Friendly and helpful staff and the price of Fromms food is good. I don't understand why mass produced treats are so expensive.

My Favorite Fish Store!…read more This is hands down my favorite fish store! It's such a relief to know the crew here--Jillian, Evan, and Chris--are not only friendly and laidback, but also incredibly knowledgeable and experienced. I'm fairly new to the hobby and they've always been patient in answering my questions, guiding me through everything, and encouraging me to do my research before purchasing. I'm especially into puffer fish and rainbow fish, and every fish I've brought home from here has been healthy and in great condition. Of course, as a buyer, it's also important to do your own due diligence--acclimating and quarantining properly really helps your fish settle in and thrive. What makes this store even better is that they offer special orders! If there's something specific you're looking for, talk to Evan--he's amazing! Super friendly and attentive, and he'll take great care of you and your order. Every visit is a great experience--the whole crew creates a welcoming, fun, and relaxed environment. Whether you're just starting out or a seasoned aquarist, I highly recommend this place. They also carry a wide variety of amphibians, reptiles, tropical, and saltwater fish--definitely a well-rounded store for all things aquatic (and more!).

Their selection of supplies is impressive, with everything from live food to cages and accessories for both new and existing enclosures. But what sets this place apart? They feature an excellent plant section with options that are perfect for including into the habitats. The owners are exceptionally knowledgeable about both plants and animals, and their dedication is evident. They're not just looking to make a sale--the well-being of their animals come first and would rather not have a sale than risk sending them to an unsuitable home. The store also has a great seating area crafted from a tree trunk, with beautiful paintings done by the owner. They even host children's reading events and story times there. If I were local, I'd be here every week! The store is immaculately clean, with a thoughtfully organized layout that lets you see everything easily. The team is incredibly friendly and takes the time to educate customers. Whether you're in the area or considering a reptile (or plant), this is the place to visit. The animals are not only unique but also exceptionally well cared for. You won't find a better selection of animals or supplies, and you definitely won't find a better staff to help you. Don't miss out--come by and check it out, even if it's just for a browse!

If there are staffing challenges or delays, it would be helpful to let customers know upfront and give them the option to reschedule or adjust their plans accordingly. I had a grooming appointment for my dog at 1:00 PM on 8/4. Normally, the service takes about 1.5 hours, so when I hadn't received a call by 3:00 PM, I stopped by Dirty Dog to check in. I was told they were short a groomer and it would be another 45 minutes. I returned home and received a call at 3:56 PM saying my dog would be ready in 10 minutes. However, when I arrived, my dog was still not ready. I spoke with the manager, who explained they were short-staffed due to a personal emergency. While I understand things happen, there was no apology or effort to acknowledge the inconvenience. Initially, she said she couldn't assist because she had to handle payroll, which added to the frustration. Eventually, she offered a 10% credit, which I appreciated, but the overall experience left me disappointed. With better communication and a little more empathy, this could've been a much more positive experience.

Well it went downhill from there. First red flag was a cancellation last minute - I get it we all get sick but same day was a little late. Then they were so rude when we did pick ups and drop offs. Because of this cancellation we had to go at three different times for each dog - no problem we don't live far but it was a rude welcoming from the owner each time. Then our last visit with our older golden retriever who I told specifically not to cut and was prone to ear infections so keep her head dry - they couldn't dry her head AND she was cut - not well and super choppy. Then they wanted to charge me for cutting her - "he has to pay his employee for the cut" even though he was told she was not to be cut. I'm upset with how the work was and how we were treated. So disappointed- usually don't write bad reviews but be warned and stay away. Plus spent a ton of money - they should have wanted to keep the customer.

Initially we had 2, and got 2 more from the breeder in Virginia for my mom when she was getting treated for Cancer because they comforted her. When she passed in 2020, we took them back because they are a lot for my Dad as he travels a lot. For the last 5 years we got them groomed at Top Notch Pet Spa. The price was pretty standard. Around $200-250 for all 4. When Top Notch changed management and the groomers went to different places we had to find alternative arrangements. We tried different groomers but ultimately tracked down the ladies that had been doing our poodles since 2018. Now, I spoke to the manager at Earthwise in Downtown Wake Forest. I told him we would give them a try but he couldn't get us on the schedule for a couple weeks. $288 ($72 each was the price we agreed upon. It was a bit higher than we had paid but we thought since it was one of the groomers that was familiar with our dogs (& we didn't have to drive all the way to Fuqua Varina) it would be ok. When I go to pick up the dogs he says the total will be $390! Talk about a bait and switch. The reason they gave us was the dogs had "extra matting (knotted hair)". But we didn't receive a heads up call, an ask to approve the extra cost - nothing. This was our first, and last time at this place. It's really disappointing too because after 5 years this is the most we have ever paid for grooming. The same dogs. Same groomers. Different pet salon. Warning to all Poodle/Dog owners out there. Not everyone wants your business or cares about customer service. Earthwise in Wake Forest did us dirty!
