated, but they jumped back into my head when a friend was looking for cremation for her cat. My previous pets who had died had done so at the vet, so this was my first time handling the cremation on my own. I called late the night he died, expecting to get voicemail but surprisingly someone picked up. She was very nice and said I could bring him first thing in the morning when they opened. I got there maybe 10 minutes early, but one of the employees saw me sitting in my car and had me come in. It was an easy process. I filled out the paperwork; IIRC I didn't have to pay until pickup, and an employee took me back to go over everything and show me the cremation room. This woman was so, so sweet; I wish I could remember her name. Before I left and she took the box, she asked if I wanted to see him one last time. I hesitated, not knowing if that was normal or not, and she very kindly said that she'd love to see him. She commented on how cute he was, asked me how long I'd had him, etc. Before I went I was worried they'd think it was strange for someone to have a turtle cremated, but everyone throughout was incredibly nice and respectful. His ashes came back in a nice wooden urn with a nameplate, as well as a sympathy card. Losing a pet is a terrible thing to go through, but if you need cremation or burial, I can't recommend Hamilton Pet Meadow enough. read more

After losing my dog Monty to cancer we called Pet Meadow to make arrangements for a private cremation. Cindy and her team made the entire process much less painful that it would have been had we gone anywhere else. The entire process from start to finish was wonderful. We transported Monty ourselves to the facility and were scheduled for a private cremation 6 days later (we wanted to witness the cremation). The day we arrived, Monty was set up in a viewing room where we were allowed to say goodbye one last time - it was all very beautiful and gave us the closure we needed. We received his ashes in a beautiful cherry wood box with a plaque that has his name on it. Check your credit card statement! After loosing our beloved Taffy we trusted Pet Meadow with her cremation. Typically animal hospitals partner with Pet Meadow and the cremation is part of the final hospital bill, however our hospital does not do this and said that Pet Meadow will contact us directly regarding billing. On subsequent days Pet Meadow called the two phone numbers provided to them by the hospital and charged both individuals for the cremation of the pet. Had we not mentioned to each other that we had paid for the cremation we never would have known that Pet Meadow charged us twice. After multiple phone calls we still have not received a refund. Needless to say this is the last thing we want to be worried about in the difficult time after loosing a pet. read more

We suffered a terrible loss, Romeo, our beautiful young cat who was with us for three years after we rescued him in PR injured and nearly dead, has been killed by a speeding car in front of our house on October 24. Not somewhere you really want to be but when a pet dies and you want them cremated, this place is as nice as we could have hoped for. It almost felt a bit like a funeral home for pets. They were kind, professional, and we knew our beloved pet was the one we got back after a brief wait. The wooden box supplied was beautiful. It is well worth the drive. It was a difficult two days saying goodbye to our very ill cat, but this part of the experience was as I hoped it would be, there were no negative surprises. We wrapped him in an angel baby blanket and put him in a beautiful box with a small bouquet of flowers. Our Pet Beagle recently passed and I chose to have her cremated. On the night she was being put to sleep at our Vets office they had me fill out the form and choose whether or not I want the ashes back or not. I chose to get the ashes back and the cost was very reasonable. I truly did not expect anything elaborate...perhaps a cardboard box and that's all. Well...when I went to my Vets today to pick up the ashes, I was very pleasantly surprised. Pet Meadow did a WONDERFUL job in their presentation with a ceramic paw print, beautiful cherry wood box with a brass placard with my dog's name engraved on it. There was a little padlock w/keys and also a very tasteful card with some nice writings on it. My beloved boxer Zoey passed away on 4/2/2019. My vet helped me to make all the arrangements for cremation. This is the company they use. Losing Zoey was heartbreaking to say the least to me and my family. We had Zoey cremated, ordered a very expensive locket with some of her ashes, in addition to a plaque with her footprint, name, birth and death date, and small tribute. We received all items within a week of Zoey passing. The plaque had the name Zolay Bolay. It should have read Zoey Bolay. I called Hamilton Pet Meadow and explained they got the name wrong. I was assured it would be fixed and mailed to me right away. Today is 6/7/2019, I still have not received the plaque or heard any updates from Hamilton. When I spoke with Nora today, she told me it had just been mailed yesterday. OKAY............ She also told me it had been forgotten about. Sadly my Zoey is gone, she has not been forgotten about. I still cry for her and miss her dearly every day. Horrible customer service. read more

Today I laid my beloved Pet to rest. The staff was very kind and compassionate. They provided the same respect that I treated my pet with. They set up a room for private viewing and displayed my pet beautifully. I had him cremated and was allowed to view the process, he was handled with great care when he was transported. Viewing the process provided me with closure in knowing that in fact it was my pet and I would be getting his remains back. We had to have our beloved pug Tommy put to sleep two weeks ago. Although the veterinary hospital could have had him transported to Pet Meadow, my husband and I brought Tommy there ourselves. I would like to compliment the entire staff that day - Thursday, October 19th. I don't remember their names, but everyone was very professional and kind, and the facility was clean and peaceful. Insensitive and rude!!! We brought our beloved Prince to be cremated and SPECIFICALLY asked for his bed back. When we went to pick him up the following day a bed that was not his was handed to me. I said it wasn't ours and the young lady said she'd have to ask the gentleman that handles the cremations. Four days later and all we've been told is that it was discarded and no one will clarify what that means. Then to make things worse we were offered "any urn engraved and free of charge." THE NERVE!!!! How cold hearted to think something monetary will replace something of such sentimental value to our family. In such a serious business I would think they would be more sensitive and considerate. I am utterly disgusted and would not recommend this place to anyone. If they could not do something as simple as return a bed or be honest and say what happened, how can you trust that you're actually receiving YOUR pet back? DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE read more

Last year we had to put down our 4.5 yr old Chocolate Lab ,Bear... He had an enlarged heart... We were told that we could have a viewing prior to the Cremation, this was something new to us. We made the arrangement and were pleasantly surprised when we were brought into the viewing room where Bear was laying on a table in front of the room with his head on his paws like he was resting... My experience with Hamilton Pet Meadow was very disappointing. At this difficult time, there was little to no communication provided to me regarding the status and handling of my poor dog. I was told, upon making the cremation request, that I would receive a phone confirmation when my dog was picked up from the veterinary hospital. I waited 48 hours, then had to call to confirm that she had been picked up. I was told that she was awaiting cremation, and that they hadn't processed her yet because they weren't sure if we wanted to be present to view the cremation. Upon advising that I would be unable to attend, I was told I would receive a phone call once she was ready to be picked up. 3 days later I had to call to find out what was going on. This is unacceptable handling for someone grieving the loss of a pet. When I told Debra, the director, how disappointed I was in the communication and organization that I have experienced, I received no apology whatsoever. I was told that they were short staffed and just to go pick up the ashes. From a business that deals in grief I found the conversation seriously lacking compassion and business professionalism. I absolutely would not recommend this business to anyone looking to handle the final decisions regarding their pet's life. read more

DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS AT ALL!!! We just put down our beloved family dog of 14 years down on Friday June 13th. We told True Care Veterinary hospital in Howell NJ that we were interested in being present for the cremation. We reached out to Pet Meadows on Saturday June 14th to follow up when our dog would be picked up and brought there. We were told she would not be picked up until Wednesday or Thursday. I call yesterday, Tuesday to make an appointment for viewing before my dog was cremated. We received a phone call today that our dog was ALREADY cremated on FRIDAY. This was after speaking with staff TWICE. This is the most devastating news in which we have not been able to say one last goodbye to our beloved dog. True Care Veterinary hospital also is to be blamed for this because they did not inform us that she was picked up. If you want to see your pet again after it's passing, do NOT use this place. read more
