My son and I had the best experience with Pet Meadow. Well beyond 5 stars. We received an email the same day of our dog passing and others with updates. They also provided us with there contact phone number and also an emergency number after hours which I used. My call was returned in less than 10 minutes and everyone I spoke too was so nice, kind and accommodating. The inside of the facility in Carlstadt was nice, neat and clean and very presentable. Eddie was so caring, gentle, respectful, and just amazing in every way. He made us feel warm and welcome when we came for our appointment. He explained the process and answered all our questions. He then brought us in to see our dog "Valentine" who was so beautifully laid out. Eddie gave us all the time we needed in private to grieve. He was so very kind and made us feel very comfortable. Eddie called us a couple hours later to inform us the ashes were ready. They were presented so beautifully and the engraved label was perfect. Eddie exceeded every expectation I had for the entire process. I feel so grateful to him for showing us such kindness in our final goodbye to our fur baby. We had a small viewing and cremation at this Pet Meadow location. The viewing room isn't big but good enough for a few people. We interacted with only two staff members, the receptionist and the person who performed the cremation. Both were very professional, informative, and empathetic. We spent about 45 minutes to an hour with our pet before the cremation, and then we had to wait about 1.5 hours for the remains. Luckily, a few restaurants were nearby where we could have lunch and wait. The remains were neatly wrapped and placed inside the box our daughters chose, and they were given to us in a bag with a card from the veterinarian and PM. If I could give them a negative rating I would. These people are scam artist do NOT trust them with your loved one!! They promised me on the phone and in person my dog (fur baby) woukd be in a morgue and frozen to preserve him by the staff member Ashley and that the day of they would take him out so we could give him one last hug and viewing before the in person cremation. I also spoke with them the night before. We drove and hour to find out it is all a lie !! My dog was left in a container in the horrible heat for the last 10 days to rot along with other people's loved ones. The manager Scott was extremely insensitive and just said all I can say is sorry and move forward with cremation. The keepsakes I order were also not done yet my car is being charged. My children were inconsolable and all and Scott threatened to call the cops on me because I wanted to see the morgue which wasn't there just containers filled with rotted decaying animals. This place should be investigated and shut down. They just kept lying over and over. The owner never even attempted to come to say anything or call. The manager John was the only decent and honest person there and assured me I wouldn't be charged yet I have been nearly $1500! This is how they are doing people that are in a vulnerable state and turning a devastating situation into a nightmare!! God help these people for being so greedy and cruel. THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE!!! - Needs to be a zero star..... We trusted them with our beloved Rocco, after losing him suddenly, our family wanted to see him & say goodbye, so we requested & paid for a private cremation. We even drove an hour there the next morning after his passing, to see the facility where our baby was kept. They advised he was in a freezer to preserve him until the day of the private cremation & we could not see him. The day of the private cremation 12 of us all drove 1 hour, taking off from work to go say our proper goodbyes to our baby, to be advised they "messed up" & Rocco was not in the condition to be seen, all of us left heartbroken all over again, kids crying, etc.... All they can say, We are sorry, now can we just move on with the cremation, emotionless. This place is scamming people, they are not being honest, they are NOT caring for our loved ones at all. March 29th, 2025 my baby Houdini passed away due to a heart attack or possibly a stroke after trying to recover from a bad virus . He was a runt of a litter and was 10days from turning 1yrs old with his siblings and mama . Just when we thought he was getting better from his virus and we were finally over the mountain he started eating and drinking. He passed away at home suddenly. He went to nap and never woke back up. I never dealt with a dog passing away before. Especially one of my own. I couldn't think straight. The veterinarian Hospital placed us in touch with Pet Meadow. They treated us with so much respect, ,compassion , kindness & empathy. They helped with every step and decision. I even had my husband with me in case I was to emotionally upset to make proper decisions. I was very pleased with them. They went above and beyond. Sadly my oldest dog has passed away this morning June 8th, 2025 . Clyde is 15 years old and fought cancer and other health issues. He led a fulfilled life . We rescued him when he was 2 with his mama . He was my first dog ever . A pure Bread Beagle. He gave us so much joy and happiness. I have not stopped crying since he passed away at home this morning . We immediately called Pet Meadow and we are receiving the same awesome treatment as a few months ago . Tomorrow he gets cremated. We all have our own experiences and I'm not trying to put anyone's opinions down during such devastating loss in their life . Came here to say goodbye to my beloved cat Malice whom I've had half my life. I was really impressed with the facility and staff. Everyone I met was so kind and empathetic. They were there for me every step of the process. I know watching your loved one be put into a crematory is not the easiest thing to watch but for me it was closure I needed. I wanted to be sure that the remains I received were hers. I'm so thankful for their services and the fact they do this for their clients. It was so important to me. When you first walk in to the private room you see the viewing table. You can lay your pet out with their favorite blanket and toys and then sit there and pay your respects. Once you're ready to move forward the staff will come in and pick up your pet, bring them into the crematory room. There is a window with a curtain so you can safely watch your pet being put into the crematory, and then when it's over you can watch them come out. I was also able to get a clay paw print before she was taken away, and what made it extra nice was they put it in a nice leather binding case with a poem of the rainbow bridge. This led to a heartbreaking 24 hours from shipment to delivery during which time I thought the remains were lost in the mail. I realized something was wrong when Pet Meadow provided me with a window the courier was picking up the remains, and hours later the tracking was still showing the courier did not know the package's whereabouts. Immediately upon recognizing something was wrong, I left a message on Pet Meadow's after-hour urgent line. Knowing they had printed a new label, I suspected they gave me the incorrect tracking number, which they assured me was not changing when I specifically asked this question. The urgent phone line was pointless, as no one returned my call. Desperate to know the package was safe, I continued to call them the next day during their normal operating hours; none of the phone calls were answered. I also sent several emails (screenshot in photos), all of which were ignored. Almost 24 hours went by before I finally received a call and email back stating it would still be another hour before they could check on what happened. They stated they would have an update at 3pm, but they still waited until 4:55pm to call me; five minutes before they were set to close. Screenshot in photos. The package luckily ended up being delivered about an hour prior to their phone call under a completely different tracking number, as I suggested they check in one of my emails. It became apparent at the start of the phone call that they had no idea where the package was. Shame on Pet Meadow and Country Animal Clinic for exploiting a family's grief. Twice during our beloved dog's euthanasia process, we declined cremation yet were still charged $186.03. We were offered a snout print, which we were charged $49 for a partial snout on a piece of paper. Home Vet provided free paw prints when our beloved cat had to be euthanized in August so we assumed snout print was free as well. Then there was the disgusting $51.94 charge for a piece of clay that was allegedly Roxy's paw. I am so disgusted by this shake down. read more

I have been requesting information on the status of my boy over and over, yet I never get a valid answer. I'm only fed excuses such as the urn I selected is on back order. We had a devastating experience with Pet Meadow that we want to share to spare others having to deal with this dishonest company. After our dog passed away, we paid for the private cremation services the next day.  But there were no follow up communications from the company, and we had to call every week to get any update on our beloved dog.  When we finally confirmed that they had picked up our girl, they promised to call and schedule a private viewing in 2-3 weeks before cremation.  But when I called again a bit more than a week later to check, they told me that they already cremated my dog a week ago!  We were shocked that they never informed us and that we never got the chance to say final goodbye.  Moreover, they said that she was still not ready to be picked up more than a week after the cremation.  They also lied over the phone saying there is no indication that we wanted to arrange the private viewing.  When we were finally able to pick up our girl, they admitted that there were notes in their system to contact the family for arrangement before cremation.  Pet Meadow's service is really insensitive and I will never recommend anyone to use them. read more

Two weeks have gone by since our dog passed, and there has been no word from them since her arrival there. I finally called yesterday, and was told that they were out of 'urns.' I find it hard to believe that they couldn't obtain a wooden box in two weeks. How many other cremains are sitting somewhere, and are they ghosting their owners too? I will always be suspicious of the contents, should they ever be sent. The comfort I anticipated, and paid several hundred dollars for, is ruined. I feel like a fool for trusting their integrity. Anger and frustration have been added to grief, making the pain so much worse. It actually would have been better to save my money and just have her disposed of, which is what I will do with whatever I ultimately receive. I don't need a permanent reminder of being ripped off. My best friend has been waiting since May 29 to receive her furbaby's ashes back. This was all handled through the Emergency vet near where she lives temporarily. The vet called Pet Meadow and promised her dog's ashes, along with Paw Prints would be back on June 26. My best friend called the vets office on June 26 and still no ashes. My best friend has left several phone messages with Pet Meadows, one message on their website and even sent them a letter that had to be signed for. It's been 5 weeks now and still no ashes and no responses. My best friend also is sick and needs to get back to her to doctor in another state in order for tests to be done. She won't leave until she gets her dog's ashes back. My best friend is disabled and her dog meant everything to her. He was also her service animal. We cremated our beautiful dog on March 24th at Hamilton Pet Meadow. We had a private viewing and cremation. She was laid out beautifully on a red velvet pillow and covered partially by blanket of the same material. She looked like she had been washed but when I lifted up the sheet to look at her body, there was still a lot of the poop stuck to her tail. I had to clean her myself. I was very upset and did let Cindy from the front desk know that she had not been cleaned. Cindy informed me that she was sure that the dog had been hosed off (poor choice of words for a grieving parent). We had paid extra for this private event. Other than that, the cremation room and viewing was done nicely. Cindy seemed sympathetic but did not do much else. They should have really checked to see if she was properly cleaned since we were going to view the body. read more

Zero flowers zero I could have died today when I finally received a phone call back (after I had the vet track someone down to call me back) to talk to me about my soul dog. She was transported her from a vet where she had been rushed in an emergency and passed away tragically. I had been trying to contact them since to go over my wishes for her. I had been uncertain about what I wanted to do and wanted to go over my options. To my surprise I was informed she was cremated. I was told they were understaffed that's why they didn't return my calls. I don't care if you have one person, you don't get rid of someone's baby without discussing it with them first. People really need to evaluate their relationship with this company. Please get yourselves in order if this is your business. Don't do this to anyone else. Our cat unexpectedly passed on 7/13. The vet set up cremation arrangements with Pet Meadow, Hamilton. I had wanted to add some keepsakes and change the urn and was advised to call. Well, I called multiple times, left multiple messages, and sent multiple emails with no response. I finally called their Carlstadt location , they answered right away, took an additional payment and assured the arrangements would be handled as requested. Now, weeks later, I still have yet to receive my cat or receive any additional updates. We have used them for two other pets and have never experienced the poor service that we currently are. read more

I am rating only 2 stars for a few reasons. First, they state due to covid you could not come inside. I called to see if they could do a same day cremation. Said I could be there by noon, and they said it takes 1 1/2- 2 hours from dropping your pet off to taking the ashes home with you. I got there 12:15. I wanted a private cremation of course since I wanted my dog's ashes. Taking away the experience of being in a private viewing room and insuring your pet and only your pet was going into the chamber. At this point of this pandemic with everything being open albeit at reduced capacity there is no reason to not allow a grieving parent inside if following the guidelines. At 2:15 I called and was told it was still going to be another 1 1/2 to 2 hours before my dog ashes would be available. I was charged an extra $50 for same day service. Total was $240 + $50 + tax, $290 + tax. My son and I had to be back home for another appointment and the latest we could be was 4:30 and we were about 50 minutes away. So we had to have Pet Meadow ship my dog's ashes which took a couple of days to get. They did pay for the shipping, which they should. However I feel they should have reimbursed me for the same day service. Concerning their prices... Had I taken my deceased dog to my local vet they charge $165 which includes the same wooden urn and the paw print(s) in plaster.My vet uses Abbey Glen. Paws to Heaven in Pennsauken charges $160 and you get the wooden urn and paw print(s). After I got back home a friend told me about a very local place which I wish I knew about ahead of time, Noah's Ark in Manasquan, NJ. They charge $195 and said they have a turn-a-round time of 24 hours. So you could bring your pet in the morning and still get the ashes back same day for that $195. Also comes in the same wooden urn and paw print(s) in plaster for the $195. In my grieving and need to get back home I forgot to ask for the down comforter back that my dog was resting on when the person took my dog. They did include it when they shipped my dog's ashes to me. At the end of the day, it seems the end result is all the same, but prices can vary greatly. So check around if price matters. Lastly not affording the same opportunities pre covid at this stage of the pandemic is not right. We can shop anywhere, go to the gym, hair and nail salons, restaurants dining in or out, but can't go into a private viewing room to see your pet off? Not right.The person that answers the phone and came out to the car to carry my dog into the facility was very nice so no complaint there, just feel patrons should be allowed into a "private viewing room" and if I was not able to go home with my dog's ashes after arriving in plenty of time I should not have been charged the $50 same day fee. read more

Pet Meadow's put the wrong address on her shipping box and she was then shipped back to Pet Meadows because UPS couldn't deliver her to an address that was unknown. Since they are supposed to be a companionate and caring organization I don't know how they could make such a careless mistake. To me, this is totally unacceptable. It breaks my heart all over again to know that my Maggie Mae is still not home with me yet. I would advice anybody who is going through the sorrow of losing their pet not to use this place. Service was ok but staff was unprofessional. I tried doing the preplanning but no one ever got back to me to set things up. Then when my pet died, their on-call staff was not only rude but also unprofessional. There was no driver for after hours and the person didn't even know what animal hospitals they were associated with because "they lived in PA & didn't know the area". The private cremation was good and I understood their covid violations. However the app they use for remote viewing froze on me when my loved one was being put into the fire and the guy that was handling her seemes a bit rough. I was supposed to have her remains buried but no one has bothered to set up that arrangements for me despite me asking more than once. They always had good reviews. No one what happened with mine. read more

Zero stars if I could. Find someplace else...anyplace else. My bunny suddenly passed at the vet while I was away. My friend thankfully took care of everything for me since I was so grief stricken. My vet works directly with this place and the vet told my friend it would be about a week when my bunny would be ready to be picked up. After a month of not hearing anything I called the vet and they still had no idea when my bunny would be back. Two Fridays later (total of 6 weeks later) the vet called me and they said she would be ready that following Monday. Apparently they had been trying to get a hold of Hamilton Pet Meadows on my behalf for 2 weeks with no response. Thankfully a persistent receptionist caught the driver and made him call the main building in front of her asking for an update, and I truly believe that is the only reason why I finally got my bunny back. Finally, when I picked my bunny up that Monday I asked why it had taken so long and they said they were told they were "switching systems" how switching systems would hold up a cremation of a 3lb rabbit is something I will never understand. They also told me that animals that passed after my bunny came back before her. The vet said it was absolutely unacceptable and they are truly sorry. They also told me Hamilton pet meadows clearly got their messages because they knew to come to pick up any animals that passed, they were just deliberately ignoring any messages regarding animals whose families have been waiting for them to be safely returned home. Only reason why I am 90% sure it is actually my bunny is because she was missing a toe and the clay paw print I received the paw is missing a toe.
